Five Star Construction

Five Star Construction did an outstanding job rebuilding our kitchen. We had a dishwasher leak that resulted in our kitchen tile and subfloor being damaged. We had three contractors come out, but we felt that Carl, the owner of Five Star, was the most honest and realistic of the three. The kitchen had to be completely rebuilt, to include granite countertops removed; cabinets removed, and tile floor removed in order to repair/replace the subfloor. Demolition was completed by another company. The good news was that when demolition was completed, Carl was able to determine that the floor joists were not damaged and could be saved. The bad news was that our granite countertops were destroyed during demolition and needed to be replaced. Five Star is a first rate team of skilled experts. Carl has a complete team of carpenters, electricians, plumbers, granite and floor experts that answered all our questions and eased our concerns. Carl is a “hands on” owner; he was on site during all phases of the rebuild and ensured that all work was completed to his standards. Carl referred us to several retailers for tile and granite options that really helped in the process and allowed for plenty of options. We also decided to have Five Star install a tile backsplash and under cabinet lighting. Fives Stars’ tile expert is a true artist that takes great pride in his work. We love our new kitchen and our friends are amazed at how it all turned out. I have recommended Five Star Construction to several of my friends and all have been extremely satisfied with the results. I will definitely contact Five Star for future projects.

5 star construction did a great job. We had an old fiberglass 3 piece tub ripped out and a new ceramic/steel tub installed. They did tile work all the way to the ceiling with a herringbone trim and 2 niches. Their price was less than 2 other quotes we received and their work was impeccable. Very time conscience and professional. I would highly recommend giving 5 STAR CONSTRUCTION a call for all you remodeling needs..

Amazing team to work with. Carl (owner) was friendly, professional, and direct about costs and what he would deliver. His team was prompt, courteous, and cleaned up at the end of each day. The owners, Carl and Kelly, were always available when we had questions, were very understanding and aware of the stresses we dealt with, as we were living in the house during the remodel. They exceeded our expectations. The entire team at Five Star performed well above what we expected. We will definitely hire again for future projects. (We even recommended them to our Brother and Sister in laws, who have both hired them.)

All work was performed to the highest standard. Remarkably clean while working in my home. The whole team is professional and responsive to any questions. Would absolutely hire again, and recommend to anyone looking for a quality contractor.

Carl at Five Star Construction did a wall removal for us and we couldn’t be happier with the results! Since we have an older house, I was worried that matching the trim and molding would be difficult, and I was especially worried about the hole the wall removal would leave in the wood floors. You would never know the floor in the trim weren’t installed when the house was built. The result is beautiful! Carl and his crew were super friendly and Bri (in the office) was great with communication, even during the evening and weekends. Great work, great service and competitive pricing! Would definitely recommend Five Star!

Wonderful Great work Very Professional

Carl and team have worked on our house for a decade and they do great work every time. Two major bathroom renovations, hardwood floor installs, paint, new deck and patio, new roof, kitchen upgrades - they’ve done it all.

This crew was great! They took care of everything in a timely manner, quality of workmanship was high. The biggest plus in my book was how they took care of my belongings. All the work was in a house that was actively lived in. When I came home, work space was clean, furniture was put back. They genuinely cared about taking care of the work and our stuff, plus the price was right.

Five star came in at the time they had scheduled and went right to work. They tore out all the old door and door frame and replaced whatever they needed to and brought in the new door and trim. They installed everything and cleaned up the area cleaner then it was before they started. While they were doing this their floor guy was cutting out the torn tile and put in the replacement tile. When he was done if I didn’t know where the tear had been you wouldn’t have been able to find it.

We have just finished a 90 day major renovation project (kitchen, master bath, flooring) with 5 Star Construction and could not be more pleased with the results. Carl, Kelli and the 5 Star team have been a pleasure to work with. Carl stated early in our project that he would do what it takes to make things right and be sure we were happy. He and his team did just that. There was always an attention to detail, not cutting any corners, flexibility on change orders, excellent finish work, and vendors that followed the same level of detail as 5 Star Construction. Carl communicated with us regularly on plans and project schedules. Whenever we had a question, an answer came back within the hour (more times much sooner). The pricing was very competitive and any changes were discussed, with options, up front. There were no surprises right down to the final bill. Carl says what he is going to do, and then does it, in a very pleasant manner. We highly recommend 5 Star Construction as a trusted home builder/ re-modeler.

The renovation is beautiful! The new third floor space is a wonderful, bright cozy space for my mom! The bathroom is custom done, with a gorgeous, modern shower and a high power commode. The wood floors are wonderful and the space is just perfectly laid out. The walk-in closet is fabulous as well. It has multiple racks for clothing and a shelf all around the top. The general contractor in charge could not have been nicer or more accommodating! He willingly met with us, even on a Sunday, to answer questions and go over work that had been completed. He made the trip to Home Depot with us to help pick out doors that would work in the space. He gave us the personal touch every step of the way, gladly giving out his personal number and always responded, no matter how basic the question or problem. He always came and checked on the work done by his subcontractors, even having them redo things that were not to his standard a few times. His personal investment is obvious and he certainly gave this job his utmost attention and care. Will most definitely use him again and would highly recommend to anyone needing anything under the general contracting umbrella!

There are not enough words to express my gratitude to Carl and his crew for the beautiful job they did on my tub to shower conversion. From the moment I met Carl I knew he was the right choice for the job. His honesty, punctuality, knowledge, and attention to detail could not be more appreciated. He was with me every step of the way and bent over backwards to meet my timeline of having the job done in time for my mother to move in with us. I’m thrilled to have found someone I can count on for all future jobs small and large. He even knows the correct way to place the toilet paper roll on the holder!

Carl and his team were prompt and friendly. They had repaired siding on the addition of my house and fixed a mold issue that had been building up over 5 years. Carl and his team had repaired this problem and also repaired the damage to the interior and exterior of my house. They had excellent service and generous with helpful tips to prevent further issues. I would definitely hire them again for additional services.

The guys were on time cleaned up the yard of any nails and wood as I have 2 dogs so I didn't have to worry about them stepping on anything. Extremity nice guys would absolutely hire them again.

They were there on time and cleaned up each day after finishing. Couldn't be happier with the work they did.

We found out that we had a leak from the toilet in the downstairs 1/2 bath when having the crawl space encapsulated. Kelli from Five Star Construction took my call on a Sunday and had Kevin out to the house the following Tuesday to provide me a quote. Work began 3 days later on Friday and was completed the following Wednesday. Kevin did an outstanding job replacing the rotted out beam in the crawl space with very limited space. He verified that the floor joists were all good and didn't need to be replaced. He also replaced the rotted subfloor in the bath, which had been incorrectly repaired several times before (not known until he started pulling up the subfloor), requiring him to build up the subfloor and reinstall a new toilet flange. He also replaced the laminate flooring and reinstalled the wall trim and toe molding. Kevin was extremely conscientious and courteous throughout the whole process. He was a professional and did an excellent job. I have several more projects and will run them by Five Star Construction before getting quotes from other contractors. I would not hesitate to recommend this company to family and friends.

I received a phone call very quickly after submitting a request for a quote on the repair. Others took longer to respond and some never did call or respond to the request at all. Carl came out within a week and gave a very reasonable estimate. He explained that if he found damage to the joist below the cost would be increased but he could not determine how much damage had been done by the leaking toilet until he pulled the flooring and damaged sub floor up. He showed up on time and was honest enough to give us the good news that the damage was limited to the subfloor so the quote was the price. He did good work and left the floor and the bathroom completed and clean. It is always appreciated when someone cleans up and doesn't create a project for me after they leave. I will be using Five Star again as they are qualified to do a lot of different work and I have several projects in my home that need to be done over the course of the next couple of years.

Carl was very accommodating with regard to my specific needs. He even showed me how to fix the wall damaged by wallpaper removal so that I could paint it myself. Both men were polite, professional and did a terrific job.

Carl was very professional in his work and management of the project. He always returned our many calls and texts. If he could not handle a problem at the best price, he would give recommendations of other vendors to try. The house was my daughters first house and he made sure she was happy with the work and gave her ideas to cut her cost. Carl even told her of things she did not have to do, to save her money. Carl would be mine and my daughters first call for any future projects.

I submitted a request for contact through Angie's List. The owner of the company promptly contacted me within a day or two. We scheduled an agreeable time to have someone come out to look at my master bath and provide an estimate. On the designated day, two gentlemen came out a few minutes early. We discussed some ideas for how to remodel the bath; they took measurements of the space. They left, promising to get back to me within about a week with an estimate. A week went by and I heard nothing further. To give them the benefit of the doubt, I wrote an inquiry to the owner through Angie's List. That same evening, one of the men who had come out to do the measurement called and left a message indicating he had information for me. I returned the call the next day. He promised to email me a sketch of what we discussed and some preliminary numbers to work with. Nothing arrived. He called and left one more message, again promising to send the information. Three weeks later, I've received nothing further.

Carl met us to discuss our options and the scope of the project. He was unhurried in his approach and took the time to explore various ideas/options giving his thoughts and recommendations. We were most impressed by his commitment to getting the work done in a timely manner and with a dependable crew. He explained that he would likely be on site every day supervising the project. Carl has a great crew - they are skilled, professional and very considerate. As promised, they were in our home every day, on schedule - even during pretty lousy winter weather and our turnaround from start to finish was 1 week for a complete overhaul of our bathroom. No surprises, no stress. Just hard work and a beautiful end result that came in ahead of schedule and right on budget. We would not hesitate to recommend Carl and Five Star Construction and plan to call on them again as we have other home projects in mind!
