Mr. Wright came by and inspected my roof, finding that my builder grade, 24 yr old roof needed replacement. His estimate came two days later and I scheduled the replacement work for about 4 weeks out, to meet my schedule. His crew arrived on time and went right to work. They cleaned up well, using a magnet device to find any nails. ( I later swept the area with my metal detector and found only 1 wayward nail). Due to the lateness of the day, they asked if they could retrieve their dumpster trailer on the following day and I agreed. They picked it up the next morning and we did the final walkdown/inspection. All went well. I waited several weeks to post this review so I could experience a couple of rain events. Well, roof performed well, no problems. Good company, good followup, and good price. They were the only estimate I got and went with them due to excellent reviews on Angie's List and my interactions with Mr. and Ms. Wright. I highly recommend them.

We had a big rainstorm and bad roof leak on night. I called CL Wright Roofing the next morning at 7am. They sent a crew out to cover the bad skylight by 9am. Later that morning Jo Anne Wright provided me an estimate for fixing that one particular section of the roof. I asked her to also provide an estimate for doing the whole roof. Within a couple of days, she called back with the estimate. I accepted the proposal and they put me on the schedule for the same week. The crew showed up on time and got the job done efficiently. The crew also cleaned up thoroughly afterwards. Jo Anne was great to work with as she responded promptly to my messages and quickly provided me the information I needed. She also adjusted her crew schedule, due to rain the day before my job, to keep my job on track.

I joined Angie's List on Sunday evening, 9/26/2010. I immediately searched for roofing repair and found about a dozen options. Looking at reports by others and information about the vendor, I sent a request for an estimate to C L Wright. Early the next morning, I received a call from Jo Anne and we discussed the repair. She gave me a estimate over the phone and we agreed to a repair time the next day at 2:00 PM. I later sent Jo Anne a photo of the damage to be repaired. She was able to more accurately estimate the repair and we agreed to continue with the scheduled appointment. On Tuesday, the 28th, I decided to head home to be there when their staff arrived. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the repairman, Buster, arrived on time, and was very courteous. He performed the repair work and, afterwards, showed me what removed and described what he did to make the repairs. I was very, very pleased and impressed with the entire transaction. And, with the extensive rains we had over the several days after the repair, I can say, with confidence, that their work fix the issue. I would gladly do business with them again.

I interviewed four roofing contractors for the job. I performed an extensive amount of research on roofing products and installation procedures prior to interviewing the contractors and getting quotes. Mr. Charles Wright, the owner of the company, was the person that came to my house to provide the estimate. Mr. Wright is a very professional person, he is a CertainTeed SELECT ShingleMaster, and he was the most knowledgeable of the four roofers that I interviewed. Also, Mr. Wright is a 3-Star approved installer of Velux skylight which was important to me since I was having seven sky lights replaced and I wanted to ensure that I would have no water leakage problems with the skylights. During the interview process, Mr. Wright listed attentively to all my questions, concerns, and procedures that I wanted followed during that tear-off, installation, and job clean-up process. He personally went up on the roof of my house to perform his assessment of the scope of the work required to perform the work. After listing to what I had to say and performing his assessment he presented his detailed contract to me prior to departing the house. His contract was very detailed and addressed all my concerns. Wright Roofing started and completed the job as scheduled. It took 2 ?-days to remove the old shingles and skylights and replace them with the new products. The team that did the work was courteous and professional. Mr. Wright came by each day to inspect the work and to address any questions or concerns that I had. I have an extensive amount of plants around my house and there was no damage to any of the plants. The clean-up was good with the exception of nail removal. Shortly after the team departed I found a few nails in the driveway. I called the company and they had a person back to the house within an hour to perform another magnetic sweep of the driveway and the yard. Having a roof replaced is not a fun project. It is a very noisy and dirty project. However, if you are looking for a quality contractor to get the job done correctly I highly recommend C. L. Wright roofing.

very well, called when running late, job was quickly done and properly done, follow up when finished, when problem arose the owner was on the scene and quick to return phone calls. Only issue was workmen left food around dog who ate it and got sick

They were a pleasure to work with from start to finish! Very professional. They did not mind that I was the most indecisive customer in history. I felt very comfortable asking questions. Compared to many other contractors I have worked with, they are VERY customer-service oriented.

CL Wright Roofing fixed a persistent roof leak that other roofers and siding professionals couldn't fix. We had six other people/companies make repairs over the course of about six years. (I'm not exaggerating!) Mr. Wright showed up when he said he would, provided an accurate estimate, and promised me he'd get it fixed. The roofers showed up as promised, did the repair, and cleaned up as promised. Unfortunately, the roof leaked a couple of months later during a hard rain. Reluctantly - since I was used to battling roofers on getting additional repairs - I called CL Wright Roofing to let them know it still wasn't fixed. Mrs. Wright said she was sending out her brother-in-law to look at the siding. He showed up as promised and said he wasn't going to leave until my issue was resolved. I wished him, fairly sarcastically, "good luck" and went inside. He spent a couple of hours investigating and doing repairs and left. We've had two major downpours that would have leaked tremendously prior to the repairs and I'm so thankful to report that the leak was 100% fixed! CL Wright Roofing is absolutely the best in Richmond for finding and repairing a leaky roof. When it's time to replace our roof, I know who I'll call!

Initial appointment and subsequent work were scheduled quickly and they showed up on time. I met with the owner for the estimate and he was punctual, professional and I feel like he gave me a very fair price on superior products. The work was done correctly and quickly with only one very minor problem that was fixed immediately. Great company. I'll call them for estimate first when I need a new roof.

I had contacted three diferent roofing companies to get an estimate for my leaky roof. Mr. Wright was the last to come out. I explained that I knew I needed a new roof but at this time that was not possible. My wife being in school we need to make it until next spring. Mr. Wright looked at and determined he could fix my roof to get us by until next year. He saved me over $400 dollars. When it comes time next year Mr. Wright will be first on my list to call. Anyone willing to help someone in time of need is definitely on the top of the list.

Mr. and Mrs. Wright, of CL Wright Roofing have a great track record on Angie's list, and I had used them years ago to clear an ice dam. I was happy with the estimate process, and Mrs. Wright made sure to help me locate homes nearby that had colors I was considering. I almost chose a color that was too light, but Jo Anne urged me to find a home to make sure I liked the actual roof color, not just the sample and computer simulation. The crew Jacob led was very efficient, prompt, and skillful. They worked diligently for long hours, since the job entailed more work than expected due to rotten wood that needed to be replaced, and forecasted rain. The skylights took a lot of work, and I think the charge for them was very reasonable. They are much better quality than what we had, and tonight in heavy rain, we could hardly hear it. The crew was friendly and worked well together. The crew leaders respectfully and cheerfully answered my many questions about the project. .I would highly recommend the Wright's, and know that they will be around in the future to support their excellent warranty, though I doubt I will need to use it.

I just moved into this house last September. The old gutters were terrible: they were pretty narrow. They were also made of fairly thin metal, so they had bowed out in several spots. In heavy rainstorms, they just couldn't take the volume of water and I had water falls in several spots where the gutters bowed out. Also, part of the gutter was missing in the back. Unfortunately, that was right over the back door, so if we went out side in even the lightest rain, we got dripped on or poured from the roof. So, the outside of the house was very wet after every rain fall, which probably explains why the basement is so humid. So, I got 4 or 5 estimates last fall to replace the gutters. None of the other companies inspired much confidence in me (some engaged in some very high pressure tactics). I wasn't really happy with any of them. But, in June, I called C.L Wright Roofing for an estimate and I was very satisfied with the both the estimate and the type of gutter proposed (heavier gauge aluminum gutter that was wider with bigger downspouts than any of the other companies showed me). Their estimate was about the same amount of money as those other companies (most fell in the range of $1000 - $1300, but one estimate to replace the gutters was $1800). Once I signed the contract, the work was scheduled very quickly (in less than 2 weeks). On the scheduled day, the installer was prompt and the quality of the workmanship was excellent. Cleanup was very good (we just found 2 old brackets from the old gutters under a bush, I can understand how they missed them). Another reviewer said this company did a very poor of cleaning up: that wasn't my experience at all. Also, we have a koi pond very close to the front of the house and none of the work debris ended up in the pond, thank goodness! So, the work was done very carefully. I am delighted that the new gutters are actually keeping my house dry! They did an excellent job of matching the gutter and fascia color to the color of the old gutter and the existing fascia. The only thing I didn't like was that they don't take credit cards (I wanted to be able to spread out the cost), but I had the cash in the bank for this job, so that's OK. Overall, I am very happy with how everything turned out. Thanks! It's so nice to not have waterfalls off my roof anymore!

Thanks to a thunderstorm with high winds that caused some of the shingles to come off about a month before we had the roof done along with the paper. Although it took the insurance adjuster longer to come out to give us the estimate for replacing the roof than it did to find a good roofer. Once we got through the insurance company we started looking for roofer via Angies List. We got 3 estimates but was impressed by C. L. Wright. Although they were a little bit higher than the other two what impressed us most was that he said it would take only one day to do the job whereas the other 2 said a day and a half and two days. They showed up on time and despite having to lay off the work for a few hours due to the 100 plus degree heat they did finish it before sunset. Again I would highly recommend C.L. Wright

It all started with what was a small leak around the chimney. After dealing with 2 other roofing companies it became a much larger problem. We had heard of Angie?s list and decided to give it a try. THANK YOU Angie?s List! We found Charles and Joanne Wright with C.L. Wright Roofing Company and our problem was solved. Charles came out and explained in detail what could be done if it was repaired again and gave the pros and cons to replacing the roof completely (the roof was 19 years old). We chose to go with a new roof for everything - the house, bow window (recently installed), garage and a small shed. He explained exactly what would be done and pointed out items that would be taken care of we had not realized needed taking care of. We visited their office and Joanne helped us pick the color of the shingles. She even took us outside so we could see what it would really look like in the sun. On the day scheduled, Jacob and his crew came out and did an excellent job. When Charles had told us they would clean up afterwards he wasn?t kidding. You could not even tell they had been here except for the new roof. We are extremely pleased with the finished product (my wife especially likes the way they redid over the bow window). The job was completed on time and for the quoted price. Everyone at C. L. Wright was very nice to deal with and most helpful with any questions we had. We are very pleased with the company and the work they did for us.

Wonderful! It was very professional. They explained all of the options, did all of the work in one day, and cleaned up beautifully. They were on time and on budget.

Mr. Wright gave me a quote earlier in the spring. I was very impressed with the guarantee that they offer. The workers who came were very professional and worked hard to complete the work. I especially appreciate the fact that Mr. Wright had an engineer come and inspect some structural issues. Steps of the process were explained to me and options were presented to me in a very comfortable manner, not in a panicky kind of way. That was extremely important to this customer. Overall, I felt very comfortable with the experience and would highly recommend that this company do your roof and gutter system.

They are premium gutters and the guy did a great job. He did it correctly and very quickly. One guy came out one day and finished up in a couple of hours on the next day. He was quick and proper. They work perfectly.

Staff of 3 worked hard all day in 90 degree heat!! Arrived on time, cleaned up old shingles!Beautiful job! No one at home, but crew went to work as soon as arrived very early in am.

The folks at CL Wright Roofing are great. Charles came out to give the estimate and explained the proposed job in great detail and answered all of my questions. Once I signed the contract, they came out on the scheduled date and completed the job within 2 and half days, as expected. They did a fantastic job cleaning up the job site - I have yet to find a single nail or piece of the old roof. The final cost was higher than the estimate, but that was only because they had to replace a lot of rotted roof decking. The roof looks great and has drawn several compliments from our neighbors! We no longer have to worry about using pots and pans to collect rainwater that used to drip into our house! I would highly recommend CL Wright Roofing.

They were very professional from the beginning. Even though we had had a lot of snow, they came and gave me an estimate on time. All through the process I was very impressed. I will definitely call C.L. Wright again.

All work was done promptly and professionally. The workmanship was excellent. Cost was moderate and very reasonable.

I had very high expectations based on AL scores. but I found the job to be mediocre. As is the way these days, an American comes out to sell you the service, but on work day, the crew of Mexicans shows up to do the work. They work hard and long, furiously. They move like acrobats with their speed, agility and acumen with the ladder ( on our very high pitched roof, a worker moved the ladder with his legs as he travelled the edge of the roof). They seemingly don't speak enough English to respond to my "Good Morning,"s which always makes me nervous in case there's an emergency. At any rate, they were on time (if not early) & got to work quickly. What made me cringe was the roofers repeatedly missing aim while tossing roof debris into the huge dumpster parked in my driveway (the dumpster left a permanent dent, incidentially) A bush was continually battered (altho covered with a tarp) . It wasn't pretty from the snow anyway, still I would have appreciated better aim. Since the noise was defening, I left for the day, only to find them still there at 7:30 p.m.In fact, they worked almost till 9, when it was definately dark. They left their tools and a lot of trash.The next mornng it was drizzling, but they finished the roofing and did a cleanup. There were trash & nails everywhere around the perimeter of the house. While they got the majority, a tons of nails were left and dozens of small roof pieces. Again, I guess this is standards practice; they can't spend all day colecting pieces of roof, . I WAS worried about all the nails, since we have a small child and other children play in the yard, but the Manager basically said they get the majority & to call if there were many more (they have a magneticsweeper that collets the nails). Not very reassuring and frankly, it felt like a blow- off. So we will not be walking barefooted around here this summer. I found 6 nails just on the deck this morning, and we've done our own search and the job was 2 weeks ago. Granted the morning of the cleanup it was drizzling, still.... I expected more. The workers left a couple of drink bottles in the beds, and quite a few plants were ravaged by the ladders; I guess this unavoidable to a certain extent .Wish I'd had it done in February when very little plants were up and blooming. Also, the attic is an incredible mess with a layer of wood-dust and chunks and huge splinters on every surface. wish they'd told us to expect this. Ona final note, I thoght the clothes the company's representative the days of the job were unprofessional. Baggy oversized shorts and T's just looked sloppy. They remind me of toddlers in cartoons instead of businessmen. It' s not as though they were on the roof! They were just collecting the excess shingles and moving the dumpster. How about a collered knit shirt with the company name ad a pair of jeans or khakis?. Managers didn't hang around too long while the job was underway,, another fact I bemoan these days..

That went OK. They said they thought my roof was under warranty from another company.

I was very pleased with the work and professionalism of C.L.Wright Roofing, Inc. We had water leaking through the the attic down into the master bedroom especially with the heavy rains recently, and heavy snowfalls this winter. Mr. Wright came out promptly himself to do the estimate. He was prompt and professional. He explained in detail the scope of the problem and drafted a propsal in writing to us. His estimate was considerably less than the other 2 companies we had look at it and the for the same work. Mr. Wright's brother Keith did the repair the whole time, along with another employee the first day. We were very pleased with Keith who worked efficiently, but still had time to show us what it was he was doing the couple of times we asked him. The repair work was excellent, down to matching the paint on the trim. The best part of the experience was when Mr. Wright called to let us know that less damage was discovered to the wood underneath than originally estimated. So the cost of the repair would be $300 dollars less. How's that for great service and honesty? Highly recommend them; we will be using them again when it is time to do maintence on our roof.
