Had a great experience. It was easy to get in touch with them, the owner came out and gave me a fair price. He didnt talk down to me or like i didnt know what i was talking about. He explained what was needed and wasnt pushy. I had already sat through a bunch of estimates and he was the first one to not be pushy or dismissive. Then his quote was way less then a few other i had gotten. So i was suspicious of that. I found them here on Angies list and the BBB and they looked great. With all the good reviews and good scores to back them up and the price being what i expected (I think the other people inflated their prices because they saw a young house wife) i went with them. And I am happy I did. They came on time, they were nice, the roof took a little longer than i had thought it would but they kept me informed of everything along the way. Communication was great. I watched each part of the roofing proccess so im confident they did a good job and it looks great! THey also stayed right on the estimate, they had to go a little higher because of some damage to the roof decking but it was well within what they advised it would be at my estimate. Frankly, i expected it to be worse because the roof is older than I am but i was really pleased. Also they cleaned up my yard afterwards and got up all the nails. i was really happy about that. The only thing that they forgot was to reattatch the bathroom fan hose back to the vent. But thats easy to miss when your on the roof not in the attic and the job ran a little longer. so i certainly understand and it was a quick fix anyway. Even with that they had wonderful service and did a great job. I would certainly recommend them to family and friends and i would use them again myself. In fact i have them coming out tomorrow to put gutters on my house. It was scheduled for a few weeks from now but they had an opening and got me in sooner. How is that for service! Awesome!

Description of Work: Needed repair/replacement of old copper gutters and an estimate for replacement of a pergola with a roofed porch. Found C.L. Wright on Angie's list in August 2011 and Jo Anne was very responsive to my emails. Charles was able to fit me in within the week, and was very understanding when I needed to reschedule due to my work schedule. Ten days later, he arrived promptly on the rescheduled date/time. He was professional and friendly, and I looked forward to working with him. He needed to involve a gutter specialist, which was fine, but difficult to get everyone's schedules coordinated. So 2 months after my original contact with C.L. Wright, our gutters were assessed by the gutter specialist. I really wanted at least 2 estimates for these jobs, but 10 days later I still hadn't received an estimate from Charles. While Jo Anne responded promptly to my follow up inquiry about the estimate, I was already unsatisfied with the delays and wasn't willing to take the chance that the same thing would happen during gutter installation and porch roof job. I gave an "A" for punctuality b/c they consistently showed up when scheduled. The reason I gave a "D" for professionalism was that it seems unprofessional to drag a customer along (every communication and follow up between me and this company was initiated by me -- I was bound and determined they were the right company to to do the job for me!). I understand that Wright Roofing was very busy last fall, but I would think that most customers prefer that a contractor be frank about scheduling limitations so that the customer can move on to request estimates from other contractors. Addendum 4/9/2012 - Thank you Jo Anne for your response. Just to be clear, I rescheduled just one time due to my work schedule (not 2-3 times). I also want to be clear to any other potential clients that I am not a high maintenance client - in fact, I was particularly flexible and understanding with Charles and the other contractors because of the bad weather last fall. As I mentioned, it took several weeks to get everyone to the property at one time for a weekday appointment (October 10). This was understandable. What was not okay with me was the ongoing delays/lack of communication, and the fact that no estimate was provided to me until I called Donnie (a subcontractor) --- and the combined quote for gutters and framing that he gave me in late Oct/early Nov appeared pretty inflated.... all of these factors lead me to believe that Charles really wasn't interested in the job in the first place. Just wish he had been honest about this so I could have moved on to another contractor before winter. Worse, and not mentioned in my first review, Charles and the gutter tech left copper gutter and wood trim (off of my house) in my front yard after our appointment on October 10. The copper and wood remained in the yard until JANUARY 16 when another contractor to put it back up for me. Unacceptable. I have changed "quality" from N/A to "F" based on this factor.

I am sorry about any disappointment you may have. Yes, we were extremely busy handling all of the emergencies and devastations to homes that were effected by the Hurricane. This continued from September through the Holidays. I know there were 2 or 3 appointments that were cancelled, over a 4 to 6 week period, due to your work schedule, and that we did eventually get all 3 of you together one morning. Mr. Wright came out and wrote up our estimate. He was very nice and explained the process in great detail and provided a wealth of written information that was very helpful The warrantly his company provided far out-shined those of others we had consulted. The work began as scheduled. It did take a bit longer than originally stated, but we did have more damage underneath the shingles than could be known prior to the shingle removal. The work was done with great quality and the guys did a great job of cleaning up. The roof looked beautiful upon completion. The roofers did inadvertently discard our gutter guards through the roofing process. I informed Mrs. Wright (who always answers the company phone) of this, but did tell her it wasn't a big deal as we had pretty cheap guards on the gutters. She told me that she would have someone come out and replace the gutter guards with their product at no charge to us. In a couple weeks time, we had new gutter guards that were far and above the quality we originally had. Mr. and Mrs. Wright were both wonderful folks to work with; both very friendly and professional. They made our satisfaction (not to mention their work) a top priority. I can't recommend this company highly enough.

We had a leak in our downstairs ceiling at the wall. We were certain was coming from a breach in the siding somewhere. The siding company (through Angie's List, of course) came out and explained what they would have to do to find it. But we had also set up an appointment with C. L. Wright to examine the roof, just in case. Mr. Wright took a look at the leak, then looked in the attic, and then, from outside, examined the roof structure. He said he was certain it was not coming from the siding or the roof, but was from the plumbing air escape on the roof. The pipe was too tall (not to code) and, where it bent inside at the wall, the adhesive had probably given way from age. As rain came in, the pipe was leaking onto the ceiling between the floors. He gave me a quick estimate to cap it. I must say that I thought his idea rather far-fetched. But, for the money, I couldn't pass it up. A week later, they capped the pipe in fifteen minutes. The next night, we had a terrific downpour and expected to see water on the ceiling the next morning. We were astounded to find the ceiling absolutely dry. Seems Mr. Wright was spot on with his assessment. We are grateful. He saved us the cost of looking for the leak in the siding.

From our first meeting to final clean-up, including a magnetic sweep to pick-up any stray nails, our new roof was installed over three days in a straight forward and professional manner. The four-man crew worked in a harmonious way with little or no down-time. On-site supervision was low profile but very effective with support from occasional visits by the project manager. Quality standards and attention to detail were obvious at all stages. If you're seeking a "no-nonsense", "get the job done", quality roofing contractor, this company comes "highly recommended" by us.

This is a reputable company with so many customers seeking them to do repair work. The only problem with this I have is I requested their service on approximately 11/17/2011 but didn't get the service done until 1/16/2012. The contractor who did the job was good but when he was finished, he vanished without a trace.
Description of Work: Furnished and installed apron and step flashing under rake overhang on low left side of home; also the same for white textured rake trim. Installed white vented soffit; checked all other wrappings of roof.

The one and only complaint that I could about them was that there was lot of roofing nails on the ground and around the house. They had a magnet to pick those up but I have a pretty big house and I there was quite a few. They did extremely good work and they completed the work as they said. It looked very good. They did an excellent job. I had no complaints other than the roofing nails about them.

Everything went so well. Right after my estimate request was e-mailed, the first visit for estimate was scheduled. Mr. Wright came out on time, examined four leaky skylights, diagnosed the problem, and gave me the solution and estimate. Mrs. Wright quickly scheduled for repair. Every time I asked questions, she replied promptly. Mr Wright came for repair as promised, and fixed the skylights. When he came for estimate, I asked another issue which was not mentioned in the initial request. He checked the roof for any damage, assured me the roof was fine, investigated the area of question for the cause of the problem, gave me some suggestions. Big appreciation to his courtesy.

The company's service was courteous, conscientuous and professional. from CL Wright and his wife, Jo Anne, all the way to Buster and Cristobal, the two men who oversaw the job. We wanted a quality product -- CertainTeed -- and a quality installation. We got both, and at a fair price. CL and Jo Anne kept us informed from the day with asked a bid to the day of installation, and Buster and Cristobal took it from there, completing the job safely and well, even with some weather challenges. Constantly communicating with us during the job was a big plus. We were also impressed with the way that they draped our home with tarps to keep the siding safe and clean. Job cleanup was well done. We would recommend CL Wright Roofing.

C.L. Wright Roofing was very responsive when I first contacted them in early December about fixing a set of problems in my roof. The problems were critical because water was leaking into the living area. They came out quickly to try a temporary repair for $155 since they weren't able to schedule me until January for a full repair. The estimate process was painless and they were very instructive and helpful, and the temporary repair held up great. Unfortunately they weren't able to hold their initial estimate for when they could perform the full repair and had to postpone it due to being extremely busy, and the full repair didn't take place until January 17. Given the 6 weeks between the quote and temporary repair and when they actually came to do the full fix, I was surprised that I didn't get a reminder call or any sort of attempt to coordinate beforehand. On the day of the job, I took off work in the morning. The appointment time came and went. I called the main number, and the operator wasn't sure where the technician was, and she had to track him down. It turned out that they went ahead and moved me to a mid-day slot without telling me. I then had my fiancé take off work mid-day since I couldn't cover that timeslot. The technician who came to do the job wasn't the same person who gave the estimate or did the temporary repair, so it turned out to be critical that she was there to tell him what was wrong. In all, the repair took about 4-5 hours. At the end of the job, the technician just left without saying anything. It took two phone calls and then a call back from the technician to figure out that the job was indeed complete and we could go on with our day. I got the sense that the company's extremely overworked right now because when I called to ask why they hadn't shown up on time and then to figure out if the job was done, the operator was flustered and unapologetic. It was kind of a "that's the way it is" attitude. In my mind, I was paying a bit more than I had expected for this repair because I thought I was in good hands and was going to get the fantastic service that all of the other reviewers have praised. I came away from the entire experience (over 6 weeks wait to get a repair scheduled, missed the appointment in the morning, didn't bother to say when the job was done, flustered on the phone) feeling like they just had better things to do and that this job just didn't matter. Hope that I don't have more problems with my roof in the future, but if I do, I'm going to try my luck with another company.

I am sorry you were disappointed with the service. Upon receipt of your proposal, I personally called you and gave you the scheduled work date. You were informed if anything changed, you would most definitely be contacted. The first technician that came out was not a technician, but the owner, Charles Wright. The operator you spoke to, was not an operator, but again, the owner, myself. I was not flustered, but merely informed you that we had to complete the job from the previous day and called our brother, your technician, to give you an approximate time. Again, we were on schedule for the day you were told. We do not commit to exact times 6 weeks in advance. Your technician did not need instructions of the work to be performed as he had the contract with him and had spoke to Charles in advance to arriving. I did speak to him about not informing you that he was finished and that he had completed the work on your contract. This should have been done and I apologize for that. I thank you for the A on quality which is most important when getting work done. I do question the other grades based on your review. I called them to repair the leaks that were forming in my roof.. I felt they were professional , and I was very happy with the work they did. If need be, I would call them back again.

If Angie's List had an A+ rating I would have given this company one.
Description of Work: Mr. Wright diagnosed and fixed a persistent leak after other roofers had tried and failed and he was very courteous as well as patient when he carefully explained what he proposed to do to solve the problem, quoted what I considered to be a reasonable price and completed the work very efficiently then and there. It has rained heavily since then and I saw no signs of further leaking.
