Description of Work: Allen and his crew did a fantastic job removing the water damaged studs in both corners in the North side of my house and replaced all other supporting boards and trim work and resided the house with accuracy and care. Allen was easy to reach by more than one means of communication and if I had to leave a message, it wad promptly responded to. The work was professional and Allen is very trustworthy

Description of Work: Our experience with Mr. Rasnake was very positive. He showed up as promised and gave us a general price estimate based on the number of days projected to complete the work. His charge is labor by the day plus materials. Allen was asked to level the floor and minimize movement by reinforcing, adding and/or modifying the stringers under the house. It did require a couple of extra days since there were additional cement footers and blocks supports to be installed. And, requested that his crew replace a major beam of 40+ feet under the house. All of this work was accomplished in extremely cold weather with the men working in a crawl space requiring that they remain laying down while digging holes, pouring cement, and setting block. During the final stage of the job, Allen and I walked the floor to determine stability and levelness. During the project, he used a laser level which leveled the floor to within 1/8 of an inch. |We were happy with the work, and believe the price was fair. The men were courteous and willing to listen to our suggestions. A good group to work with.

Description of Work: My only disappointment with Allen was the length of time it took him to get to our job after our first meeting. In the end, he was well worth waiting for. He was very professional, kind and dedicated to doing a good job. I would certainly use him again in the future.

+ 0 moreAllen cane to assess the potential mold damage to our utility on Sunday, 8/19. He gave me an estimate very quickly and had his crew at the house early on Thursday, 8/23. They spent a day and a half removing the mold and set up fans Friday afternoon to dry out the sub-flooring over the weekend. As part of the process, Allen coordinated the safe removal of the old water heater with Jerry, the lead plumber at Absolute, who installed the new heater. He also came over on Sunday, 8/26, to check on the floor drying process so that the process could be completed on Monday, 8/27. He then came back on 828 to personally install shoe molding and trim the doors to ensure proper fit. We are so very pleased with his work on this project and also the time he spent in early September washing our house during a break between his other large projects. Allen and his brothers are so honest and are genuinely friendly and easy to work with. I hope I can catch him between his large projects in the future.
Description of Work: Allen and his crew removed the vinyl and sub-flooring in our utility room and replaced and dried out the layers of sub-flooring following the flooding from the old washing machine and water leakage from the old water heater. They coordinated the removal of the old water heater with the plumber who was installing the new heater and everything went extremely well. Allen set up large fans over the weekend to dry out the water logged sub-flooring and even came over Sunday afternoon to check on the process prior to scheduling the final installation of new sub-flooring on Monday. He then returned the next day to personally install shoe molding and trim the doors to ensure proper fit. He coordinated his activities closely with Wertz Flooring and Absolute Plumbing to ensure a smooth process for us. Allen also had available time between projects in early September to wash our house - another job well done.

+ 1 moreAllen and his brothers arrived at the agreed time and immediately began the demolition of the foyer floor. This proceeded quickly and by mid day, the first damaged joists were removed. Since the water damage extended to the band board, sill plate and several adjacent joists, it was necessary to re-frame the entire area - particularly around the entry door area. Since this house has a inset front entry, I wanted to change the joist arrangement at the entry to allow for a more suitable landing that could be better protected from water penetration in the future. Allen was quick to understand what I wanted and agreed that it made sense to improve the original framing design. Overall, roughly five full length joists were replaced - most of these were double joists. Additionally, several more adjacent joists were sistered for added strength. The entire job took just three days, which was less than the original estimated time. I was particularly impressed with the work flow and how efficiently Allen and his brothers coordinated their actions It was obvious that they had a lot of experience doing this type of work. Overall, I was very pleased with the result and would use them again for other services.
Description of Work: Remove approximately 96sf of slate foyer floor, remove mortar bed and sub-floor and replace water damaged floor joists around front entry and install new sub-floor. Also installed new entry door.

Description of Work: We recently purchased a 20 year old house and were aware that we had some foundation issues. The floors were sagging in some areas and bumped up in others. We had two estimates before we called Allen. The other companies were going to jack up the house which sounded great to us, but I wanted one more estimate. Allen came by and his approach was entirely different, something that had never crossed my mind. He planned to correct the issues and when he was done promised that the repairs would look more like they were part of the house so if we went to sell the house, prospective buyers would not see big giant jacks under the house. He planned to add more steel beams and install more piers. His price was a little higher than the others, but he came down to a price that I felt comfortable with as well as with him. He arrived on time and was respectful of my house. I gave him my key and went off to work. The job took three days and they cleaned up everything. It's like they were never there. We could not be happier with Allen's work and will definitely use him again in the future.

+ 2 moreit went fine - as with many home improvement projects, Allen encountered a significant amount of damage that was not visible until shingles on roof were removed. the job changed from replacing a few small sections on the eaves to basically redoing the roof due to the amount of disintegrating wood. despite this, Allen kept me informed of the problems in a timely manner, made suggestions as to how he could approach the repair and let me know in advance how much it would cost.
