Envirogrow

They did a great job. Nice deep plugs and plenty of seeds.

I purchased the Angie's List deal for aeration and over-seeding from Envirogrow. They contacted me very promptly and suggested a couple of add-ons, which I purchased the lime treatment. I asked for a Friday appointment and they said the first Friday appointment would be a couple of weeks away, which was fine. Then I received a call and they left a message they were showing up on the following Monday. I was worried about a drainage pipe in my yard, which is why I wanted to be here. So they told me to mark it and they would know it was there. So I put three small markers in the yard. The problem with not being here is that they stopped aeration and seeding past the three little markers. Wasn't much area but an area that was fairly compacted so I wanted it done. The other thing I noticed was that many of the plugs were about a inch deep which means they aeration machine was not heavy enough to go down deep enough to really aerate.

It didn't. The provider was unresponsive.

They were phenomenal! They arrived on time. Edged the flower bed, weeded and mulched. Trimmed out bushes and weeded and mulched that bed as well. It looks incredible! I would highly recommend!

We're having twins this summer and already have a two year old - so any thoughts that we'll have half a day every weekend to cut the grass just need to go. I signed up in early April for a deal for mowing for the season. So far, it's been great. So nice to not have to They trim the edges of the lawn, cut with I guess a weed whacker any edges along fences, etc (and we have a lot of those), move chairs and kids toys off the lawn. In and out in about 30 minutes. Between this and the weed service we started last season with another company, we now have a showcase lawn. The only thing that's a little strange is some weeks they start at 7:30am - which doesn't bother us, but not so sure about our neighbors. Maybe this is because of the heavy rains we've had this spring they're cramming all the work in when they can.

I don't know I don't think it was what I expected, because they said that they would talk to me first that I could tell them what I wanted to done and they didn't confirm an appointment they just say that they would call in a certain week and never when I call to say what day of the week it's going to be for and when they reach Oh it will be on Friday and they never talked to me about what I wanted.

It was fine. I would use them again. They said they were going to email me or call before they showed up and then they showed up on a day that didn't work for me so I just talked to them and we rescheduled and that worked out fine.

Most of the services rendered were fine with several exceptions. 1) My lawn is fairly graded, and the mowing crew would use a heavy mower. After rainstorms, this mower left tire tracks across my lawn, leaving streaks of bare dirt in the front and back yard. After numerous emails, phone calls, and in-person visits, Envirogrow attempted to correct this damage. Twice, they attempted to seed the now-bare patches in mid-summer and late-summer, hoping that the grass would re-grow. After months without resolution, most of the damage was finally covered by several strips of sod. This worked better than grass seed, but was poorly blended and was applied after the mowing season ended. Once the season restarted, the new mowing crew had made the same mistake and begun to tear up more grass in my small yard. This problem was addressed; however, we spent half the year with a torn-up lawn. Further, the amount of time it took to get Envirogrow's attention was undesirable. 2) I purchased the "One full year of lawn and landscaping services" deal to avoid having to micromanage my lawncare services. After calling to inquire about scheduling many of my services, I realized that I would have to call and request the services that I had already paid for, or I would be skipped or scheduled in an undesirable slot (e.g., scheduling leaf cleanups early). For example, the deal clearly states that weekly mowing and weeding is to be conducted during the season, between April and November. Six weeks into the season my property has already missed 2 mows and 5 weedings. I have emailed and called Envirogrow repeatedly about this issue for 5 weeks. In general, there seems to be a reluctance to help, and the answer is typically that problems are solved and things are scheduled for some future date. Envirogrow offered to "make up" for missed services by tacking them onto the end of my service contract. While appreciated, I noted that I paid to have my lawn maintained for a year, not neglected for months then caught up later. 3) This deal included winter pruning. The crew shaped my azaleas rather than prune them. The shaping (just cutting them back in large swaths) resulted in fewer flowers this year. 4) In general, I have noted that only about half of my phone calls and emails are responded to at all (regardless of the response). Whether or not work it is being addressed, going 5 or more business days without so much as a response is not acceptable.

The service itself went well, after a little more than a month the new grass is growing in nicely. The communication with the company, however, was less than impresssive. I responded to the intial email from the company after I purchassed the deal to schedule the service, only to be told that I was contacting the wrong person (I contacted the person I was instructed to in the email). In fact, the response I recieved was quite rude, along the lines of "how did you get this number, why are you calling?" I was then informed that the "correct" person would call me back. They didn't. It took me almost a week to actually get someone to respond to me, and even then only by email. Their email included a google map of my neighboors property informing me they would be there the next day. Thankfully I was able to get it corrected to my property before they showed up, but I could easily see them doing the wrong house because they can't be bothered to actually interact with their customers.

It turned out well. They were here in November of 2015. The best is the price and the value. The worst is a little bit less than stellar communication from customer service. It costs $169.

Tried to book service and found it very difficult to reach someone. When I booked our first service for our seasonal mowing they confirmed a start date, and explained that if it rained our service would be pushed back two days. It did not rain and we still did not receive service. After calling again a few times I was able to reach someone who told me that my service had been rescheduled. They didn't show up on pre-appointed time and when I called again I was told they would arrive between 10am-2pm, at 3 they hadn't showed up. At this point, we cancelled service with the provider and requested a refund through Angie's List. It was such a headache trying to reserve our first service that we did not want to deal with it for the remainder of the season. What's ironic is that they did show up that day, sometime around 5 pm I think. Clearly there is a breakdown in communication since the mowers arrived late and were not told that we cancelled service. I'm sure they would have done a fine job, but overall I felt a lack of urgency and professionalism. Owner did reach out to smooth things over after we requested the refund which was nice, but it was just too late. We rebooked with another provider who was proactive, responsive, and showed up when they said they would.

Following a call this fall for a quote for service, my lawn was visited by someone that actually knows something about zoysia Lawns! Unlike regular grass in this area Zoysia goes dormant and has different cycle for maintenance and such. The quote was quick and professional, service has been very prompt and quick. They Offer extra services so I'll update this at a later date, so far so good!

Wonderful service! These guys were professional and went above and beyond my expectations. They cleaned the mess winter made of my yard and flower beds, and even cleared areas I wasn't expecting them to do, such as the accumulation of leaves in a corner of my patio. They took great care with some flowers and bushes that come back each year; trimming them down so that they grow strong. I highly recommend Envirogrow and plan to use them again for future work.

The work was completed to my satisfaction. I provided a check to cover the cost of doing my entire lawn. I decided to contract mowing services with the,company.

Great job. I wish if they had done multiple passes of aeration but still good job overall.

Envirogrow came before 8 AM on 3/15/2016 and performed the "deal" through Angies List, which originally was to aerate and over seed, for 1000 sq yds. However, since I wanted them to do the entire front and back yard and add putting down a layer of compost Envirogrow provided a new proposal to cover the entire yard, a space of approx 11,000 sq ft. I originally signed up for the $117 deal in late November 2015, after getting my leaves raked. But Envirogrow said that the best time for what I wanted done was actually in the Spring. So I waited, and was scheduled for the work in March 2016. Envirogrow was very accommodating in providing the new "proposal", taking into account the original $117 Angies List deal and adding an appropriate cost for the extra space, including the 1/4 in of compost to complete the entire yard. Three people came and did a great job. We used Envirogrow the year before for aerating and over seeding, and will probably use them again in the future. They were very helpful, responsive to my questions, and maintained contact the entire time.

It was a little hard to see a major difference, and the pathways weren't as cleared as I would have liked -- I still get whacked by the bush branches when I walk up. However, we had a lot of shrubs and when I came home, everything did look neater. Next time I'd want to be there just to see what they do -- not because they didn't do a good job, just to get a better idea of what goes into all of it. The staff was very nice and helpful, and definitely was worth $179 to not do all that myself!

It was fine. They charged an extra $50 to vacuum up the leaves. I didn't like the extra charge and they weren't as timely as I had wanted. My interaction with them was fine. The work was good. They should be more timely. They should not add extra charges. The price was fine. Their punctuality was fine.

I waited to submit this review after the winter. To be frank, my lawn is a disaster. I am not sure what kind of seed Envirogrow used, but my rear lawn is practically non-existent, and my front lawn looks as it did prior to the service. Patchy, lots of weeds, and not at all what i had hoped for.

I purchased a $159 Angie's List deal for lawn aeration and overseeding. The company called me fairly quickly and we set up a day for them to perform the service. A day prior to the service, they called me to let me know that we needed to reschedule due to weather - not a problem. For some reason, Envirogrow came a day before the rescheduled date. I'm not sure why - they didn't contact me beforehand. But it wasn't a problem, luckily. The lawn looked well aerated and did have grass seed, though there wasn't all that much grass seed. Overall, I think that I got what I paid for, and they probably saved a bit by not using too much seed. I was pretty happy, given the price.

The only reason I did not give them an A for Punctuality and Professionalism was due to the start of our contract. I purchased the service through Angieslist and got an email stating that the mowing would start on a specific date, etc. There is apparently a breakdown in the communication to the Customer and the same communication to their mowing team. In other words, nobody showed up on the day they scheduled. I was concerned I had just paid for a big headache. So I emailed the company, and then called the owner. I left a voice mail, but he promptly returned it. He explained there was a mix up with the communication and that they would in fact be out a few days later. He promised, it would be taken care of, which was good enough for me. When I arrived home after work on the 2nd promised day, it was indeed mowed, trimmed, and all the grass was blown off driveway, away from pool decking, etc. That same level of great awesome service continued throughout the year. I expect I will renew my service with them again here in the next week, assuming the cost is still reasonable. They didn't always show up on the day they were scheduled due to rain and weather, but that is understandable and acceptable. They always came during the week so I never had to worry about being interrupted during any festivities in the backyard, etc. They were magic lawn mowing faeries who mowed the lawn on Tuesday's, so I could come home from work and see a great looking yard. I would use them again, I think they are great once you get through the initial setup. If the setup works well this year, then I expect my review will be A's all around at the end of the year.

On time, plenty of guys to help, cheerful, hard-working.

What a terrible company -- horrific customer service and lackluster work. We were shopping for a new landscaper and decided to try Envirogrow through an Angie's List Deal. Envirogrow was completely unresponsive from the start and never followed up regarding scheduling, despite calling them numerous time. After finally getting on their schedule by contacting them through Angie's List, the work was done poorly. Their overseeding service consisted of a single circle of seed in the middle of the yard. After trying unsuccessfully to contact them again, I gave up and used another provider to redo the overseeding. The worst part of Envirogrow was their shady billing practices. I pre-paid through Angie's List and didn't expect any issues. Yet, weeks after the work was completed, I unexpectedly received a bill demanding additional payment of nearly three times the original price. I repeatedly contacted the office -- always leaving a voicemail because their calls go unanswered -- to get clarification about the invoice and never received a callback. Months later, and without any further communication, Envirogrow sent the invoice to a collection agency. It is absolute extortion and deeply troubling that Angie's List would partner with a company that behaves so unethically. With a new baby at home, we don't have time to fight them and may just pay the unexplained bill to make it all go away.
