Description of Work: I called Southern Spa Service because my Hawk-eye hot tub had a slow leak. The owner came out and determined that the pump needed replacing, which he did replace. He also stated that it would be very costly to remove the foam insulation, to determine exactly where the leak was coming from and recommend that I purchase a liquid additive to seal the leak.

Description of Work: Proprietor travelled to my houseboat to inspect, service and repair the spa. He was knowledgeable, pleasant to deal with, patient with my questions, and gave me reasonable choices as to whether or not I wanted to replace parts that were optional. Diagnosis and repair was fast and accurate.

Description of Work: Called about a long standing. Kevin replayed promptly and we scheduled a service call within a few days. he came and assessed the situation. when he returned a few days later, he uncovered a defective valve, which he repaired at his expense. We also had a freak situation where the pump delivered to Kevin was defective with a crack on the intake side. He returned several times to diagnose and correct the problem by replacing the defective part. He was very sensitive to the fact our hot tub is inside so leakage and any leaks are a concern. Did I mention that I was never charged for anything beyond the original service call? Will I use Southern Spa again? In a heartbeat!

Description of Work: Southern Spa Services has repaired our hot tub as needed since we installed the tub in 1997. Kevin Spicer, owner, has always been knowledgeable and helpful. He explains the problem in detail and presents various repair options along with the corresponding prices. We plan to continue using this company for our hot tub repair needs and have recommended it to others. The last service date was to repair and replace a number of jets.

 + -1 moreThe owner of Southern Spa Services showed up a few minutes early to our Saturday appointment. He checked our hot tub out thoroughly which took around 45 minutes. It turned out that the circuit board and controller were fried. The owner was very knowledgeable and helpful. He definitely lived up to the positive comments from other Angie's List members. We came away with 4 options: -Let the hot tub sit there in the off position with no maintenance -Replace the circuit board and controller and do some general maintenance to get it up and running again-cost around $1,000 -Remove the hot tub permanently -Get a new hot tub My husband and I are now in the process of deciding among the options. If we decide to repair our current hot tub or get a new one, we will definitely contact Southern Spa Services.
Description of Work: Check hot tub functionning. We weren't sure if it was running correctly, and it had not been serviced for a couple of years.

Description of Work: This company has provided repair services as needed for our hot tub since we purchased it in 1997. Date and cost shown are for last service performed. Services have ranged from various minor repairs (e.g., replacing jets) to an extensive repair required in 2007 when a lightning strike ruined the control panel.

This is the second time I used this vendor and was as satisfied as the first. He trusted me to send him payment rather than having to pay in advance or be there at the time of the repair.

He patiently answered many questions I had about the hot tub. He took his time answering the many questions I had. I was pleased with the fee Kevin charged. It was an emergency call, yet the cost was most reasonable. I will definitely use Kevin again.
Description of Work: Repair of a hot tub. I had made an appointment with my dealer to repair a leak. They would not be able to come for nearly a week. The leak became severe during a cold snap, and I was afraid of jets freezing before my appointment. I called this company who advertised same day service. To my surprise, they came immediately.
