Overall, it went reasonably well after I insisted that he "finish the job" of giving us a working post light which turns on at dusk and off at dawn.

James arrived on time and completed the work in a professional and efficient manner. Since the job took only 1.5 hours and the coupon, purchased through Angie's List, was for 2 hours I was given a 1/2 hour credit towards future work. I plan to use this company in the near future to install two outlets on the front of the house. James also helped solve the mystery of a light switch at the front door that never worked anything by pointing out that it was most likely pre-wired to operate a post lamp if one should be installed. He indicated this wiring could be used to install the outlets, thus saving me money on the next job. I will definitely recommend this company to my friends and family.

Bought the deal as I wanted an outside outlet added and the best price I had gotten before was $250. They set appointment within a week and were here right on time. 2 electricians and when they looked at the job they advised that materials for the job would be $45. I agreed and they were done in about an hour. Since I had time left I asked to have a security light which was at the second story where it could not be reached with my existing ladder to be moved lower. They asked where I wanted it and then moved the light. They cleaned up and everything works fine.

They called to see if they could come early, worked quickly and fixed everything I asked for. Great service.

Very professional and fair, would use again

Service Technician came to review the work we wanted to do under the Big Deal and also provided quotes for other projects we have in the works. They arrived when they said they would and were very detailed in what they would do. The estimate is clear and easy to understand. Work was done on the day as promised and within the time frame. Tech was very neat and concerned with being tidy as he had to cut into the ceiling a bit. Job was completed and we were pleased.

They never returned our phone call so we went with somebody else.

James was prompt, friendly, courteous and performed the task as promised. I would hire this company again!

They came out and upgraded and installed additional outdoor outlets. They made sure everything was up to code and waterproofed. We had purchased an electric grill and it was on a Saturday. We found out that we didn't have electricity. We called them and the guy came out within an hour and did his job in about an hour. There was no weekend fee even though he came out late Saturday!

They showed up early, explained everything that they would do and the cost and asked if I wanted them to proceed with the job. I did and they were off to pick up some parts. They finished the job 2 hours later and were gone. Great service, great work (they cleaned up after themselves) and very friendly. I'll definitely be using them to install again.

The two contractors from Mr. Electric did very good work. Their estimate was about $600 lower than an estimate from a major contractor in the area (Robertson Electric). They came on time and finished when they said they would. They were efficient and courteous. Everything works as it should. Minor complaint -- they left pieces of wire insulation, copper wire scraps, and drywall debris for us to clean up. In general, however, we were very satisfied with their work, and would recommend them to you.

Serviceman got everything done in 2-hour time period (including time for getting into attic crawl space). I had no trouble scheduling an appointment at our convenience, and he showed up promptly. I have already used them a second time when we had problems with one of our light switches. I would definitely recommend them.

The work was excellent. I will used this company for all future electrical work. I got a timely response to my initial email and worked out a schedule where they came within a few days of my inquiry. The electrician was on time and professional. I was having my front door painted when he arrived and he worked around the painter. He offered several suggestions for additional services without being a hard sell (e.g., safely check, aging smoke alarms). After he completed the requested work, he volunteered to diagnosis the problem in our kitchen where the refrigerator and microwave would cut off (subsequent to our kitchen renovation) and gave me an estimate for correcting the problem (I had not asked that this be done when I originally called Mr. Electric). He also fixed the exterior GFCI same day, even though this was not on my original fix-it list. The cost was $120 ($100 for one hour labor and $20 for a GFCI) minus $18 for my Angie's coupon.

Angie’s List was running an offer for electrical services. I called them, and they came out. I told them exactly what I wanted, and they made it happen. They were in, and out in 30 minutes. They were prompt, and professional. I will utilize their services again.

Wow! These guys were fantastic. From the moment of first contact, they proved to be professional, capable and genuinely interested in performing their best for you. I purchased a two hour special deal from Angie's List and received far more than I bargained for. First, James came out and we walked around the house as I described the various tasks that I wanted done - everything from fixing 4 way switches to installing a new switch in the garage to replacing my outdoor heat pump fuse boxes. James patiently described what they could fit into the two hour block and the supplies I needed. He offered to provide some of the supplies needed - at a very competitive cost - or let me get them from one of the box stores. I chose a mix of both. On the day that they arrived, James brought two other excellent guys to help out. They knocked everything out in the two hour block and more. I was amazed at how efficient they were. I was also happily surprised that even though I bought the special deal, they treated me as if I was paying full price for their services. These guys were absolutely fantastic and amazing. I wouldn't hesitate to have them out again.

He could find the cause of the electrical problem I was having and resolved it for me. I would rate them highly, and I would use them again in the future if I needed to.

All work noted above was completed in a excellent manner. We had previously purchased new ceiling fans to be installed in our cathedral ceilings; however, the electrician informed us that the fans we purchased could only be installed in ceilings with less than a 19 degree pitch and our ceilings had a 45 degree pitch. The electrician accompanied my wife to Lowes to purchase new ceiling fans that could safely be installed in our ceilings.

Electrician was punctual, professional, and did a great job. I am very pleased and will call on him again when the need arises.

During the estimate, I was provided with good suggestions and advice. I had to return something back to Home Depot and he said that he would meet me there and we picked out the items I needed. When he came back to do the work, there were 2 individuals and they completed the work in a timely and professional manner.

This was an Angies list deal that I tried and am glad I did. James was knowledgeable, punctual, and fully explained everything I asked about. James also did a house inspection to note anything that might be an issue. Nothing noted, so the inspection was not done to garner future business. They seem to be a bit more expensive than some others, but I will definitely use James again, because of his professionalism and willingness to help. They treated me well.

Great! Representative was on time and ready to work, helped identify "mystery switches" and repaired wiring on one that was malfunctioning, knew his stuff and was most helpful.

It was great. He was excellent. They can the very same day. He came and changed addition sockets in our living room area.

This report is for the Richmond/Central VA office of Mr. Electric. We needed an estimate and guidance on getting a subpanel and generator set up for long power outages, a porch light replaced, and diagnostic/repair work on an outdoor light post and a ceiling fan in our 1941 home. This resulted in two visits as the solution to the light post required coming back with a helper. Both guys were professional, punctual, friendly and respectful of our home. They were also very knowledgeable, explained everything they were doing and didn't mind me asking questions. They found and corrected some safety issues while working on the repairs and gave us a written installation estimate and generator shopping guidance to help us finalize our plans for backup power. (They also supply and install portable and standby generators as part of their service, if desired.) Most of our past electrical work has been done by general handymen/contractors who also happened to do basic electrical, or were subbed in for another project. This is the first time we've hired an electricial-only firm, and the difference in experience and specialized knowledge was clear, particularly when it came to the more difficult problems that come with wonky old-home wiring. They probably aren't the cheapest in town but you can be sure they will do the job right and will not tack on inflated charges. They worked with me to make sure I was getting the best value out of the time they had to charge. A very good value for the money. A friend told me about Mr. Electric and I'm glad to further pass on the good word about this company here. I will absolutely use them again.
