Description of Work: Bought deal for wood floor refinishing, but when I contacted Frank's Flooring, he told me he doesn't do parkay floors. No work done, my money was refunded by Angie's List.

Description of Work: I purchased the deal for 100 square feet knowing I would be paying some extra since the room was slightly larger. However, Frank felt the room needed more work than the deal offered due to the condition of the flooring. The additional cost was more than I can afford at this time. In addition, the total cost he required was going to be more than putting carpet on the floor. Since I seldom use the room and am on fixed income, as well as have a reverse mortgage, this investment was not worth the increase in cost. Frank was friendly and nice, and if I could afford it and didn't have the reverse mortgage, I would have likely taken the offer. The date of our conversation is estimated.

+ -1 moreWe had hardwood floors in our entire upstairs, & had refinished two bedrooms & the dining room several years ago. I needed someone to refinish the floors and I was not interested in using the original company. Frank's estimate was significantly lower than the other two companies I got bids from, and he gave me the estimate within 24 hours of my call. I was able to arrange a start date about a week later, and he gave me very clear information about when they would start, what we would have to do while the floors were being done, when we could put rugs back down, etc. The work was begun on-time and finished on-time and they floors are absolutely beautiful. He had told me that the newly redone floors (which looked like they had never been refinished ever but had a lot of paint and stains on them) would be slightly lighter at the places where the hallway met the previously done floors. They may be slightly lighter, but the transitions between the new floor and the older redone floors looks outstanding. He filled in major nail holes, stained and put down quarter round molding and in general did an outstanding job. I would highly recommend him.
Description of Work: Hardwood floors sanded in large living room and hallway and closet (approximately 390 square ft of space) and 3 coats of polyurethane were put on the floors after sanding.
