James was very responsive and agreeable throughout the process. He scheduled my job on rather short notice, and performed the work himself. He contacted me at both the start and finish of painting. He did not request any payment up front, and unequivocally assured me that he could wait until I arrived in VA the following week to review the work before mailing a check. The job was very well done with absolutely no drips or other issues.

It was a pleasure working with Jim. He and an employee arrived at the agreed time and they promptly set up their equipment and began the agreed upon work. The job was completed in a very timely manner, along with their clean up and returning everything back to its proper place. It was a very positive experience. Definitely will use Barrett Painting again, in fact, I plan to use them later in the year for an additional job.

Very happy with all the interactions we had with Barrett painting. We ended up only receiving an estimate and then going with another painter but Barrett was prompt, courteous, and responsive.

Jim Barrett quickly provided an estimate and arrived on time for all meetings. Jim took the time to ask me the correct questions to ensure I receive the paint job I wanted at the price I needed. The crew was friendly, punctual, and professional. The crew went above and beyond in regards to the prep work. They spent more time and effort scraping and preparing the wood for paint then I have seen with some of the most expensive painters in the area. The additional prep work certainly paid off. The final product looks fantastic and came in on budget. Would I recommend this company? Absolutely, I actually have already referred Barrett Painting to a coworker and will continue to endorse this company. If you want a top shelf paint job at a reasonable price from an honest company, Barrett Painting is the one for you!

Mr. Barrett did a great job replacing some trim that had been damaged and repaired several holes and cracks in the drywall. He repainted the ceiling and the trim and also, painted some exposed wood around a door frame. I was very pleased with his work.

Mr. Barrett and his crew arrived promptly each morning and cleaned up each afternoon. Since we were anxious to move our belongings into our new home, they decided to paint to Saturday. The job was completed a head of schedule. Jim Barrett was here everyday supervising the work done. We can not say enough good things about Jim and his crew of painters.

Mr. Barrett and his employee arrived promptly and proceeded to quickly and professionally paint the first and second level shutters. I asked him about some surface problems on our front door and and he explained what the problem was and completed a final coat for a reasonable additional fee. We are very satisfied with the job Mr. Barrett did for us.

They did a great job! James came by to provide an estimate and discussed with me all the aspects of the job. He was candid about when he thought he could begin the work. He knew we were obtaining multiple estimates. He followed up with an email of his written estimate and followed up about our final selection (some of the companies did not provide timely estimates). They arrived when they said they would and worked diligently until the job was complete. They were neat and tidy. The employees were professional and informative every step of the way. James Barrett stopped by periodically to check on the progress and my satisfaction. The job was thorough and my house looks great! I would hire James Barrett again!

Jim was hired to paint a small room. His crew showed up on time and then were supposed to return the next morning to complete the job. Jim came by to inspect the work with his crew. Jim was unhappy with how some of the drywall looked. He insisted that the drywall be repaired before the final coat would be applied. After the drywall was repaired Jim's crew returned and finished the job. Jim is very professional and conscientious.

Mr. Barrett was great and did a wonderful job. He was lovely to work with from long distance. I will call him again!

Mr. Barrett offered a competitive price for exceptional work that was completed in a careful and conscientious manner. It is clear that he sees his work as a reflection on him/his business and took great pride in the effort. I trusted Mr. Barrett and his crew in my home. Coming home to the new paint job was wonderful. I walked throughout the home to examine the work and did not find any parts that needed touch-up or rework. He took extra measures to ensure a quality job that would last including additional coats on the doors where needed. He checked in with me during the time they were in my home to ask any questions around which he needed clarity. My house was cleaner after they left than prior to the paint job. His crew put all items back in the proper place, making it easier for me. It is clear that Mr. Barrett is passionate about his career and selects workers, who will paint/work in the same conscientious, skilled manner. I highly recommend Barrett Painting. Mr. Barrett (James) was very prompt and courteous throughout - from the day he came out to see the job for the first time, through the end of the work. His team was professional, friendly, and helpful -always willing to go out of their way to please. Once they started the job, they were here every day (weather permitting) until it was complete. James was here with them every day, ensuring that his high standards were met by the team. We met daily to review what had been accomplished that day, and to discuss what would be on the agenda for the next day. Being an active horse farm, he had to work around the horse care schedule, but he took that in stride and quickly learned what could be done and when. There were several repairs that needed to be made (siding and trim replacement), and this work was also done professionally and with high quality. From a pricing perspective, his quote was better than most others I got, and the final bill was just as quoted. He also adjusted the bill (downward) when we decided to switch from stain to paint. His attitude throughout was that he was willing to please, and worked hard to do just that. I would highly recommend Barrett Painting, and will definately call them for all my painting needs in the future.

Mr. Barrett really cares about the quality of his work. One reason I hired him over the other AL contractors I met with, is that Mr. Barrett is on site working with his team for the entire job, so he can oversee the work to make sure it meets his standards. He and his team did an excellent job of prepping and painting the exterior of my house and shed which were in rough shape to start with. At first, there was an issue with the color on the siding which he fixed right away and the color turned out perfect...exactly what I wanted. The color I had selected for the doors turned out not to be very complimentary to the siding, and he advised me in picking a different color which is much better. The end result is beautiful! He also fixed the door on my shed (which used to be held closed with a bungie cord), and took down the exterior lights on both front and back to paint the siding behind them since I had new light fixtures to put up, and then he installed the new fixtures too! My neighbors like my new-looking house as much as I do! Mr. Barrett also painted my kitchen which has a vaulted ceiling, 2 skylights, and was wallpapered. It was a job I couldn't do myself. Turned out the wallpaper couldn't be removed without a lot of damage to the drywall, and my budget wasn't big enough to cover all that drywall repair. I was afraid he was going to tell me I'd be stuck with the wallpaper, but he offered a work-around of using an oil-based primer over the wallpaper, and then paint over that. Again the result was beautiful! Mr. Barrett is very punctual, and called me every evening to make sure I was happy with the progress. I would highly recommend him, and will most definately call him again for any future painting projects.

Did not use because I found a company that would color match the caulk to my hardi-plank rather than paint the exterior.

Responded promptly to our call. Came out and gave us an estimate. Arrived on time and with proper equipment. His equipment broke during the job and he immediately went out and rented one in order to finish the job as promised. Trim was replaced. Overall we were very pleased with his work.

Mr. Barrett was great to work with. He was very prompt in coming out to give an estimate. Once I decided to use him he quickly gave me an estimated timeframe in which he could begin my job. He was good about staying in touch when the starting time changed by a few days. Once he started he was very careful and did an excellent job. I would hire him again without hesitation.

They were wonderful. The painters were on time and very polite and professional. They did an excellent job. Our house required extensive scrapping and two layers of paint on most surfaces. The house looks great!

Mr. Barrett showed up on time for an appointment to estimate the job. He engaged the project not just to get it done, but to think through how it could best be done. He completed the project ahead of schedule. He was dependable in showing up, and in cleaning up. He went the extra mile by helping us move furniture to prepare for painting, and to return everything to its rightful place after the painting. After the job, when we found a few small details that needed to be addressed, he returned to our home to finish the job.

I was dreading having to get my house painted. It was going to be a lot of work and expensive. So much depended on finding the right person to do the work. I am very happy to say that James and his team made it all a nearly painless experience! Prep work was superior and it showed once the paint started going on. It is rare to meet someone who cares this much about the quality of his work. The finished product was spectacular (I am sure it now looks better than it has in many, many years). And my assessment has been validated by many neighbors who have stopped by to admire the work. A few other points I loved about working with these guys: -They are always on time and reliably finished when they said they would -James would check in with me almost daily making sure that I was happy with the work and encouraged me to point out any concerns -The clean-up was superior. You would never have known they were there! James and team get my absolute highest recommendation. It is incredibly rare to find someone who cares so much about the quality of their work while also being incredibly reliable and easy to work with!!

The paint was peeling badly and required a great deal of preparation work. Mr. Barrett and his helper, Aaron, washed, scraped and sanded until the surface was ready. They then primed and finally top-coated the house. The results were better than I had expected. I think that Mr. Barrett was as pleased with the result as I was. They were neat, clean and efficient. They arrived promptly and did not leave the job (except for rain) until it was completed. I am very pleased with their work and would highly recommend this company to anyone needing painting work.

They came when they said they would come, were finished when they said they would be. When we had some problems with scheduling they were very good with communicating any problems and rescheduling. The people they had working for them were reliable,excellent and did great work. I was very pleased with them the, had excellent communication skills, and work ethic. I would would recommend them to my friends.

Jim provided an accurate, fair price for the job, demonstrated excellent work ethic by starting work by 8am and working past 5pm every day on the job and did excellent work. When he was not able to work (due to weather or another commitment), Jim always called in advance to inform us of this and scheduled a return date and time which he consistently stuck to. We found him to be very organized, diligent and skillful with excellent communication and customer service. Our paint job turned out beautifully. We would hire him again.

It took a crew of several men three days to complete the work. They were very detail oriented and did a nice job around the windows and the trim. They also cleaned up well after themselves and were very professional.
