Jim Barrett and his crew were wonderful to work with. Jim even came himself on a Sunday before they were scheduled to begin work and climbed onto the lower roof to put down a tarp because of a leaking ceiling. We had contracted with another company to have chimney work done, but when they climbed on the roof it caused some leakage. It was complicated because then we had to hire a roofer, but the roofer wasn't to arrive until later, so Jim Barrett came by himself and covered the leading area.

Jim Barrett and his crew of painters were a pleasure to work with and my wife and I are extremely pleased with the work they did and how beautiful our house now looks. We hired them to paint the outside of our house; and on the inside a hallway, stairwell, and foyer, two upstairs bedrooms, living room, kitchen, and bathroom. The cost for painting the exterior our 1912 fairly good size two story home came to $6,150 and the cost for the interior painting came to $4,500 and that included a closet and some drywall repair of a ceiling. As the painters were working on the outside of the house a leak developed during a heavy rain in a downstairs bathroom. It turned out that the roof over a single story extension was in really bad shape. Jim came early the morning after that hard rain and put a tarp over a downstairs one story extension where the leak occurred. He then recommended B&M Construction to repair my roof. All the major roofers were booked up for over a month and we needed someone to come soon. Jim told me B&M had done an excellent job on the roof of his home. His recommendation was a godsend as they came in short order and redid our roof and found a number of soft spots that had been leaking into the attic for years. Jim hires good people with high standards. I felt completely comfortable to leave them working in the house when I had to go out. And I found them to be personable, considerate and very professional in all that they did. They even painted a couple doors and touched up some places that weren't in the contract. Jim Barrett also came by the house every day to make sure the work was up to his standard and that I was satisfied with what they were doing. You will have no regrets if you go with Barrett Painting Inc.

Service was excellent. Sprayed stain blocker and taped spots where water damage had occurred. Painted family room/kitchen/hallway ceiling. Looks great and I was impressed with follow up to confirm I was pleased with the job.

We were pleased with the professionalism and promptness of Mr. Barrett and his crew. Everything went as promised from the time he showed up to give us the estimate to the daily work schedule. My husband and I were impressed by the time and effort that went into prepping the house before painting. Mr. Barrett is a man that takes pride in his work, and it shows. The only caution I will give is that he doesn't accept credit cards, so be prepared to pay with a check.

Jim and his crew were thoroughly professional, fast and straight forward. They transformed my tired old four square porch by scraping and painting the ceiling, floor, columns, window trim and front door. The price was very reasonable. We will definitely use again in the future. Thanks guys!!!

From the first phone call until the job was completed they were professional and the workmanship was first class. They arrived early and worked efficiently. They were polite and I felt comfortable leaving the house while they were working. They cleaned up after the job and left the premises cleaned. It was a very good experience and I will be calling Mr. Barrett again in the future.

Jim and his team were fantastic. They put multiple coats of S.W. Duration paint on all exterior paintable surfaces. The crew was prompt every morning, accommodating and professional. We will absolutely recommend them to friends and neighbors.

After seeing both good and shoddy work from numerous contractors during our house construction several years ago, we've learned to appreciate quality -- and suffice to say that James will be our painter of choice for our next house. In fact, we hope to engage him to undertake some interior trim caulking and crack touchup as soon as he is available. It's apparent that he takes pride in his work and has the technical experience to produce exceptional results. These are rare traits, and given the fact that the owner directly is onsite and, as an aside, is simply a "great guy" to chat with, we give him an A+ without hesitation.

After discovering Barrett Painting on Angie's List, I called and made an appointment to discuss the project at my home. Not long after that, I met Jim and went over all the details of the work to be performed. I was very impressed with his knowledge and professional attitude. He studied the painting to be done and wood repairs to be accomplished and gave me what I feel was a very fair price for the job. Within a few days, we agreed on the starting date. The paint crew showed up as scheduled and within 4 days the entire job was completed. They always arrived on time and professionally carried out their work. They consistently had a great attitude and took personal pride in their work. The "crew" was very responsive to a few suggestions I made and carried through in a positive manner to job completion. They were very tidy and always picked up after themselves. There is no doubt in my mind that I will use Barrett Painting for my future needs and highly recommend the company to my friends and acquaintances.

Jim did a great job painting the interior of our home. He was very thorough in explaining the various paint options and gave a very reasonable estimate for the work. He was prompt, courteous and his work is first rate. This was a large project and the work was completed in the timeframe we were given. We will definitely use Barrett Painting in the future!

This job required a lot of prep work on the 2 porches - scraping and sanding, plus a primer and 2 coats of gloss on wood surfaces. The shutters and front and side doors w/trim also received primer and 2 coats of gloss. The garage trim received spot primer on nail heads and a coat of gloss over the vinyl trim. The side garage doors, shed doors and shutters received 2 coats of gloss. Jim Barrett made sure all of the work promised was done according to his and my level of expectation. Whenever there was a question on the job being done, Mr. Barrett assured me that he would make things right regardless of any hiccups. All of the work done went extremely well and I felt comfortable throughout the process that he was true to his word. The painters were very efficient and cleanup was taken care of each day. My house has been transformed back into an inviting place to be. I would recommend Barrett Painting to any of my friends as Jim Barrett would provide a fair and honest estimate and stand behind his own high expectations of any work completed on your behalf. Jim and his crew did a phenomenal job painting our house. He is very good at communication, being honest when he could start and finish, and calling back to answer questions very quickly. Anytime you have a big job on a house things come up during the work that need to be fixed or changed. Jim was very good at making the adjustments we asked for during the job. He just wanted us to be happy with the end product. There were no surprise charges at the end. It was great to work with someone that you knew along the way of the project would make sure everything would be completed the way we wanted it 100% or he wouldn't be finished. We would recommend Jim without hesitaition for a job. In fact we are having him do our deck soon.

Barrett Painting did an excellent job, our house looks great and yes, I would hire him again. Here's why: His estimates of time to start and complete were spot on. He painted the full exterior of our house in about a week's time. He and his crew were friendly. We have three dogs, two of them old, and his crew worked around them as needed. Communications were good with daily updates either with Barrett himself or his lead on the job Chris. His work areas were neat. His ladders and other materials were kept out of the way and occupied only a small space. Our house is old and he did the substantial amount of scraping and prep work that needed to be done. The painting itself looks of high quality. Being late in the year, he worked around rain and temperatures that were highly variable. Barrett was responsive. During the job there were a couple of things needing to be addressed. They were done promptly. He was flexible, the house needed porch repair work prior to painting and the original schedule was to have the porch repaired before Barrett finished with painting. The contractor for the porch, not Barrett, had to delay his part a week. Once the porch was repaired Barrett, who had finished with the rest of the house, brought his crew back the very next day after and completed painting the porch. Barrett was fair. There was a misunderstanding as to scope of the project that was my error. This could have been a gotcha moment, but Barrett provided a fair estimate for the additional work. It is included in the $7,400 total price. At the end of the job there were only a few items that needed to be addressed. He had the punch list completed in half a day. I highly recommend Barrett Painting Inc.

They were diligent, polite and paid attention to details. The thing that impressed me the most is that when they arrived on time but saw that the dew was too heavy to begin work, they waited in the truck for the sun to come farther up and dry things off. No fuss, no mess. They got the job done.

They were on time, efficient and polite. I believe their prices are fair and competitive. One of my neighbors even engaged them for a small job when they were at my home painting. I have recommended Jim to my sister who needs to have her kitchen cabinets painted. I have always loved to do my own painting, but my age and health prevent it now. Barrett was the first contractor to respond to my request for a bid. They were also the lowest bid. The job started promptly as promised, but had to be postponed because of rain. Weather notwithstanding, they actually started-- and finished--- the job ahead of schedule. The work was excellent. The workplace was cleaned up after they finished, and I even received help relocating heavy furniture back on the dry deck. First class in every respect.

Jim and his crew did a fantastic job. Jim was responsive from providing the estimate, to flexible scheduling, to showing up on time, to charging exactly what was estimated. Work was quality all the way around. Would absolutely recommend Jim and his crew and look forward to using them again on all other painting jobs. Oh by the way. the bid from Jim was 1/3 of what other A-rated Angie's List providers were asking for the exact same work. Great price and great service!

They were on time, professional, and they knew what they were doing. They gave specific recommendations. They weren’t the cheapest quote but they were in the ball part. It was a good value overall.

This was a big, long job, taking 5-6 men about 5 weeks. They showed real professionalism throughout. They arrived each morning on time and were friendly despite days on 40 ft ladders. They tried their best to honor any requests I made. Jim made regular inspections to be sure the work was up to his high standards and would have some things redone if they weren't. After the job was completed, Jim sent two men back to the job when I discovered a few minor details that had been missed. Jim is a good and honorable man who I would be happy to work with again.

Arrived prior to agreed on time, which was definitely a plus in our book, Mr Barrett instructed his workers on what was to be done and the color scheme we had agreed upon and they went straight to work, including removing shades/ curtains, moved furniture as required to do the job, that aspect was a surprise to my wife and I, thought we were going to be responsible for that. I had to leave for work , while my wife worked at home that day and they were so considerate of our pets and of our residence, not a spot of paint where it wasn't supposed to be and even swept up afterwards. Came highly recommended from a mutual friend and when we need more painting done will DEFINITELY HIRE HIM AGAIN, THANK YOU MR BARRETT AND CREW

Jim and his crew is very professional. He responded my call the same day, and provided a verble quote next day following up with the written one. His man showed up on time, and did a great job. They cleaned up everything, and didn't leave any mess. I will definitely use him in future if needed.
