We were happy with the results except for the fact that the water temperature was left barely hot enough when it is turned all the way on. When I called back to ask him to set it hotter, he said that he left it set correctly, that the problem must be our water heater and that if he returned, he would have to charge another service fee. It is most definitely not our water heater, as the other bathroom gets extremely hot. Since the shower temperature is passable, I haven't bothered to ask him again to fix it, but it would be nice to have hotter water like we get in the other bathroom.

very well. the bad snow delayed them coming out, but they contacted me and it was fine, it was not an emergency. it was a maintenance issue. I had no problem rescheduling and they called me right before they got there.

The process went extremely well. Tim, the technician knew exactly what to do, and did it quickly and expertly.

Two workmen brought all the right tools and were done in less than an hour. We are so pleased.

In recent years we had hired many plumbers and carpenters to try to fix the problem, but it inevitably returned. Finally we got Syd to check it out. He got to the root of our problem, told us exactly what needed to be done, and steered us to the people who fixed it!

Upon my distress call to Std?s Plumbing, Tim returned my call promptly, asked meaningful questions to assess the problem and was able to come by within the hour. He proved to be an experienced, skilled technician whose attention to detail was at once apparent. Equipped with all of the tools of the trade, he arrives on the job with a truck that is well-supplied with plumbing materials. In my mind, Tim has the characteristics of a master plumber. Not he cheapest, but the perfect choice for those who want the best. Our house is over 100 years old and has challenging problems. We feel fortunate to be able to call upon Tim for the routine and the unexpected. PLEASE USE VERBATUM OR NOT AT ALL.

We would periodically find small amounts of water under our kitchen sink, and dripping down a pipe into our basement, but were unable to determine where it was coming from. The plumber who arrived from Syd's quickly diagnosed it-- it was coming from our sprayer attachment (only when the sprayer was engaged), running down the flexible hose, and dripping from there. He was able to repair the leak within half an hour, and he cleaned out and re-taped the attachments for the sprayer. The leak has not reappeared. The plumber was friendly and professional, and helped us identify the replacement part from the manufacturer in case we had trouble with it again. (The sprayer attachment is reasonably old and has a lot of plastic parts.) He arrived promptly, and left the repair area clean and dry.

Never responded to my inquiry (it's been 3 days). Went with Schreve McGonal (sp?) who called me immediately and serviced the same day.

I am extremely pleased with my experience with this company, and I recommend it without reservation. I feel very lucky to have found such competent, responsive, and friendly plumbers. A galvanized steel drain pipe in my 1950s-era home broke through when being snaked for a clog, creating an unexpected plumbing emergency, to which Syd and his colleague Tim responded promptly. The repairs turned out to be more challenging than expected owing to some ?creative? plumbing work done by a previous owner, but Syd and Tim were able to correct the problems efficiently and effectively. They also discovered an emerging leak in the main stack as well as an unexpected leak in a bathroom sink, both of which they also corrected, and Tim recommended some additional fixes that I should have done soon (I will be calling to schedule this non-emergency work in a couple of weeks). I could not be more pleased with the work they did, and they were both a joy to work with ? responsive, courteous, prompt, professional, very fairly priced, and very nice people ? something that one appreciates when dealing with an unexpected plumbing problem.

Syd arrived within an hour of my calling for an estimate for work on our sewer line. He was friendly, professional and quoted what I thought was a very reasonable price to dig up our front yard and replace broken and gaping sewer pipe. Syd was able to perform the work just a few days later. He was onsite for almost the entire day supervising his crew and and keeping us informed as to what he found once the old pipe had been exposed. He gave us honest advice and never pressured us to do more then what he thought was necessary. Syd and his team are all obviously dedicated to doing things correctly, so we knew we were in good hands. They went above and beyond to help us secure the line just under the foundation which we know could not have been easy to access and work on. After they finished the work, they left our yard in great condition. They sprayed down our walkway and driveway, and spread grass seed and hay. In just over a week we had grass again. I can't imagine many plumbing companies go to such lengths in their customer service. On the office side, Jacki is absolutely fantastic. Always prompt and friendly, she made communication a breeze and provided exceptional customer service that is hard to find these days. We couldn't be more pleased with our experience with Syd's Plumbing, and highly recommend them!

Syd's quickly responded to my inquiry and had two of his crew out to my home within two hours. I could tell immediately these guys had the 'been there, done that' experience and not just some technical training. They assessed the situation, called it into Syd and gave me an estimate there on the spot that I felt was reasonable. I told them I'd evaluate the quoted job and let them know by early afternoon. Compared to the other estimates, one being $7100, I thought $3800 was a good deal for the experienced crew and quality materials they said they would use. They committed to the getting the job done, water flowing and have my yard back to original condition and they delivered.

Called Monday morning to schedule service was greeted early afternoon and problem was resolved by late afternoon. The service technician was polite, professional, and dedicated. Took care of the work area and cleaned up afterwards.

I have never written a negative review about anything. I have hardly ever written a review period. But I was just hung up on by Syd the owner of Syd's plumbing. Seems that I have been "ungrateful and hard to please from the beginning". I do not understand this and in fact am rarely confrontative in any situation. I had a leak under the sink in the kitchen. Picked Syd's out from Angies List (in fact the first interaction with Angie's List). Tim came out to fix things. The garbage disposal did leak and he replaced this. But he discovered another leak from the faucet in the sink. I never heard back as to when Tim was going to return to do the work. So I called the office and spoke with the receptionist and expected her to get back with as to when Tim would come. After no response I interpreted that she had not responded to my request and I did then complain about this. But apparently Tim had been trying to reach me (I don't know on what phone). So he did return. (now we really liked Tim after the first visit- and actually still do) He replaced the parts of the faucet and it took care of the leak. But meanwhile the faucet sprayed all over and he was unable to fix that. And perhaps unbeknownst to him at the time, the faucet handle is now quite lose and rocks in all directions. So I called to get him to come back to take care of this. Well the message from him was that he was done with the job. He had fixed my leak and if there were problems with the faucet that was not his problem. (although these problems were not there before he did his work - although the faucet occasionally sprayed in off directions, I could fix that with scraping the calcifications from the filter) It was eons worse when he was done and he did not have a filter screen to replace.the damaged one. I called Syd's back stating that the job was not complete until these things were fixed. So the receptionist set up for Syd to come out Monday morning. Well I just got off the phone with Syd and was absolutely blown away. He was not about to come to my house because he had an injury and couldn't move (I am not sure why the receptionist did not know this). And anyway "you have been nothing but trouble from the start?????" He stated that he would refund the money (which is more than the faucet would have cost new) and hung up on me!!! This has been my most amazing experience with a service provider. And what started out good ended bizarrely crazy. (sorry about this length but was attemping to give both sides) (another afterthought - my sister was present for both visits and had similar responses to mine)

Syd's Plumbing & Repairs did a good job. They did an excellent work. I would give them the top rating. They have very pleasant people. They had a good crew. They knew what they were doing. The price was good but it was a little higher. I paid for the quality of the work.

First, we were amazed that Syd was able to get someone to the house the next morning! Second they were on time and really considered everything that could be causing the water pressure. Ultimately, it was determined that the city must have been doing work on the system because the water pressure was returning to normal and they found no issue. During the investigation house, they noticed that the water spigot outside was cracked (the one they replaced the year before). They replaced it for us free of charge since it was the one they had installed. Everyone at this company is so friendly, responsive, and punctual. We will continue to use them again.

Of course, this all began Easter weekend. Our drain pipe overflowed into our basement. We called Larry of Sparkle Drain and due to the size and shape of the pipe he was unable to clear the drain from inside our 80+ year old home. Easter Sunday morning, Larry called Syd....Syd called us while we were at church and told us he would be at our home Monday morning at 7am. We were able to use the drain sparingly throughout the day on Easter. Syd arrived promptly with his crew and went straight to the task. The work was done quickly and effectively. Larry of Sparkle Drain arrived while Syd was since at our home and cleared the pipe completely. Thanks to Larry and Syd for a great job~

Another plumbing company certified that the main shutoff valve worked prior to closing on our house. It did not. When an entirely different contractor tried to shut off the water for a mostly non-plumbing related job, the main shutoff started gushing water into my utility closet. Syd's was the only plumber we called who was able to come out - they even got there before the plumbers who actually certified the shutoff valve as working. Thanks for being there, Syd's.

The job went well, once they excavated around the pipe it was apparent there was damage to the pipe leading into the basement as well and another $800 was added to the bill but they did an excellent job in laying new pipe and trying to avoid some of our trees. Syd was the only one of our three quotes to suggest laying a new pipe line instead of digging up the old one which was very close to the side of our house. We agreed on the price on a Thursday and he and his crew were out there the following Tuesday morning. We are very happy with the work and the cleanup. It was a big job and although we would have liked to save more of our garden it would have been very difficult for the company.

Can't tell you - they never called me back. Gave them a "D" overall since the woman on the phone was pleasant.

They did a lot of work and did it very carefully. Sid was extremely cordial and went with great pains to set out a number of different scenarios and range of prices for different solutions so all four households could make a very informed decision. His whole crew were all really great guys. Every question was answered and Sid spent a lot of time with us before hand. He ran a camera down the line so we could see everything before hand. The job ran the course of a couple days. They did the job quickly and restored our land when they were done.
