In October 2011, I asked Edwin to give me a quote to repair my basement from water damage. At the time, I did not complete the work. In January 2013, I reached out to him again. He quickly responded and after a quick review of the home, honored the original price he gave me. From there, the work went great. I checked the basement each evening. The work progressed smoothly and they tidied the area up at the end of each day. The project did take an extra day, but Edwin appraised me of the delay and coordinated with me. I additionally made some last minute changes and they handled it in stride. The project turned out absolutely beautifully.

We're very happy with the end result. It was a larger project than we had anticipated,, and despite an early disagreement about the scope of work (removal of old wallpaper), Edwin resolved the problem to everyone's satisfaction. His work is beautiful. We should probably buy better furniture to match our new paint job!

We were given a reasonable price for the work and it was extremely well done. The person doing the work was courteous and cleaned up after the job. We were very pleased with the work and will use the company again in the future if needed.

I found that they did an excellent job on the wall repair and repaint. However, when I emailed them with a request to repaint the interior of the house, I did not get a call back

They showed up on time every time, completed the job when they said they would, did the work they promised and were a pleasure to work with throughout the project. The work was top-notch and I will work with them again in the future.

The interior of the house was not painted for many years- there was a lot of prep work and wallpaper to remove. Loayes Painting did a great job and Edwin Loayes was around to manage the project for the customer from start to finish. I received good advice and they were flexible and efficient. The painters were very good and the installation of the backsplash was excellent. The job lasted two weeks and we are very happy with the result. I would hire Loayes Painting again anytime.

.Painted all interior and repaired walls in bedroom. Replaced closet doors. Closed-off a stairwell to convert into an underneath stairwell closet. Installed Kitchen backslash appx 20 sq ft.

I sent a request for a quote on a small remodeling job via Angie's List. Edwin called me back within 48 hrs and offered to come out and look at my house that evening. He arrived on time and spent about 20 minutes with me looking at the space and offering some good suggestions. Two days later, he emailed me a bid for the job. Based on the good reviews on Angie's list and a very fair price, I accepted the offer. He was able to begin the following Monday. His guys showed up on time and got to work immediately. The job took a total of three working days. Each evening the crew did a thorough clean-up and left the house in good order. All along Edwin did a great job of communicating by email about the schedule and any concerns he had regarding the job. By Thursday night, the job was done. The craftsmanship was excellent. They matched the color and trim to the existing elements in the room and hung the doors perfectly. I would not hesitate to use Loayes Painting again.

Disorganized and/or not reliable. Based on all the rave reviews in Angie's List, I thought I'd give Loayes a call for an estimate to paint several rooms. Earlier in the week I reached a Mr. Loayes and we arranged to meet that Thursday. Thursday came and went and I waited and waited and Mr. Loayes failed to show up or give me a call . I was very disappointed. I also had called another well-regarded Angie's List [painter and he showed up as scheduled.

Their drywall work was superb - one problem they fixed was a bulging seam on the stairway wall between the top and main floors of the house. It had been there from when the house was first built. Loayes workers feathered the problem area out and now it is not visible. The entrance foyer ceiling had been built with an unnecessary void above it. Loayes workers removed the existing drywall and framed in the space. Then they re-drywalled the new, higher ceiling. Their cleanup after the drywall removal was very complete. They swept and vacuumed. In the kitchen ceiling, we had 2 small (we thought) spots of water damage. Turned out that a 1'x1' area around each had moldy, damaged drywall. Loayes did the extra drywall work without adjusting the price upward significantly. Their painting prep work was thorough - they primed the woodwork which was going from a darker color to a lighter color. They listened carefully to my instructions for filling holes from pictures. The painting was excellent. We had chosen a very deep color in one room, with white woodwork (crown moulding and windows). This combination can be difficult to do well, as the line between the colors is of such high contrast. Loayes' painters are quite skilled, and the result looks perfect.

Thisi s the third time we've engaged Loayes Painting, and once again they exceed our expectations. This time we have them paint our living room, and also patch numerous holes in our drywall left behind by an electrical contractor. The holes were perfectly patched to the point that you'd never know they were there in the first place. The also reworked an area where our return AC vent was not flush with the drywall (never has been for 40 years) and now it looks great! The room was painted with two coats of paint (walls and ceiling), and they used the brand and colors we specified. They also painted the trim around the windows, baseboards, and the entire fireplace mantel. All of the work was done expertly, and they did an amazing job of cleaning up afterwards. I highly recommend Loayes Painting.

This is our second time using this company. We were so impressed with them the first time when they did some interior painting for our new condo - when we needed some grout and caulking done around our tub I did not hesitate to call Mr. Loayes. He is professional, very responsive and best of all the job was beautifully done. In addition when my husband and I said that the estimate was above what we had budgeted for Mr. Loayes worked with us on price. We needed the job done in a short time frame and he even accommodated this by coming on a Saturday having given us the estimate the day before. I highly recommend this company for any of your painting and handyman needs!

I thought that the pricing was excessive, and the job took longer than expected. Additionally, we never had the same crew doing the work, and the crews didn't speak English. This was an issue considering the supervisor was never on site as well.

The overall jobs went well. Edwin is honest, bids fairly, and does not pull out any surprises. The crews are well managed, polite, clean and courteous. They clean up every day after work.

Loayes Painting LLC I had heard a lot about Angie?s List on TV, the internet and from close friends, but I was not sure Angie would be the one to help me choose the best contractor for my repairs. After my experience with Loayes Painting LLC, I knew I had made the right choice. I had never hired a contractor before in my life for anything. However, my cousin, who has a lot of experience since she built her own home, reviewed with me the important things I should ask a contractor before signing an agreement. She said the contract should have a detailed description of what would be done in each room; materials used for the repair; the number coats of primer and paint for the walls and ceiling; starting date; and required deposit, etc. My home was built in 1912 and anything this old needed a good face-lift. There was extensive roof, termite infestation and structural damage in the dining room, including the windowsill and moldings. All of second story bedroom ceilings needed repair, including the main hall; and there were 9x9 ceiling tiles from the 60?s in each room. After interviews with three contractors, Loayes Painting LLC of McLean was the most impressive. Within hours of our meeting, Mr. Loayes sent me a detailed list of everything that his company would do, including all items on the list above. In my desire to save money, I just wanted Mr. Loayes to attach the dry wall to the existing ceiling tiles. However, he politely disagreed and explained to me that the weight of the drywall would bring down the old plaster and that would be a catastrophe. He suggested the complete removal of the ceiling tiles and plaster. I was in shock, but I felt he was the professional. When the work began, his crew arrived every morning by 8:30AM and worked on some days until 5:30PM, or until I put them out so I could attend a meeting. After two weeks of falling debris, the smell of primer and paint, plaster and dust, the work was finally completed. With all of this, I knew I had made the right decision in choosing Mr. Loayes. I was deeply moved by the quality of his work and the beauty that had long been absent in my home. My parents bought this house in 1952 and I know that they would have been impressed with its repair and restoration.

They were very prompt about coming out and giving us an estimate. They scheduled the work immediately and it was done within 2 days. Although the price was higher than I would have expected for the size of the holes you can't tell where the holes were so no complaints about the work. The work was done quickly and professionally.

The crew did a fantastic job, both painting and filling in holes in the walls from nails, towel hangers, etc. We are very pleased with the job. Also, they were able to do the work within two weeks of giving us the original quote.

Edwin and his crew were great! They accomplished the routine work of painting with ease and professionalism. Moreover, they did a great job of removing wallpaper and repairing the walls underneath. Most impressive, however, was the work and cooperation in resolving a peeling paint problem that we had for years. They resolved the problem. We are most happy that we chose Loayes painting.

Edwin Loayes and his crew did exactly as promised. The job took four long days plus a bit of finish. The quality is first-rate. Two coats everywhere, excellent finish and trim. We are especially happy with the walk-in closets, which were done with the same high level of quality as the other rooms. Clean-up afterwards was very thorough. We are quite happy with Loayes Painting, and I will be happy to use them again when the need arises.
