George did a great job on our home inspection. He was a pleasure to work with and was very flexible when at first it seemed our inspection would need to be rescheduled. He was very punctual for our 8am appointment being the first to arrive. During the inspection he was very professional and helpful. He explained everything that he was doing and educated us on the house, how the systems worked, etc. It was a rainy day and he got on the roof anyway (in my experience home inspectors never get on the roof), this was very helpful and he found some maintenance issues (with photos) that we can now bring to a roofer (saving us the expense of having a separate roof inspection). He got in the attic and did a thorough inspection finding and documenting (with pictures) the issues. The entire inspection took ~3.5 hours and was detailed. We had our report by that evening. I would absolutely recommend Hometrust Inspections. Thanks!

I called george on a Monday afternoon and he was able to schedule me in for a Friday morning home inspection at townhouse in Alexandria, VA that we had under contract. George spent about 3 hours with us walking us through every aspect of the house starting with the heating and A/C unit. When he opened the A/C unit he found water collecting on the the bottom of the unit and explained to us how it happened and took pictures to include them in his report. He then walked us through the electrical panel, plumbing, bathrooms, kitchen and each bedroom of the house to look for any issues the house might have. He took great pictures which were all included in the finished report that he provided us within 2 days. George was very professional and patient with all the questions that we had for him. He really took his time to make sure that we understood what he was doing and how things work or should work. I would definitely recommend him to anyone who might be buying their first house.

He is thorough but not an alarmist, finds things that other inspectors have missed, and even fixes things as he goes if it would take less time to fix it than write it up in the report. He also is one of the few inspectors that will remove wall panels if possible to see inside the walls (once he found an unfinished 10 x 12 room that no one knew was there!), or move boxes and furniture to see what might be hiding behind them. Other inspectors have simply written “No access to inspect” – not George.

George is fantastic. He was very knowledgeable and very thorough, and even provided very accurate estimates for repairs and remodeling we're planning to do. He even climbed on the roof, which was no easy task. His ladder was fairly short, and he had to climb on the roof off of the balcony, which looked to be dangerous, but he did it anyways. We were very impressed. Overall, our experience was great and we have no problems recommending George for a home inspection. Thank you George!

George did a very thorough job inspecting the home we were buying. Additionally, he did an excellent job of explaining what he was looking for and providing suggestions on what to watch out for and small adjustments (e.g. no-burst hoses, epoxy at the bottom of the rail to prevent rust, etc) to avoid future problems. The only problem was with the radon inspection. After completing the home inspection, the radon tech still had not arrived. I waited at the house for about 15 minutes before texting George and asking him to call the tech and ask for an ETA. A little while later George called to apologize that there had been a scheduling miscommunication, which he said had never happened before. Not a big deal, but I was in from out of state and had a long drive back. I eventually received my radon test results from my realtor a few days later. I had hoped the radon tech would have made more of an effort to get me the report directly. Overall, great home inspection but poor experience with the radon inspection which was probably an isolated incident.

Simply put, the technician sent by Hometrust was fantastic. After reading reviews on Angie's List, I called Hometrust to schedule a home inspection on a house that was just put under contract. I called after work, so after 6 pm, but they answered the phone and were available to schedule my home inspection despite the time. The seller had set a 7 day time limit on getting the inspection (including a radon inspection, which would itself take two days), and I was concerned that the short time span may have caused a problem. I needn't have worried, though - we were able to schedule the home inspection for only a couple of days after my phone call. The inspection started on time, and the technician appeared at the property early with all of the tools that he'd need for the inspection (including a nice folding ladder which was immediately put to use in going onto the roof). The best way to describe the inspection itself was that it was like getting a users manual for the house! The technician went over every single part of the house room by room and covered the entire exterior (roof to ground). He was extremely personable and discussed every aspect of the house. He consistently told us everything - good, bad, or needing work - that he saw, and also told us how urgent he thought each repair was. After the home inspection, I felt like I had seen each part of the house and knew any issues that could arise there. As I said - fantastic! I highly recommend Hometrust!

George did an phenomenal job on two different home inspections for me. His examination of the structure, mechanics, and systems of each house was exhaustive. Moreover, he explained to me in plain language what he was finding, what needs to be immediately repaired, and what I should be mindful of in future weeks and years. I've had several home inspections. George is the most thorough inspector I've worked with. I highly recommend.

I called George based on the great reviews on Angie's list since I was desperate for a lead test. I'm in the process of buying a home that was built in 1947 and it has original doors & windows. I'm a mother of a two year old & I'm concerned that there is a strong likelihood of lead with this house. After speaking with George for over over 20 minutes. He explained everything about how lead testing is done & the different types of methods in detecting it. He also talked about what to do if it's found and possible costs related with each method. He was extremely knowledgeable & patient with me. After explaining all of this information to me I then advised that I only needed him for the lead test and that I had already hired another inspector. He then advised that he would provide me with the lead test swabs that he already purchased for free. He even offered to leave them in his mailbox if I agreed to come get them. I was away visiting family in Massachusetts and asked my husband to go pick them up after work. My husband went by that evening and didn't find any swabs in his box. He then called me asking what he should do since it was 10:00 pm and I told him to just go home. I planned on calling George in the a.m. once I was up. To my surprise there was a voicemail waiting for me once I had woken up. It was George apologizing. He advised that he had asked his wife to leave them in the box and she had forgotten to do so. He then informed that he would leave them in the box for my husband to come back & get. I called my husband & told him to go get the swabs right away. He drove all the way out to Vienna & there were the swabs. George had no reason not once but twice to help me but he did! He saved me over $450 in lead testing. He also armed me with all the information I needed in order to conduct the test, understand the different methods of testing, and he advised me of the possible outcomes to expect from the seller when it comes to the removal of lead if it was found. I'm extremely floored by his generosity & definitely believe him to be an upstanding contractor who knows his stuff. I'm looking forward to working with George in the future should the opportunity present itself. To anyone wondering whether they should hire him/not. My recommendation would be yes. Thank you again George for your time & generosity.

George goes above and beyond. I wanted to schedule for Saturday and although George said he had some personal matters to take care of, he came and showed up early. The TH had extrememly high ceilings. The ladder would not reach the opening. George had to perform some fancy gymnastics to get up there. Most other inspectors would just have written it off as inaccessible. He was very thorough in explaining everything and encouraged questions. He is very knowledgeable and there were no questions he wasn't able to answer. For the items that needed replacement, he was able to give estimates on the replacement costs. His reports are thorough and include pictures. Because my inspection contingency was expiring soon, he was even able to get me an electronic report very quickly. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for an inspection.

George did an excellentg job explaining the different features of the house we are buying and the issues--minor as most were, on the house. He spent about 3 hours doing the inspection. I thought he did a very thorough job.

George inspected the entire house with me next to him asking questions as we went. The house is almost 2400 sq ft, and he spent at least three hours walking through it. He went every place within the house possible and also climbed on the roof. I have some renovation plans for the house, and he was also able to give me ball park estimates for my plans. Earlier that day I had had a mold inspection of the house, and I discussed the results with George partially to see if agreed with the recommendations by the mold inspector, in terms of remediation. He made notes in a book that was given to me at the end of the inspection as to the condition of the house and things that should be fixed immediately or in the future. At the end, he also provided a summary of major and minor issues. Since I plan to renovate, when we discussed the findings, he was also able to tell me what things should be fixed now and what things could wait until renovation which will not be for several months. Finally, he gave me his cell phone number, and he said to call him anytime in the future from 7 am to 10 pm if I had any questions about the inspection or anything else. I really appreciate that he is willing to answer questions well after the inspection is over.

We hired George to inspect our home because we wanted to assess its current condition and be able to have a long-term game plan for any future repairs that might be needed. George spent 3 hours in my small townhouse going over everything and explaining things to me. He produced a report at the end detailing his findings. He also owns a construction company and was able to give me some ball park estimates for some remodeling I want done. However, I never felt the slightest bit of pressure from him to use him to do that work. He just mentioned it and gave me his card. He was very friendly, professional, and did exactly what we needed. And we got to use an Angie's List coupon!

Hands down, we got our money?s worth and the bottom line?George did an excellent job! I have called him on two occasions since the inspection and he promptly returned my calls and answered my questions. Upon request, George had also supplied me with the names and numbers of several highly recommended contractors he had worked with in past. I have since contacted and used several of them, and like George, they too provided excellent, professional service, and fair and reasonable price.

Excellent. The service was exactly what I needed and done in a professional and friendly manner. You might get an inspection report done cheaper, but it wouldn't match this quality. This is one part of the home purchase process I feel very confident about.

George showed up promptly for our early morning home inspection appointment. He did an incredibly thorough job and constantly asked if I had any questions. He answered every question I had and never made me feel like I was asking too many! His service was outstanding and I would surely use him again or recommend his services to friends. The best part is he took the time to educate me on anything he found that needed attention and suggested simple remedies I could employ. He also noted any positive aspects of the house. The other great thing is he really educated me on how many of the things in a house work. My 4 year old son (and dog) followed us around and George had no problem with that and even helped educate my son on things he was inspecting. The dog listened but didn't seem to understand it very well! Overall a terrific experience. I recommend you hire George for your home inspection.

I called Hometrust with a question about some potential mold and CO contamination in our new rental home. I got someone on the phone immediately on my first call -- George -- and explained my concerns. He was suberbly friendly and knowledgeable, and made some great recommendations of simple (and low-cost) tests I could do myself before spending a lot of money with him or any other remediation specialists. He was honest and kind enough to give me these simple do-it-yourself steps first, when he could have just taken my money. I greatly appreciate that kind of service, and I will contact him if it turns out that I really need an expert to help with this issue.

I spoke with George about a possible home inspection involving solar panels. Although George was not able to help me, he was able to recommend someone else that had the specific qualification. I appreciated his professionalism and responsiveness even when he knew that he would not be able to help me out. That is the definition of class and integrity.

I scheduled a home inspection with George to inspect a townhouse that we currently own. Unfortunately, the owner of the adjoining unit locked the shared basement where all utilities are located without giving us a key. I did not discover this until George had made the trek all the way from Virginia to DC. Instead of getting angry for the wasted trip, George advised me of how to deal with the neighbors and get the lock removed so that we could access our basement. I rescheduled with him for the following Monday in hopes that we could have the lock situation resolved. However, by Monday 30 minutes before the scheduled inspection time, the neighbor, who had agreed to remove the lock, had not yet done so. George who was enroute at the time, was again gracious and patient with me when I called to cancel. I felt horrible about having to cancel twice in a row! He simply said to call him when we resolved the situation and gave me more helpful tips for dealing with the neighbors. This gentleman is a class A businessman and knows a lot about dealing with people, in addition to inspecting homes. As soon as we resolve the lock problem with our unpleasant neighbors, we will be scheduling an inspection with George.

George was readily available by phone to discuss and schedule our home inspection. Based on his qualifications as an electrical engineer and contractor and his competitive pricing, we decided to use him for our home inspection. George arrived on time and was ready to begin work. He is very knowledgeable and happy to answer any questions you may have. He was thorough, efficient and easy to work with. He has great attention to detail and was able to find even the smallest of problems. We now have an excellent picture of the condition of our new home. I would use his services again and recommend him to anyone looking for a home inspector.

This was the second time that I used George for a home inspection. Both times, George was prompt, professional, and thorough. For the second inspection, George needed to reschedule due to a problem he was having at another site, so he called me several hours in advance to reschedule and was very flexible with rescheduling. For the inspection, he went through the entire condominium with a fine tooth comb. Moreover, he takes the time to explain everything to the home buyer as he goes through the house. He points out things that are major issues at the moment as well as things that could be potential problems. In my inspection, he identified shut off valves used on a gas line that was likely for a water line. After the inspection, he is also willing to take questions/phone calls about problems. It is clear that he really cares about doing the job well and ensuring that his customer is satisfied. I would highly recommend him.

Inspector saved me thousands of dollars from overzealous contractor. Provided thorough inspection of basement walls, made suggestions for repairs and confirmed no mold or humidity in my walls. Service was very friendly and provided me with peace of mind.

Home inspection for Condo. I selected this company because of the excellent ratings in Angies List. Spoke to George and he gave me an appointment within a few days and the appointment was for a time that worked well for me. The home I was looking to purchase was a condo and some other home inspectors quoted me a lower amount considering there is no exterior work and no climbing on roof etc. However, George said he had a minimum charge and considering the reviews I agreed. he showed up just a few minutes late (mixed up the street with another one with almost the same name) but once he got there it was a very thorough job. he caught a couple of things which I think another inspector might have missed, one of which was a problem with the heating unit. He pointed out several things to me about the water heater, fireplace, bathroom etc which was very useful for me for future reference regarding maintenance schedule etc. He went through the written report in detail and all in all, I was extremely satisfied. I understand his reasoning for the price but still considering 20-25% premium I have to rate less than excellent

George was absolutely professional and extremely knowledgeable. The home inspection was in-depth, including all major systems as well as little details like doorknobs. He went the extra mile to verify everything, such as ensuring the bathroom fixtures were watertight and covered every visible part of the house, interior and exterior. He was willing and able to explain each component of the house to me and my wife, and then to our six year old son who followed him around asking questions. The final write-up documentation was given to us immediately following the inspection, and was complete and thorough. We were all impressed by his competence, and have confidence in his inspection of the home. We would absolutely use his services in the future, and would recommend him without reservation.
