Overall an outstanding job. I met Mike (the owner) to outline my project needs. He provided me with a bid before he left my house. The bid was lower than competitors because Mike was honest in that I did not need to fully demolish my existing step foundations. The next day his crew showed up to do the job. The foreman listened to my concerns and instructed the crew accordingly. The two-man crew finished the steps perfectly and were pleasant to talk to. I would hire them again in a heartbeat.

It went very well indeed. Two masons worked dawn to dusk for 3 days on the two areas in need of repair. Matched up everything perfectly, including the color of the mortar. Cleaned up the site afterwards. Definitely a job well done!

The Capital Masonry Team did a fantastic job on our patio. Mike and his team of professionals provided a very reasonable and competitive estimate with the best solution for fixing our existing patio issues. Compared with the other estimates and proposed solutions, Capital Masonry offered the most complete, comprehensive, and effective solution and was able to schedule the work quickly. The team arrived on time and was professional throughout the entire job. The team lifted up the entire patio, and laid the bricks back down using mortar to ensure a permanent fix. As they laid down each brick the team ensured the appropriate grading using numerous levels and other assorted tools. In addition, the team took down our wooden rear steps to the house and replaced with a nice set of rear steps using flagstone (which looks great and gives more room). This team was excellent. While it is never easy to fix some patio issues, especially when it comes to grading and shedding water in the way the house was engineered, this team was able to make it happen. They also came up with some innovative solutions to ensure the maximium amount of water was carried away from the house by extending a french drain from the side of the house out to the front of the house. Upon request, the team was also able to take out an old drain cover to my basement egress drain (which was cemented in) and replace with a raised drain cover that does not easily clog during storms. I highly recommend Capital Masonry as they are a great team of professionals, who are skilled and knowledgeable in their craft.

Mike and team did an outstanding job building our patio and front walkway. In addition, Mike stands by his work and when we needed one minor repair, we did not have to ask twice and his team was here in no time. Mike's work is consistently noted by friends and neighbors as high quality and a real value add to our home.

They did an outstanding job. It was pricey, but only slightly more than a couple of other quotes I received. They juggled work to get our job done and were prompt and professional. I immediately recommended them to my homeowners association for work that needs to be don in the HOA area. I would definitely use them again if needed.

Completed in one day. They didn't take as much care with the front yard as Mike said they would, but this was a relatively minor negative.

The workmanship was poor (bad match for brick and mortar). In response to earlier negative reviews I wrote on Angie's list, the company falsely stated, "Capital Masonry has no record of this client." If Capital Masonry disagrees with my review, they have a right to state their opinion, but making false statements on Angie's List is unprofessional and deceitful. In response to their untruthful statement, I'm lowering my review from a D to an F. I recommend avoiding this company.

Service was good. I just expected a little more interaction. The project didn't turn out exactly as I wanted it to. But they did a good job. There should have been more communication. Cost was good.

Perfectly. Owner Mike came exactly on time to give us an estimate, and had suggestions to simplify the work and therefore reduce the construction time and mess. He printed out the estimate for us on the spot, and later revised it to accommodate our second thoughts. His was not the cheapest of the three estimates we got, but the result was well worth the extra money. His workers were prompt, efficient, tidy, and pleasant - and they took obvious great care with the leveling and laying of the bricks and stones. The walks are much prettier than we had thought they would be; several neighbors have admired the walks and asked for Capital's contact information.

Mike was very responsive and helpful on the phone. Due to our repairs being so minor we decided to go with a Handyman but will definitely keep Capital Masonry in mind when we are ready for quote to install a back patio.

Our new patio is beautiful! We wish we would have done this years ago. Mike and his crew were very punctual, professional and helpful. Mike gave me an estimate, the day he came to my house. We did not need to wait days or weeks. The day they were scheduled to do the work, Mike was there to verify again what they were going to do and when it should be completed. He required no payment, not even a deposit, until the work was completed and done to our satisfaction. His crew, lead by Rene, were there on time and were very skilled and hard workers. I can't say enough good things about this company and the people who work there.

Capital Masonry was not responsive. Perhaps they were too busy, but they could have said so, which is perfectly acceptable to me. I left a message on a Friday and received a return voice mail on the following Monday. I returned that call and did not hear from Capital Masonry again.

They were efficient , professional and left the site clean.

We can't stress enough how impressed we were with Mike Cadle & his crew! Mike came to our home and studied the graphed plans for the expansion of the patio and new walkways, measured and presented us with his quote to do the work which included a new concrete pad for the shed & flagstone patio & walkways. The project entailed demolishing & hauling away the old storage shed, existing fence, gates, shrubbery & cedar tree. The concrete slab of 11x13' would be joined with the new portion of the patio: sized 7 1/2'x11 1/2'. The old brick pathways were removed. Capitol Masonry laid flagstones over the old existing patio (16'x18'), laid the flagstone paths & new portion of the patio over freshly poured concrete. Mike told us that he & the crew would arrive at 8:30 a.m. on Oct. 3rd. He & the crew arrived on the dot. The project took 4 full days...Rene & his 2 crew members putting in long hours...arriving every morning by 7:45 and leaving after 4 p.m.---in 2 cases, almost 6 p.m.! Rene is a master craftsman with a great sense of design....we chose variegated flagstone in irregular shapes. The workmanship is superb! Upon completion, another member of Capitol Masonry's crew arrived on Friday morning to power wash all of the new installation, washing away all the grit and powdered flagstone from the patio and surrounding bushes (the heavy rains that came 2 days later finished this process). A project like this creates a huge mess, but the crew did a great job cleaning up. We solicited 3 bids for this project....all were from Angie's List. Capitol Masonry's bid fell in the middle of the 3 quotes. We could not be happier with our choice and the result!

We originally contacted Capital Masonry based on the reviews here on Angie's List. They obviously have an excellent reputation. Our feeling is that their reputation is very well-deserved, and that Mike and his team are in a rare category of service providers. Capital Masonry was very responsive, attentive to detail, performed high quality work, and was very easy to work with. We will use Capital Masonry for all future needs. Despite what I imagine to be high demand, Mike got back to my initial inquiry almost immediately and worked with our busy schedules to find a mutually agreeable time to check everything out. He immediately diagnosed the issues with our walkway, recommended improvements, and provided an estimate via email within the hour. Mike and his team returned a few weeks later to do the work, and the results are fantastic. After pulling up the existing brick and stone laid over half of the concrete walkway, the team broke apart some of the existing concrete, poured and reformed a new concrete base and then laid brick and stone on top to match the existing pattern. In addition, they repaired a multitude of damaged mortar on the exterior of our home, including several locations I had not noticed. After completing the job, the team cleaned everything up really well - there was no trace of their activity from the two day period. The steps up to the walkway are now much more comfortable, the entire walkway is level, and everything is spaced precisely. Further, it is impossible to tell that half of old walkway wasn't touched - the new work blended in perfectly. For the amount of high quality work, we feel that Capital Masonry provided great value and we plan to use their services on all future projects.

Great! The owner, Mike Cadle, was very prompt in responding to my query, providing a quote and then scheduling the work. The workers were clearly experienced and very efficient, and they built a very nice-looking walkway. After the work was done they carefully cleaned up the work site.

We are very happy with the work done by Capital Masonry. Mike Cadle, the owner returned my initial call promptly and made arrangements to meet me the same day. After reviewing and discussing the tasks, he provided an appropriately detailed contract; and the work was scheduled to start in 2 weeks. Mike and 3 stone masons showed up at the appointed date and time and got right to work. Mike said I was in good hands working with Renee, who led the team, and he wasn't exaggerating. They worked 3 long days to accomplish the work. They know their trade; and are committed to doing the job right to meet the customer's expectations. My experience with Capital Madonry was outstanding in all respects.

The total process was flawless. Not only did I get a prompt estimate in less than two days but I was impressed that the owner of the company Mike Cadle did the estimate and personal evaluation of the work site. The completed job was far above my expectations, it is a pleasure to feel proud of my homes entrance. The workers were very polite and finished all repairs in a single day as promised. I would highly recommend capital masonary for all your masonary needs. I will definately use them for all my future masonary repair and installation projects.

Mike Cadle, owner, is an A-One professional. He knows his masonry and has a skilled staff. He is very careful to assess the requested work and to covey specs to his staff. Their work is professional and the results meet and exceed expectations. Totally reliable. I would recommend Capital Masonry for any masonry job.

The team showed up on time, worked diligently through the day, and completed the job faster than anticipated. Original estimate was 2 full days and they completed all the work in a day and half. Team lead was very courteous and friendly. They cleaned up at the end of the day and the wall looks great. I was very impressed with the professionalism, speed and quality of the work. The price was a bit more than what I wanted to pay, however, based on the quality of the work it was definitely worth the investment. Would definitely use this company again in the future.

Couldn't have gone any better. In fact, the best Angie's List experience by far I've had, and the only contractor in recent time that I'm truly happy with. I emailed Mike (owner) asking him some masonry questions and he said it was best to come out and look at the place which he did. Most contractors I've found on here are too busy or just non responsive even after paying in advance. Mike was and is a true professional, which sadly, is something I rarely see anymore in the DC area among contractors. Mike called back immediately, set up a home visit and was right on time, very informative and gave a no pressure estimate, his estimate was in writing which I accepted and his crew came out and worked hard all day long (100 degree heat) without a complaint. The work is quality and I have absolutely no complaints. I only wish I could find other professional contractors of his caliber. Capital Masonry is the best of the best, and I will be using him again soon for a driveway as well as referring my friends and clients to him.

We were thrilled using the services of Mike Cadle and his crew at Capital Masonry LLC. We quickly got a personal visit and inspection, as well as the proposal and pricing the same day. When we compared all the considerations, we felt they were the best solution. What impressed us too was the promises made and kept by Mike Cadle to start and finish the work on schedule, on price, and with great results. His workers are amazing, too, and work long hours with skill and experience. This kind of work is messy and demanding, yet we know the crew was mindful of keeping the debris manageable and disposing of it properly and completely too. We cannot recommend Capital Masonry LLC enough, and are very happy with the beautiful results. In fact, before this project was done, we also engaged Mike and his crew to remove and replace our driveway with an updated surface.

Mr. Cadle provided sound guidance about the repair process and a reasonable (lowest of two) estimate. His work crew arrived as scheduled; worked efficiently and professionally; and produced outstanding results. After the follow-up power-wash, the porch and patio now look like new.

Met with Mike before and after job. The cost was in the comfortably in the middle of the three estimates that I received. The three workers at the house worked constantly. The completed work appears to be flawless. Will hire again if needed.
