PURDY INSULATION SPECIALIST

Description of Work: The work done was on my parent's house and their rental property. They were very dissatisfied. Purdy's began removing the aluminum siding and the gutters from the house and left the wall boards of the house exposed. When my parents contacted him about when the work would get done, he said he had to wait until the new siding came in. After several calls, he did have some crew members to come and put the insulation foam up on the walls. Finally after about 6 weeks, the siding came in and he began the work. He left holes exposed, didn't replace the awning above the back door, and didn't return my parent's calls. He had one of his crew members to begin removing the siding off of their rental house (before the work was complete on my parents home--the houses are side by side), but my parents wouldn't allow them to remove the siding for the 2nd home w/o finishing the first house. The work was never completed on the rental home. Purdy's did put the new roof on, but Another company had to be hired to put the siding on. |After another wind storm about 10 months later, my parents called Purdy first because some of the new siding was damaged in the storm. He told them 'I'll be right over in the morning'... That's been over a year now, and he hasn't gotten there yet. |I would not recommend this company, just because of the work and unprofessionalism of his company. If someone does retain him to do work for them, I strongly suggest that they request to see his Contractor's License.

Description of Work: Mr Purdy has no State or local license.Mr Purdy is operating illeglly.DPOR has Mr Purdy listed at Revoked which prohibits his business from doing work under VA state law.

Description of Work: Purdy's Insulation Company bid on and contracted to build a home that they were not licensed to bid on or build. The license that was used was a class C which only allows for remodeling to a home. The owner/operator of Purdy's Insulation falsely bid on and convinced an elderly widow to use his business to rebuild her home after it was destroyed by fire. He blatantly took on this job, wrote a open ended contract designed to get all the money from the insurance company and any that he could convince the homeowner to give him, while communicating with her in a "good ole boy", down home, charismatic, manner. This entire job, building a home from the ground up, was taken on by this company knowing that they were not legally licensed to do so. The entire issue has been reported and investigated by state officials. Rest assured this company and it's owner have done a terrible wrong and this issue has been kept quiet until the investigation was completed. It is my hope that no one else who is vulnerable due to such a loss makes the mistake of hiring this company to do anything for them. This entire experience with Purdy Insulation and the owner have been nothing but a nightmare.
