He did two small jobs, but he got the deposits for four. Then he could never come out to do anything after the two small jobs. That was supposed to be before the patio in the fall of 2008. He has two companies. He never did the two big jobs. The amount of money that was deposited on the two big jobs combined which I never got back was $3818.75. He didn?t take my calls. He didn?t sign the registered letter I sent him. So, I got another company into it and they made contacts with him. He claimed that he never had a customer by my name. Then I provided all this information to the other company. They went out and found that he apparently had gone out of business. He had a whole history of ducking and weaving when he didn?t want to talk to anyone. I think he did the same thing to the company I complained to and so, they quit on me. I paid him $1640 and I would have owed him another $4915 if he had done the job. I paid him $2178.75 for the stairs and platform and I would have owed him another $6536.25 had he completed it. He was telling me that he was having trouble. He came out one day when the patio people were out to give them some idea where the deck platform would cover, so they could do the shrubbery outside of that. He was supposed to get back. The last time I talked to him, he said that he lost his two workers and he couldn?t do the job. Finally I told him to give me back my money if he couldn?t do the job because I have to move on. I e-mailed him and left him a phone message, but I was never able to get a hold of him after that. He also never gave my money back. I wouldn?t trust him again and I would never use his services again.
Description of Work: Decked Out Construction did two small jobs for me. They replaced the bottom rails on my existing deck railing. I had a face board that was rotting and they replaced that face board. Jeff Place is the guy I dealt with. I gave him a down payment for the deck stairs with a platform and the covering underneath the deck so that the rain didn’t come through in September of 2008.
