Description of Work: The team from Summit Roofing Contractors installed a new roof for us on 4/3/2013. They did a terrific job! We are very pleased with this company. They gave a great price and provided top notch service.

Description of Work: Description Of Work: I have lived and worked in Manassas for 30 years and Summit Roofing has an excellent reputation for roofing. While looking for new replacement windows they came up in my search. I was delighted. Things were bumpy from the beginning, I dealt with a company representative with the same first and last name as the owner of the company, so I felt he would certainly know his stuff, yet it took nearly a month to get the estimate(he did apologize) However, I felt his knowledge of the product was fair at best and he did not have a sample window but suggested I visit the manufacturer who was local. It took about another month and a half for the installation to occur The installer was very professional and did a good job (I have since found minor chipped siding around one window). I had 5 windows installed and 4 seem fine both inside and out. I felt like I was dealing with middlemen (first a salesman/representative and second an independent contactor (not employee) who did the physical installation. When I asked the installer exactly how the windows worked and their features, I was given a quick demo on cleaning, locking, and positioning them. The only real information I have is in the brochure,(which does not have details on what the demo showed, but is my only real referance, plus an e-mail response on the breakage warranty(without which I would have nothing on breakage) Using them has been a learning process after a year I discovered I did not have them properly locked in the locking slot...so air has been seeping in all that time. Overall they seem flimsey with hardware that does not look very durable...plastic. Additionally when they sent their bill....I was offered $50 off the total to write upto 4 great reviews...including Angies. I did not take the credit and have waited a year to see how things went and how they performed. They are better than what I had...but I am doubtful about their durability and even more doubtful that Summit Roofing would assist me in getting any repairs. They may be great at roofs but not windows. I always felt like I was chasing them on moving the process along and waiting for answers to my questions. I am disgusted that they are rated so highly by Angies....when they openly pay for reviews. One of the review questions should be about compensation. It makes me wonder how good these recommendations are on Angies as well as other sites.

Description of Work: I contacted Summit Roofing in October in order to provide a complete evaluation of my existing roof. The existing roof at that time was cedar shake roof that had outlived its useful life. In addition to replacing the roof, Summit provided an evaluation as to the replacement of 6 skylights and the addition of roof ventalating fans. As part of the evaluation, Summit provided a satellite image of the roof to include all measurements of the roof lines. The owner of the company visited my home to evaluate all aspects of the roof replacement work from both inside and outside the home. Work was scheduled within a reasonable time period and begun promptly once the weather permitted the process of opening the old roof. The crew was excellent and completed the job in a timely manner. Cleanup around the house was thorough and well done. On numerous occasions we discussed completing the job as originally agreed upon and every effort was made by Summit to complete the work to my satisfaction. In fact when potential wiring issues became apparent with the new roof fans, Summit installed solar powered fans at no additional cost. In summary, I was very happy with the price, the quality of the work and the overall professionalism of Summit Roofing. I would highly recommend Summit Roofing.

Description of Work: We had to have our entire roof replaced. Joe from Summit roofing came out and explained in detail what needed to be done and gave us our estimate. No purssure was placed on us to get the job done. He answered all our questions, even after he left we had to call him because we forgot a few things. He answered our call and our additional questions. The employees from Summit roofing were polite and worked hard to get the job. Excellent job done and we were very pleased with everything. Description of Work: This company is AWESOME!!!!! We had a small leak after the storm and I called Summit. I got an estimate from another company that was actually cheaper, but the guy was so creepy I decided to try Summit. Luis came out on a Saturday and not only figured out what was wrong, but took pictures up on the roof to show us. He gave us an estimate and we told him to proceed. Not only did they do the work, but they showed up first thing Monday morning. What a great company! Very professional, polite, and honest. If we ever need roof repairs again we will definitely give them a call! Thank you!
