Description of Work: Removed old attic insulation- applied spray foam to attic area - large attic space.

Description of Work: We needed insulation for an addition to the home. The salesperson was prompt with quick response with a quote. The work was scheduled quickly as we were dealing with county inspections. The only reason I did not give a higher grade was due to the failed insulation inspection. The company gave me the incorrect ESR report for spray foam and the work done did not meet the appropriate thickness for the County required R value. Southland did come out the next day to fix the problems and provided the correct report. We passed the 2nd inspection, but this did delay the rest of the renovation a few days.

Description of Work: Overall the project went well but there were some confusion about where we wanted the spray foam insulation installed. We had specified on the roof deck for the entire project but they began installing it on the floor joist which made a big mess. We did get is mostly cleared up though.

Description of Work: Installed 1,000 SF of R30 insulation under the house in a crawl space.

Description of Work: I called them to get a blow in quote. They have very few reviews on here however they carry a brand that I am interested so I went for them. I need some insulation blown in wall cavities- I think they call this drill and fill.

Description of Work: Southland installed foam insulation into finished walls and sealed the area between the joists that extended into the garage. Southland also assisted in locating and coordinating a sub contractor to cut the installation holes and then patch the holes to a ready to paint state.

Description of Work: Needed an estimate for insulating the 1957 section of the house and the attic. I started renovations immediately upon purchasing the house in July 2009. Drywall, insulation was removed. I had new electrical installed, which has not been completed, and new plumbing, which has not been completed. I received one estimate for insulation and sound-deading from one contractor but they did not give the complete estimate. I asked for an estimate of the crawl space but that was never done. So I looked for a new contractor to get a second estimate. I saw Southland's truck on the road and called. I spoke to Mr. Tom Ward. Very informative conversation. The trouble was scheduling for the estimate. On the 4th attempt, we met. On a day I was not at home, Tom and Juan came to the house to conduct a survey of ALL spaces needing insulation. That was early December. I do not need the energy audit credit, therefore, advised Tom to complete those that were in need of the credit and to contact me once he had completed the estimate. I called Tom. Juan and Tom are working the estimate. This is a large job and they are very busy.

Description of Work: I called them twice, left messages with a receptionist and never received a call back.

Description of Work: I had my attic insulation pulled up, foam put in the cracks and new insulation blown in. The issue I had was my upper floor temperature was so different from the first floor. They actually came the day the power was out and it was 90 degrees outside. As soon as they were done I could already tell a difference. I had read that there is no need to pull up old insulation. However, I had an energy audit and was told about the attic air that can leak in the cracks around your fixtures and the walls. I believe by having the cracks filled (needed insulation to be gone to see this better) and new insulation blown in up to code, that this made a big difference.

Description of Work: As requested, they conducted an energy loss survey of my attic. I was concerned about a loss of some insulation and air duct leakage after some recent home renovations. The salesperson, Kim Earhart provided me with several options in a low pressure, professional manner. She even provided the contact of another company regarding a potential service they did not provide regarding the ducts. She also arranged for a subsequent inspection of the attic by an installation foreman, Juan Cruz. Together, they identified the cause of a problematic hot/cold spot resulting from the questionable insulating work of a previous contractor on an earlier renovation. All of my questions and concerns were answered honestly and professionally.

Description of Work: Sealed all of my top plates, spray foamed all of the joists/gaps, and added about a foot of blown fiber glass insulation bringing my insulation value to R-24.
