Provider did not order enough carpet. This was a result of a carpet installation diagram where there were 3 seams instead of only one seam. The room that was received the new carpet was both in length and width wider than the 12ft ream that the carpet came in. The company ordered enough carpet to only support the 3 seam installation instead of just a one seam installation. Provider was very professional about the mishap and ordered another ream of carpet and installed the carpet as agreed upon.

We contacted Shawn E at Sotheby after we had flooding in our home. We needed most of our smaller homes flooring replaced. Shawn worked with us for a while determining what we wanted to have installed. We scheduled the installation after other repairs were completed with numerous stops and starts on the other repairs we were able to get the flooring installed. The workman came in over a three day period and did an awesome job. I have been to other friends homes and have seen the workmanship that they have gotten from other flooring companies only running the tile 6 inches or so under appliances, cutting corners in other area that arent readily visible etc. I did not get this at all from this company. I came home the first evening to see all the non attached appliances out of the area being worked on, the tile work laid to the wall and not just six inches under the appliances. They came back the second day to complete the wood flooring and tile work. The attention to detail made me so happy to see. Something I haven't seen in years. The carpeting folks showed up on time as the other workers had been. They took no time to complete their work also. They cleaned under where the carpet was going, not leaving anything to detract from the work they just put in. Everyone we worked with and talked to was always on time, very professional and you could tell they like and care about what they are doing. Call and talk to Shawn E when you call this company. If they are a tad higher on costs, which for me they were not, it will be well worth it for this level of workmanship and attention to detail.

Both jobs went very well, we had been told to expect the kitchen to take 2 days, but they were done in much less time. The carpet didn't take a full day, even though they had a lot of furniture to move around. On both installations, the installers arrived when expected and did an excellent job both with the installation and clean up when the job was done.

We have a small vacation cabin that is new construction. This is the first job tackled. They installed hardwood throughout the house. The crew that they sent was not the best and we had some problems with install. Upon talking to our salesman, the crew was immediately replaced. They no longer work with Sotheby's so that should not be a problem in the future. The new crew came in and finished up and it looks fabulous. The change in crew only took a couple of days so we were really not backed up at all. It might have been a problem if it had not been new construction. With that experience under our belts, we decided to give them a try in our regular home. We had them take out the carpeting in all of our bedrooms and one staircase and replace it all with hardwood floors. The crew that came was very professional and did a great job. They did not inconvenience us at all and completed the job in two days. If they had any questions about how we wanted something done they asked in advance instead of doing it whatever way they wanted. They cleaned up after themselves afterwards very well. Our salesman was in constant contact and came by the next day to inspect their work and make sure we were satisfied. We would use them again. Especially if we get the same crew to install. They made all of the difference.

I tend to want to get things done/organized sooner than later. We were planning to build our new home and so I wanted to pick out the backsplash early on. I went to Sotheby Floors, Inc. in Manassas. They have a very nice showroom and I met with the company's President, Jay Robinson. That is when I found out the company had participated in Extreme Home Makeover -- working on a home in Maryland! (Is that really relevant? Probably not, but it gave me a warm fuzzy towards the company.) I had a picture of what I liked and they were able to work with me to match it as best they could given the dimensions in my kitchen were smaller than those in the picture. The backsplash was one of the last things done in our home before we moved in. I absolutely love it! The installers were meticulous and kept everything very clean as they worked. A very good experience!

We priced hardwood floors and found they had a very competitive price. The sales person was right on time and the installation was on time also. The floor is beautiful and we love it. The installers did some sloppy work, but the sales person has asked us to make a list and is offering to correct any problems.
