UPDATE to Original Post: Company is under new management as of this summer and my recent experience when it was time to get my furniture out of storage and shipped to Colorado was less than positive. Sloan is a contractor with National Van Lines for long distance moving and the actual delivery of my furniture was a nightmare- see review on National Van Lines. However, at the time of the move to storage the driver explained the insurance options. It was not clear that the insurance also included the physical move into the new home in Colorado so the extensive damage to my furnishing was only covered at the insurance rate.- rather than the full repair costs for the damage. The driver for Sloan indicted the insurance was only for the time the furniture was in storage- be ware of this issue if you are in a similar situation. In addition to having to call the new owner, Bryan, several times to make the arrangements to move the furniture from storage to Colorado I also requested a quote for moving the furniture from my rental to Colorado. I had to call several times to remind the new owner, he continued to say he was getting ready to send the quote but was busy. I decided to get a second estimate and was fortunate to connect with United Van Lines (Hilldrup) and they were responsive and provided a much more competitive price for the move of the furnishings from my rental. The billing of the storage monthly fees are not clear. At the time my furniture was placed in storage (3/23) the office manager (who has since resigned) explained that fees are billed at the start of the month like rent or a mortgage. Since my furniture was moved from storage half way through the billing cycle I was expecting a partial refund. I contact the owner about this and he said he was not sure how billing was done and would get back to me. I did not hear from him and reached out again to be told that storage fees were billed in the rears. I told him the last office manger told me differently- he did not reply. When the fee was not billed at the end of the cycle I reached out again. He has yet to respond- 4+ weeks ago. Perhaps Sloans still does a good job for local moves, but my experience with the storage and long distance move was not positive. Original Post: Totally impressed!! Making a large move from a very large home and getting ready to relocate across country could not have been easier with Sloan's Moving and Storage. The move involved 3 separate moves. First loading a van to take antique furniture 1500 miles away. The second move to to pack and store 4 large containers for storage to await the shipping and the last step was to take the remaining furniture and belongings to a rental townhouse for temporary housing until the final move. Each time the crews were professional, careful and efficient. There were no issues with damage or lost items and Danny has been responsive. The costs were reasonable and competitive with other estimates. When I make the final move from Virginia Sloans will ship and move me into the final home and I will use them to pack the remaining belongings in the rental. This was one of the best service experiences I have had.

HIGHLY recommend this moving company. We've had a terrible experience in the past with moving so needless to say, we were nervous. But the reviews spoke highly of Sloane's so we decided to go with them and we're SO glad we did! The movers arrived promptly on time, were so careful with all of our items, delivered/placed all the items in their appropriate rooms/places, and were efficient through the whole process! They were so kind and professional. You get what you pay for. Their service was fantastic from start to finish. We will surely be using them for all future moves.

Antoine, Monte, Phil, and Clarence are fantastic movers at Sloan's Moving! They have done repeated moves for us and have been professional and courteous each time. This crew and Sloan's moving are top-notch!
