Our appointment was later in the afternoon and by the time the technician reached us he was an hour and half late. The technician, Jim, was professional despite his late arrival did not rush through the routine inspection/maintenance our units and explained everything that he was doing and what his findings were. Overall I am very pleased with Shaw Services and would recommend them to anyone.

Shaw Services came to inspect my HVAC system and gave me an additional estimate on replacing my system. First, the Shaw representative went into the attic to evaluate the unit and measure it while others just peeped into the attic and quoted me without going in there. The workers who came to replace the unit were very professional and knowledgeable. They took extra care to cover the steps, take off shoes, and explain the unit to me. When there was a factory problem with one part, they came back the next business day to fix it. Overall, I felt that Shaw was very professional and knowledgeable. While I had some estimates that were a little cheaper, I believe that Shaw was the best value for a long term purchase like this.

I was feeling more like I was trying to be sold a used car than I was a new HVAC--that is until Donald came! Wow--this guy was great! No hard sell, no pressure, very laid back and easy going, very professional, and I honestly, wanted to give him a hug before he left! My heat pump is old, but is working. I got a different opinion on why it needed to be replaced from other heating guys and WAY too much pressure to try and sell me a new unit. Donald said "if it's working, why would you replace it right now?". Wow, yeah, Donald, you're right...why does this have to be replaced right this second? So, thank you. Thank you for being honest. Thank you for allowing my head to stop spinning, and thank you for being such a nice guy WITHOUT the hard sell. I sooooooooooo appreciated it! I won't use anyone else! :)

Excellent! Don worked hard to ensure that our new ducts were run as unobtrusively as possible and to make sure that our new system fit our needs. Everyone from Shaw who worked at our house was professional, diligent, and very hardworking. They tried to keep our house as clean as possible. A non-urgent follow up question that we had was addressed immediately. I highly recommend this company!

Called at 7:45 AM and spoke to company owner and she stated that she would have someone out to my house within the hour. Technician showed, diagnosed problem promptly and replaced faulty part. I have dual zone heating/air and he also inspected my working furnace while he was here. Very pleasant/painless experience. Would definately utilize this company's services again.

The service men showed up on time and worked in a very professional manner. They were friendly courteous and did everything efficiently. This company is the only one of three that I contacted that would even take the job of installing an exterior vent for a range hood. They had to crawl up above our kitchen and walk on trusses to run the duct up and through the roof. They cleaned up after the jobs and made sure that we were satisified with the work. And they were the lowest bidder (out of two) to install the humidifier. I would definitely use this company again for any HVAC jobs.

I called Shaw Services to install a whole home humidifier. They were prompt in returning calls and quick to add me to their schedule within the next few days. I received a confirmation call and they were prompt, in fact early, to arrive. They had to install the humidifier, tap into the water line and install an additional electrical outlet. It was all done smoothly and efficiently with ample explanation. At the end the humidifier whistled somewhat. They added some silver tape to eliminate the sound. They finished earlier than predicted and the cost was exactly as they had quoted over the phone. Over the next day the whistling sound came back and even increased, so I called them to report it and ask for service. They returned within 2 days, evaluated the noise and determined that our vents might not be open enough and that the pressure created would cause the whistling sound. They adjusted some of the vents and immediately the sound totally disappeared. They also advised us on the initial humidification level for the house and told us when to turn it down to a normal setting. From start to finish, this was a Class A operation, and I highly recommend this company !

During a recent roof replacement, my roofing contractor asked me if I wanted to replace the decorative chimney facade with a standard heating vent cap. I agreed. When the facade was removed, the vent pipe was a triple-walled over-size pipe that required the roofing contractor to "modify" the largest adjustable cap available in order to cover the opening until they could find the correct size cap (10.25"). Given the age of the heater (installed in 1976) and the over-sized vent pipe,I decided that I would be more comfortable having an HVAC company replace the cap. Initially I called the company I currently have an annual contract with (Griffith Energy Services, Inc.) to get help. I was informed that they do not go on roofs (even though they installed the chimney facade I had removed!). I then checked Angie's List and choose Shaw Services. I called and explained the situation to them. They gave me a ball-park estimate ($250.00) to check the vent and replace the cap, and asked me if it would be ok if they sent someone over the next moring between 8 and 9 am. I agreed. Their technican arrived at 8 am with several caps of various sizes. He examined the existing vent and determined that it was in fact too small, but notified me that even though he had brought the largest adjustable vent they had, I needed a larger unit. He immediately got on the phone and found a supplier with a suitable cap (none of the suppliers in the local area had one that was an exact fit without ordering it, which would take several days to get and I did not want to wait). The cap he found was slightly larger but he could tailor it to fit and he arranged to pick it up on his way to his next job. He gave me a firm price of $225.00 (less than the $250 estimate) and he made an appointment to return between 3 and 4 pm the same day to install the correct cap. He arrived at 3:10 and was done by 4 pm. Not only did he tail the cap to fit, he carefully reinforced it and caulked it to ensure it was weather tight. Overall my experience with Shaw Services was excellent and I would strongly recommend them - In fact I was so impressed with their professionalism that I am having them price replacing my older furnace with a newer more efficient model (I have been thinking about this for a while, so when they did such good work, I decided to broach the subject with them - they did not bring it up to me).

I was recommended to use Shaw after a chimney sweep company and another HVAC company were unable to resolve the problem. Shaw has fixed the problem and will be installing a new liner for the chimney.

They are really responsive. The technicians are extremely courteous and take all the time in the world to explain things to you. When I have dealt with them on the phone and they are always very friendly, very one on one and personable. I found them on Angie's List and it's absolutely a pleasure to deal with them.

Company was excellent from beginning to end. Best price, answered all questions, didn't try to make me buy more than I had to. They scheduled an install right away, came on time, and finished early. I got 4 other quotes from Angie's List companies and they were the best deal.

I was able to get same-day service, and the technician arrived right on time. He was here for almost two hours and thoroughly check the inside and outside units. When leaks were found, he offered us a couple of different options to fix the system. He was friendly and professional. There were no high-pressure sales tactics.

After our home inspector told us we didn't have a compressor for the outside unit we were under the impression our air conditioner didn't work. I called two other companies from Angies who sent sales people trying to sell us $3000 units without even seeing if the current unit worked. Don from Shaw is the ONLY person to actually take the cover off... find the compressor (it was there), and after changing a fuse started the unit right up. Don was very professional and knew what he was doing. Thank goodness for honest people! I signed up for the yearly maintenance plan for $149. If he was that honest during the first visit I know he won't do us wrong. This should be the only guy you call for HVAC.

Our old furnace had shut off a day before the Christmas Eve and was leaking gas. They gave us an appointment on Christmas Eve to give us an estimate and go over the options. He went out of his way to make sure that the orders for the parts, supplies and equipments went in before the close of the Christmas Eve. The day after Christmas he came in and tore off the old furnace, put in the new one and did the all the duct work. I cannot speak highly enough of them.

They were very responsive & flexible. When the technician came out he actually made a thorough evaluation to find the problem whereas others that we had come out went right into full replacement mode with barely an effort at diagnosing the problem. We felt like they were trying to find the right solution for us rather than the most expensive one. Shaw was very professional & patient with my many questions. When they came out to do the replacement they were efficient with minimal disruption and they left everything clean.

Came out within an hour or two of our initial service call to fix our non-cooling A/C. Tech arrived, diagnosed our problem as a cracked coil, recharged our system with Freon and then gave us our options, we could replace the coil now or wait and see how long the charge lasted. He was very non-pushy, never even suggested replacing the system until we brought it up (it was a 12-year-old York system that had given us nothing but problems from day 1). He gave us estimates on the options available; then, when we decided to go ahead and replace our furnace too, he stopped by soon after we called to drop off more estimates as well as brochures on all of the possible configurations. Shaw applied 100% of our initial repair bill toward the cost of the new system (and also gladly accepted the Angie's List coupon we had). Installation went smoothly, showed up on time, cleaned up after themselves and, when they found they had to do some extra wiring, didn't charge us any extra for it.

They gave an estimate and the final cost was under the estimate and they did a fantastic job. They were very polite and I would definitely recommend them.

I am very pleased with Shaw's. They provide me with a maintenance service agreement. I pay them yearly for this service. They seem to be very good and they respond very quickly to your needs. Not only did they respond quickly, but they were good at explaining what the problem was and what it could have been. I do feel that you get a better response from them if you have the service contract. They were out here within two or three hours after I called them for this. I am very comfortable with the service they provide.

We used Shaw to fix our A/C. They were very good, came out the next morning and did not charge an emergency service fee. I would give them the highest grade in all categories.

The visit went well; the person who came to check on the unit was courteous and honest about the issue with my A/C unit. They recharged my unit with Freon and immediately the house began to cool. In addition, he checked the coils for leaks and did not find any leaks.

I have nothing but good experiences with them. I have used this company for 5 years now. Everything about them is exemplary. Always prompt and their prices are fair. They clean up when they are finished. I couldn't ask for anything more.
