I've been very pleased with his services. He is friendly yet professional and very polite. Friends and relatives who have seen his work at my home have asked who completed the jobs, and one friend consequently hired him to do work at her home and was pleased also.
Mr. Samsky had to come back to redo the Restore on front porch and walk because of damage by unexpected snow and hail we experienced on March 17th. He came and spent entire Sunday (4/13) to make sure everything was done according to our agreements.
"Wow, I earned all A's from you when I responded to your frantic call within four hours regarding your door eerily opening and closing throughout the night. I installed a new lockset for little more than what it cost me. This was after I did a custom door installation for you and charged you half of what anyone else would have. I earned all F's when I showed up at your home when I said I would, told you it was a power company issue, but I would repair it when you said they wouldn't, but I had to have the power turned off first. This was supposedly arranged, according to your email, but then you frantically left me 4 messages and 2 emails, all within 15 minutes the morning the work was to take place. They were coming, they weren't coming, etc. Nevertheless I arrived and saw the boom truck in your driveway. I called you from my cell, which has always been on my email (as you copied), and was told that the power company worker would do the repair. I'm pretty sure I suggested that earlier. While I do quite a bit of free work, and advertise it on my website for people who can't afford to have repairs made, I don't like having my time wasted by someone who wants to have me at their beck and call, and expects me to be subservient to them under the threat of a bad review. I treat everyone with respect, but won't be your doormat. And of course you got your work done for free, and I charged you nothing for two trips to your home. You are correct in stating that I generally don't answer my office phone, because usually no one is in the office. We're all out working, but return all calls even if it's out of our work area or a type of work we don't do. If someone shows enough interest to call, I certainly show them appreciation and call them back. So you've accomplished what you wanted to do: made yourself feel powerful by butchering another contractor. Before long there will be no one left who will work for you."
"This work was completed January 7, 2011, and not January of 2013. The total price was $3296, The scope of the work was to install a tub and surround in the hall bath, replace cabinet doors and lights in the hall bath and master bath, install new facets and shower heads in the hall bath and master bath, paint the cabinets in the hall bath and master bath, install a threshold in the hall bath, repair drywall in the linen closet, replace the diverter cartridge in the hall bath (the source of a leak),replace cabinet hardware in the hall bath and master bath, caulk master bath shower, and paint the hall bath. The price we offered was far less than other estimates, and since she had used us before, and obviously been happy, she used us again. We did not replace the diverter valve, so there was no "gluing" or soldering done by us. We started at the time both parties agreed to, and finished when we said we would, showing up a 9:30 every morning and working until 6. We made other repairs for her at no extra charge. At the end of the week, she was very happy with the work, paid us, and we were gone, She called me the next morning and was extremely upset that one cabinet knob was not perfectly centered. In a snowstorm I drove to her home and was there within an hour of her call, fixing the problem in five minutes. She sat on the floor crying the few minutes I was there, and when I asked what was wrong, she said that it was her house and if she wanted to cry that was up to her. When I left she said something to the effect of "thanks for coming over, I hope that we can still be friends, and no hard feelings". I never had any hard feelings, don't know why I would, and while I'm friendly to my customers, I don't think they or I consider us friends. She was one of many customers I try to do my best to make happy. Nothing more, nothing less."
