He does really nice work. He does communicate by email. He is very thorough.

I've been very pleased with his services. He is friendly yet professional and very polite. Friends and relatives who have seen his work at my home have asked who completed the jobs, and one friend consequently hired him to do work at her home and was pleased also. Mr. Samsky had to come back to redo the Restore on front porch and walk because of damage by unexpected snow and hail we experienced on March 17th. He came and spent entire Sunday (4/13) to make sure everything was done according to our agreements.

Provider came to my house, examined the problem and stated that it would take only a few bolts to affix it back to the wall. He said that he needed the electric company to come and turn off the electricity. He said any morning the next week - as he would clear his schedule. He wanted it early in the AM. I scheduled Monday at 8:00 AM. He wrote me back that he would only be able to stay 30 minutes - if they did not come, he had a doctor's appt and he would have to leave. I called the electric company at 7:00 am to confirm, they said they might be late, so I told them to reschedule for Tuesday, so as not to interfere with John's appt. The electric company came at 7:30 am on Monday. I spoke to John and told him that I would call him back in just two minutes to make sure that all parties would be available now. He said fine, when I called his number several times, no answer. There never is an answer, so I assume that that is just a land based phone he does not use except to take messages. He obviously uses a cell phone on the road. I had made multiple phone calls to make sure all parties would not be inconvenienced and left him a message that I don't know why he never answers his phone. Here is the highly sarcastic message he left for me. I had used him several times in the past, and paid a very high sum for his services for bigger jobs, so I don't know why he was so nasty. Moreover, the electric company said his "fix" was highly inappropriate. It required an extension pipe and multiple other repairs to be properly attached. The company said it was potentially dangerous and that the repair suggested by John Samsky would never have worked. This was representative of the "good customer service" that John provides. I told him I was glad he was willing to put his words into writing so I could post it on Angies list. Debbie, I wasn't able to answer the phone when you called my office for two reasons-no one is in the office until 8:30, and I was on my way to your home to do the job. So I've got two trips to your home that took up a lot of my time, and of course was a total waste and unproductive for me. And of course you'll never find another contractor that will be at your beck and call for such a small job. So I'll live and learn. We had gotten another estimate, at twice the cost, for the same work but it entailed a whole day's work, several workers and more than we thought necessary for a simple repair. Mr. Samsky approached the job with the intent of making it as simple and logical as possible. No major repairs were needed. The rotting board was removed, the new board cut and nailed, and necessary caulking applied to prevent further problems. He then proceeded to apply two coats of paint to the new wood. The whole process took less than three hours and has held up very well in the ensuing months. I'd certainly use Mr. Samsky again.

I just had a licensed plumber tell me that Samsky did *not* solder the bathroom plumbing ... he *GLUED* the copper pipes together (and the plumber showed me) -- a DISASTER WAITING TO HAPPEN. He also didn't seat the faucet properly and installed a gasket upside down, which ended up causing a leak that came through the ceiling below. The plumber told me that it was so bad (never seen anything like it!) that it was grounds for legal action. Prior to having the plumber out, I knew that I had been wronged by Samsky ... just didn't know the extent. I wish I could attribute it to plain old incompetence/ignorance, but sadly, I believe the shameful workmanship was motivated strictly by greed. The only thing he is good for is putting perfume on a pig. What a bad egg this guy is. But karma is a B, and he will undoubtedly reap what he sows eventually.

John gave an estimate by email which turned out to be quite accurate (actually cost a little less). His pricing is fair, he shows up as scheduled, and does excellent work. He is dependable. I will use again if the need arises.

He was on time, courteous, performed first-class work, and provided great value.
