It went fine. I ended up hiring them to do more work.

I called multiple times and left messages, and I received no response. It doesn’t seem like they want my business. They came out without contacting me and did an estimate for services I don’t want. I asked to get an estimate for what I actually want done, and I still haven’t heard back from them.

I purchased a Big Deal with them and they emailed me right away saying someone would be in contact with me in 2 days to schedule. After almost a week went by without hearing from them, I went ahead and hired someone else.

He was really quick and professional. It was a good service I thought. He knows the trees and he will look at them. He was knowledgeable, but he did not do any work. I think the Deal was a decent price; it was fine. He was very responsive and punctual. I do not think I would need any more evaluations.

Removed a large oak tree that had fallen across my driveway. I called and said it was a semi-emergency and they got a crew out within an hour, sawed it as I requested, and cleaned up. Couldn't have asked for better service.

Very friendly, very professional. Extremely happy with the service they provided. Hopefully my cherry tree will be healthier and happier in the spring!

The arborist that initially showed up (I purchased a previous deal) was very personable and knowledgeable. He explained everything I could ever want to know about the trees in my front and back yard. After his assessment of the largest tree in the front, I was given two options: prune it now and cut it down later or cut it down now. Both prices I felt were more than fair for the amount of work involved. Though I wasn't contacted when they arrived as I expected, the job was done well. By the time I made it home, all work had been completed and the yard was completely cleaned up.

It took a while to get them to come out. It was not very well coordinated. It was difficult to get them to call back. Their communication was not good.

I purchased a big deal from Ross Tree Service. I don't remember the exact date--sometime in June, I'm pretty sure. I do not believe that the visit time was pre-established, I happened to be at home. I was most concerned about my serviceberry tree that had severe fungus and insect problems. As we passed the maple tree he gave me information about how best to prune so that the tree remained healthy--unasked for information and very welcome. Overall, he was very pleasant, took his time, and looked carefully at the concerns I pointed out. He appeared to agree with my diagnosis. Because the problem was severe, he said it would take going over the tree branch by branch, cutting off the problem twigs and branches to save it. He commented that it would be a shame to have to take it out because it had a beautiful canopy, but the implication was that having a tree service do this kind of work would require many many man hours. He did not suggest that I hire them to do that. Two of my shrubs had a lot of die-back from disease or winter-kill. He was not able to tell me what specific problems they had. Ross was primarily interested in identifying trees that needed trimming--it is my own fault that I didn't check that out more in advance of buying the Big Deal. When he said they would have come out for free to look at the tree/shrubs I was unhappy with myself. So I got some good advice on one tree for $50 along with a pleasant conversation. Live and learn.

I would never use this company, no way, no how! On 10/6/14, I met with Mr. Dan Ross around noon at my home to do an assessment of an overgrown tree in my front yard. At that meeting he was friendly, professional and knowledgeable, all of which persuaded me to immediately agree to have his company do the job of significantly pruning and trimming the tree. He indicated that he might have to have his bucket lift placed on my next door neighbor's driveway to get better access to north side of the tree. I told him I first needed to get my neighbor's permission. He acknowledged this and then said his crew supervisor would be calling shortly to schedule the work. I received no follow-up call that day. The next day (10/7), sometime in the late morning, a young lady from the Ross Tree Service called to inform me that the work crew and trucks were already on the way to my home work on the tree. I told her I was surprised to hear this since I never received a call to actually schedule the work. I also told her that I had not yet seen my neighbors to get their permission to allow tree service equipment on their driveway. She said she would immediately call off the crew and would get back to me promptly to schedule the work. After a few hours of not hearing back from her or anyone, I called and was again told that I would soon get a call from the crew supervisor to schedule the work. Never got a call or message from this gentleman. Shortly after 7:30 pm that evening I received a call from Dan Ross. He was very agitated and angry. He accused me of giving his company the "runaround." He claimed that when I first spoke with him I had agreed to have the work done whenever his crew and equipment happened to be in the vicinity, presumably between other jobs. I told him I never agreed to that. (I am old school: I like to schedule in advance any work by any contractor in my home or on my property. I want to be there to make sure the work is done right. I would never agree to such an open-ended, indefinite and ad-hoc arrangement as he claimed.) Mr. Ross proceeded to yell at me. I told him he was being rude and disrespectful. He yelled a bit more then abruptly hung up on me. (His yelling on the phone was loud enough for my wife, sitting at the other end of the six-seat kitchen table, to hear it.) I was genuinely shocked by this abrupt Jekyll and Hyde change in his demeanor from one day to another. I certainly didn't expect this behavior from the owner of one of the highest rated tree companies on Angie's List. Bottom-line: Ross will never get any business from me.

It went well and we asked for a proposal as to the cost of several items. His proposal came and was quite confusing We contacted the office and asked for a change in some areas and an updated proposal with just the things we wanted done. Still have had no reply.

Contacted Ross Tree Service and made arrangements for the free estimate to remove tree from front yard. Estimate went well and Mr Ross suggested that we have a large tree on the side of our house removed due to the location and the condition of the tree. We agreed to have it removed. He also mentioned that the mulberry tree which was small right now would probably be a nuisance so we also had that tree removed. We had some communication issues on the appointment times and days as I preferred to be home when the removal was scheduled but that didn't work out. Upon arriving home after the work was to be done there was about four feet of the tree still sticking up out of the ground. When I finally contacted them after a couple of calls I found out that they had to stop because we had a yellow jacket nest next to the tree. They had communication issues within their business the office thought the field person had called me and the field person thought the office had called me, but no one did and I didn't know why the job wasn't completed. I contacted a pest control company and we took care of the bees, it took about two weeks to have that completed. I called them two days after having the nest treated to schedule their return and never received a call back, I called the field person and left a message. I called the office next, after another week, and asked them to let me know when they would be back out to finish the job. I never received a call and one day I came home and the most of the tree was removed. I wanted to be home to ensure the tree was cut flush to the ground. It wasn't and I haven't called back. It is still sticking up out of the ground about a foot and it isn't even flat across. I did pay for it to be flush. They are nice people I just feel there is a disconnect with the field folks and the office and I'm disappointed with the quality do removing that particular tree, it wasn't of the same quality as the others. It seems as if they weren't interested in coming back to finish.

Traci reminded me of a caring doctor giving a patient diagnosis on each tree. He was very thorough and emailed a clear and concise proposal.

Called ahead, arrived on time and were very professional and courtesy. Cleaned up and removed all the debris. Really enjoyed working with them! Learned a lot too.

Mr. Ross gave me a professional evaluation of all the trees on my lot both mature and growing. He provided a wealth of information and a reasonable cost estimate of work needed. He was was on time and was very helpful and courteous.

They were the cheapest because everyone else was trying to charge me $800. It was a good experience. They took all the materials. It was painfree for me and I didn't have to worry about anything.

This is the third time I've used Ross and I've been extremely pleases every time. This latest time I used an Angie's list $390 coupon. Ross did a great job trimming the trees and the clean-up was perfect. I really recommend them.

Mr Ross examined the trees and gave us information on what we could do ourselves. Unfortunately, the self-help program isn't working and we will need to get Mr Ross out again.

I was very pleased with their work and will definitely use them again. I highly recommend this company.

He was very nice. It was just the owner and he was very nice and knowledgeable. He seemed very knowledgeable on services with his technicians who came out to do a little fertilizing. The actual servicing of the tree took longer than I thought it would be. So I suggest them a more timely and quicker service. They did know what they were talking about.

Ross Tree Service Ltd, we called to request an appointment and within 24 hrs we had an free estimate consultation with the expert arborist. Although the expert didn't make it to our house at the prescribed time (traffic in PW county is unpredictable, we were not bothered by this) he did call and make sure we knew that he'd be a little late and confirmed that this was ok with our schedule and plans. When he arrived, he was professional, courteous and very knowledgeable; he knew and recognized every tree in our 1 acre lot, which is an extensive eclectic collection of trees some native a few not (which we were not aware of). We started on the area of the yard that would be the focus/priority of the estimate, but he took the time to go over our entire yard so we could get an idea of problem trees to watch and work into our future tree maintenance plan (this was greatly appreciated and not presented in a way that put pressure on us to pay more money, but rather in a "it's ok not to do this tree now, but don't wait too long our it could land on your house or your neighbors house.") He wrote up our estimate on-the-spot and even adjusted the price when I told him I found his company on Angies List and referenced advertised coupons and deals. We called to arrange a date to complete estimated tree work and there ended up being some communication breakdowns and confusion. My husband requested they come as soon as possible, indicating the next day (7 July) Monday would be fine, the receptionist said that would probably doable but never called back to confirm or follow-up. This was really only a minor issue because that particular day my husband was not able to be home and we would have preferred to be home while this was going on, if not for anything else but to address additional limbs if we needed. The morning of the 7 July, my husband was taken by surprise when a tree trimming crew for Ross Tree Service arrived at our home presumably unannounced. The person who arrived started asking my husband for direction on what trees to cut, and where etc; which was a little odd since there was a written-up estimate stating this. Mr. Ross arrived shortly after and provided apologies regarding the communication breakdown. He took lead on identification of trees and limbs to remove. My husband asked what time they'd be complete and he said they had a second crew coming at noon and he expected them to stay through 1600. Thinking that this time was accurate my husband and I both planned to arrive around 1430-1500 to provide payment and or add services if need be. When we arrived home no one was there but everything was perfectly done. All the items within the invoice were completed, and any areas that they conducted trimming or pruning were cleaned immaculately; they even swept our steps and drive way. So all in all this was a great experience and even though there were a few hiccups this was a very efficient and effective project. We called Mr. Ross when we got home and completed payment over the phone with the receptionist.

I called Ross Tree Service Thursday 6/19/14 to remove a broken branch from one tree and do some other work on other trees. On Monday 6/23/14 someone called to schedule an appointment for Tuesday evening 6/24/14 between 5 and 6. No one showed up. Thursday 6/25/14 after not hearing from them, I called to inquire about the no show appointment and was told someone would call me back. No one called. I had the work done by John m Dyer Tree Service (very knowledgable, professional people).

Prompt response. Understood what we wanted and gave us a quote at the end of the initial visit. Work started on time and cleanup was done as requested. Would definitely use again.

The tree work was done as advised in the back yard. When the branch was taken down, it hit the driveway and left a small divot in the asphalt. Mr. Ross assured me that when the weather warmed they would come back and repair the divot. After the weather had sufficiently warmed up, I called and left a message reminding him. The next time I called, I spoke with a receptionist and she assured me he would be reminded. Three weeks later I called and the receptionist sounded puzzled that the work had not been done, that she had seen it on the "board". A month later and still no repair work for a 4" round and inch deep divot. I gave up and repaired it myself. They know their tree work, but not much about customer service.
