I want to thank all of the workers who helped with removing many of my tree limbs. In the beginning, I met with Dan (the owner) and Brian Allman to go over what needed to be done in our yard. Their expertise was amazing and they were very understanding when listening to my concerns. Danny, Eric, and Julio were professional, friendly, and also very knowledgeable of trees. They went above and beyond with their service. I greatly appreciate everything they did. I am still amazed how high they can climb! In closing, I will definitely call Ross again for future tree service (they taught me so much (especially about the Mulberry bush or 'Squirrel bush' as I referred to it)). I will also gladly tell my neighbors about your service. Thanks again!

They did a nice job and worked hard. They showed up early, did the work in the time they said they would, did everything they said, and did a professional job. They were also easy to get in touch with and schedule with. The job was a fair value, but not inexpensive.

Ross was professional and knowledgeable. Went through the yard answering questions and evaluating all of our trees. Quickly identified all of them by species, pointed out a couple of things to watch, and gave us an estimate on treating an infected tree. Scheduling was a bit haphazard. I had said Thursdays were best, so I got a call one Thursday afternoon from Ross saying that he could be at my house in under five minutes (I had a conference call 30 minutes from then). He came and was very, very rushed (not sure if it was just his manner or the time constraint). I had a hard time keeping up. Thankfully my husband had come home early from work and was able to catch what I missed. All in all, pleased with their service.

The ash tree removal was a tricky job. The tree was large but dying from ash tree borer and was in very close proximity to the house; the electrical service line to the house ran between the main trunks of the tree. Team Matt was punctual and immediately got to work. They took great pains to ensure nothing happened to the house or to a deck which was also very close to the tree; they worked around the electrical line without needing to have electric company involvement. I had requested they try and spare a number of mature evergreens that were growing close to the tree; no damage at all to these plants. The team was thorough in cleaning up all debris. Highly recommended. The Arborjet treatment was a little difficult to schedule, requiring three phone calls after the ash tree was removed. Brian did a good job with the treatment and also provided some useful information on some work I was contemplating but as it turned out was not needed. He provided an evaluation of other trees in the vicinity of the house. I was very pleased with the Arborjet portion of the job.

It went very well. We were impressed with their attention to detail, courteousness and efficiency. A job well done.

I had to reach out to them to schedule after a week but that was because it was their first time doing the Angie's List deal and there was a bit of confusion. Once contacted they were incredibly responsive. The owner came out and spent a great deal of time teaching me what to look for a tree's health. It was incredibly informative and reassuring - trees I thought were probably bad were not as bad bad, and others I had no idea are ones we put on the "watch list." I plan to have them come out every spring once the leaves are out and assessing them all again to see if any is in rapid decline.

Originally scheduled for the previous week but weather prohibited the work. They called promptly and rescheduled. They verified the work schedule the evening before and arrived when expected. They were very professional across the board. We would use them again with no reservations.

The work went very well. The arrived when they said they would. Took time to access condition of backyard since we had gotten a good amount of rain 3 days before that. Their professionalism was great. They had all 3 trees down, debris cleared, wood hauled away and stumps ground within two hours of starting their work. They were extremely polite and did a great job in cleaning up after themselves. Brian, the project manager also offered to do some trimming of other established trees in the yard and also took the time to explain how we as homeowners can take care of pruning ourselves, explaining the proper technique. Will definitely use them again when we decide to plant new trees to replace the evergreens they removed. I had heard great things about this company but until you actually use them, you can fully understand how the reviews can be so good. A great bunch of guys!

Called at 7am. Was given an appointment "within the hour" and Dan Ross made it by 8am. The situation was reviewed, an estimate provided, agreed to, and work scheduled. The 50t crane was to arrive by 9:30am on the same day, and was only a few minutes late. The rest of the tree crew was another hour in arriving. Maybe I should have confirmed the expected time, but I did not think about it and assumed they would arrive with the crane. Probably for the best they arrived later than I expected since the high winds kept up and a nice calm occurred when they were hoisting the tree top over the house and part of their working time. Anyway, once there, they worked out the specific plan of how to remove the tree without doing more damage and got right to it. Two hours from arrival to completion and the work was done! The job was removing a large pine (60' MOL) leaning on the back corner of the house, cutting it up, shredding of the small bits, and disposing of the bigger bits. They also had to trim a tree in the front yard so the crane's boom could maneuver. They used the crane, a climber, & men on ropes to control it. They kept additional damage from occurring to the house, deck, and fence, which had recently been fixed from a previous tree fall. The crew were all friendly and seemed to know their business. When the weather warms, I plan to have them back for preventative tree maintenance.

Bryan and Dan from Ross came out during the artic freeze to give us a quote, despite the temps. They gave a fair quote and honored a coupon amount from the Angie's List monthly magazine. They were very accommodating and able to do the work on the same day I gave a verbal agreement. They showed up on time, got to work quickly and were done within a short period of time in accordance with what we discussed. They were even able to add on some work that we had not previously discussed, on the fly.They cleaned up all the debris and even took debris that had fallen during a recent ice storm. I referred them to my next door neighbor while they were onsite and are making efforts to work with them to provide much needed services. I was very pleased and would call them again and refer them to anyone seeking the service!

They did fair. They didn't do the job that I was expecting. They removed the tree, but then left some parts of the roots on the ground. They just didn't remove everything completely or clean up well.

Great experience all the way around. When they came out to estimate, they gave us a great price and then gave us some additional options for pruning of other trees and removing poison ivy. These were options they gave us so did not have to do them, nice to get some ideas of other things needed. The total price including the options was lower than some other quotes we got just for removing the tree and grinding the stump. They scheduled the work within a week, showed up on time with a team of people, and proceeded to complete the work that day. Everyone was very professional, and very nice to deal with. The work was done to my complete satisfaction. Everything was cleaned up completely. Very easy company to work with!

They have not come back yet to grind the stump. I called the office on 8/22/13 and was told by the lady I spoke to that she would check with the person that did that and call be back. As of 8/26/13 I have not received a return call. Not very reliable service. UPDATE: Very timely coming out and cutting down tree. I was told they would be back out the next day to grind the stump after I paid them in full(that sounded a little iffy but I assumed they knew better than me). Waited almost a week and after they still failed to show I called and was told by there representative she would find out when they would be out and call be back. Never heard back from her. Called again several days later and was told the same thing. Finally the following day she called back and said they would be out the following day. They failed to show again. After another call and advising them I was turning the whole thing over to my attorney they finally came out and finished the job by grinding the stump. Gave me the excuse that my paperwork was lost. Would not use them again.

They came out and pruned a lot of holly hedge. They had to prune another tall holly in the front of the house. They had to do some additional pruning around the house. They worked in hot conditions, and were very polite. I would highly recommend them.

I called to get an estimate on removing a tree stump that was close to the garage. I received a quote over the phone after a few questions about the spacing and diameter of the tree stump. Ross' estimate was by far the most reasonable, so scheduled an appointment. They arrived on-time and did an excellent job removing the tree stump, and gave an estimate on a tree in the back yard that they noticed needed to come down. Extremely hard working and professional, and I will use Ross Tree Services for all future jobs.

Excellent! The River Burch was planted too close to the house. The roots caused cracks in the basement wall foundation. We cut the tree down, but the stump removal process was another issue. I called Ross Tree Service and received a return telephone call within hours. The guys came to give me an estimate, but the price was right and they were very professional and eager to help, so the job was done immediately. I would highly recommend them and will definitely use again in the future.

tThey arrived promptly and were able to remove the tree which was 10 away from our house and 20ft from the neighbor's house without damaging anything. They cleaned the area of all the debris. It was a first rate job. i would definetly contact Ross Tree Service for any future tree needs.

A strong gust of wind blew over a dead tree in my yard, and I contacted Ross Tree Service for an estimate. While other companies took days to give me an in-person estimate, Ross Tree Service came out immediately (within a couple hours of my initial phone call) and gave me a fair estimate to remove the tree. I called them on a Friday to let them know that I wanted to go with their company, and they came out the following Tuesday to remove the tree. They were very quick, and they even hauled away smaller pieces of wood from the tree that I had stacked in a nearby pile. I was very happy with their work, and how quickly they completed the service.

They came out and gave me a quote that I though was REALLY good price wise for what I wanted done. Almost too good to be true I thought. They were delayed a few days because their bucket truck was in the shop, but they kept me in the loop. I was hoping to be home to monitor the job, but they did it on a day I was not. But to my surprise when I got home, not only was the job done great, but they cleaned everything up great. No branches lying around, all cleaned. Maybe they could have cut the cherry a little closer to the ground, but more then balanced by the fact that they cleared far more of the mess of blackberries then I actually asked for. Neighbor who was home said they look totally professional. Will call them first next time I need tree work.

We contacted Dan Ross, owner-arborist of Ross Tree Service, Ltd, and he and Bryan spent a couple of hours surveying the job on a Thursday. We accepted the proposal on Monday, and the job was mutually agreed to start on Wednesday, April 24. Dan and Bryan with a large crew of perhaps a dozen arrived early on the scheduled date with two sets of removal equipment and all the tools and set to work immediately. The owner-arborist remained on site and was active all day as expert overseer and worker. Bryan and another supervisor divided and closely controlled the work being done. From the start Dan and Bryan kept constantly in touch with us and remained very flexible about details. The estimated work was regarded more as an outline than a detailed scope of work, and they did what they advised and we thought needed to be done. Instead of three trees they removed six, and took out two old stumps as well. They pruned everything on the original list, a couple of J** maples and whatever else would help the property. The pruning was done meticulously, and the large elm in particular was completely renewed. Dan and Bryan did a fair amount of ground level pruning themselves. Cleanup was constant and all material and debris were taken away leaving the place without leftover evidence they were there. The flowering and fruit trees were fertilized around the drip line. When Dan came the next day to receive payment, he spotted an old juniper, not on the original estimate, that had some dead branches which he pruned for 20 minutes before he came for payment. Overall the job went very well and better than expected. The crew were competent and careful. They were constantly busy and always under supervision, and mutual respect top to bottom was evident; there were no OMG!! incidents. There were no requests for price adjustment for unanticipated work, and because of the size of the crew the work was completed expeditiously and ahead of schedule. We are more than satisfied with the work done would highly recommend Ross Tree Service, Ltd. for tree and landscape refurbishment. We plan to use them again.

We were quite pleased. Ross promptly answered our call for an estimate. They took time to understand our needs, and made some recommendations on keeping the other trees healthy. When the work was completed our neighbors and our yards were cleaned . Our only concern was damage to the bark of the Bradford pear, leaving a scar. They did come to check it out, and it was not a problem.

I had initially requested an estimate from multiple tree service companies (including Ross) in the fall of 2011 when the tree unexpectedly dropped all its green leaves. The estimates ranged from $2800 to $5000 (the higher priced estimates required a crain to support and remove the limbs) since the tree was too close to existing houses to be felled in one piece. I procrastinated, waiting until the next year hoping that the tree somehow was going to recover. It didnt. By the summer, I was getting concerned that it might fall on the house. I took too much time and the derecho wind storm dropped a whopping 14" limb on my house. Time to have the rest of the tree removed. I called Ross again and they pointed out that the tree may now be too weak to safely be climbed. After a closer look, they decided to take the risk and send a climber into the tree to remove and lower the limbs to the ground (rather than using a crain). Watching this reminded me why I hired professionals. Unfortunately, the one tree (in the understory) that I told them I wanted protected had a significant bite taken out of it by a large limb. Otherwise, there was no damage to a nearby fence or to the house. The back yard was a tremendous mess when they were finished, but I was still happy to have that tree down.

Requested an estimate via email. I contracted with another firm a few hours before hearing from Danielle at Ross. I had expected to take more time for bids but my tree was in worse shape than initially thought. The 1st equipped bidder onsite ended up with the work.
