I would avoid this company like the plague. We hired them to fix our existing toilet, which is only a few years old. Instead, they had my husband push a button on the technician's Ipad which apparently authorized them to charge us $1,100 to replace the toilet entirely (without giving us the option of selecting the new toilet). Given that the toilet they installed costs about $300 at Home Depot, I guess these guys charge around $800 an hour. Perhaps we should have been suspicious when my husband asked, "Why am I having to sign so many copies of this form?" and the plumber replied "We'll need those for court." When I contacted the company, they were hostile and rude. Both the owner Randy and his employee Bruce hung up on me on different calls. A terrible experience.

DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY!!! I initially contacted Home Service Doctors for conduct a leak inspection and I was at first very impressed. The tech Michael was great . . . very professional, seemed very honest and was helpful. I was impressed enough to sign up for their monthly membership. My experience with them went downhill with them FAST!!! A few days later, I experienced a floor in my basement laundry room draining pipe. I called HSD again and a technician came out and snaked the drain pipe, but then recommended I get the line Hydro Jetted, to which I agreed and he completed, but it didn't seem to work, so he suggested I needed to have the line removed & replaced which meant my concrete floor would have to be ripped out to the tune of $3k+. I agreed and scheduled the service for the following day. The crew shows up (not wearing face masks and seemed offended when I asked them to wear them). They checked out the area and then informed me that they wouldn't be able to complete the task and then left without doing any work. Later that evening, I noticed something floating in the draining hole. I fished it out and it turned out to be a squeegy ball and an old tube of lip balm (see photo). Apparently, the snaking & hydro jetting the tech had done the day before had loosened it and they floated to the top of the drain. This apparently was the cause of the blockage because we had no more problems with the drain properly draining and haven't experienced any problems since. I notified Home Service Doctors the very next day to advise that whatever the first technician did with the snaking & Hydro Jetting apparently worked and the problem had been resolved, and therefore I wouldn't need the more extensive (and expensive) job of jack-hammering my concrete floor to replace the draining pipe and to cancel the additional service and refund the $1,550 deposit I had paid. I was given the run-around and finally spoke with the Services Manager, Brent, who hemmed & hawed saying that deposits are non-refundable, even though they had done NO work and actually had refused to do any work. I also explained to him that the snaking & hydro-jetting actually seemed to have resolved the issue, so there actually was no need for the more extensive draining work because they had actually fixed the issue. He still refused to refund me my money. In my opinion, this company is a fraud. They recommended a service that I obviously did not need which would have meant literally jack-hammering up my concrete flooring. And on top of that, THEY refused to do the work. So how can they justify not refunding me the deposit I paid for a service they refused to do, and for which is no longer needed because THEIR first technician actually resolved the matter. This experience with Home Service Doctors has turned into an utter nightmare!! I thought they were a honest and fair company. Unfortunately for me, I learned the hard and expensive way that they are anything but. I would be very wary of doing business with this company. Oh . . .and they also failed to install my new filter grill for my HVAC system and STILL haven't refunded me my money. I would NOT recommend this company at all!! If I could give them a zero rating I would!!!

DO NOT HIRE THESE PEOPLE!!!!! The sales person came to our home. We needed a French Drain installed to handle the water from out sump pump. Out yard was literally a lake! Home Service Doctor promised to fix the problem and make our back yard dry again. We paid our $3000. The men came and installed a pipe but forgot to install any well to catch the water. Our backyard was still in the same state it was before these people came. I tried to get them to return and fix it properly. They have been ditching our calls for months now. I had another company come out to fix the problem. They said Home Service Doctors installed the pipe incorrectly. Fortunately, the Hernandez Construction Company fixed the problem but I'm still chasing after Home Service Doctors to get my refund!!

They are a cheating company. They didn't do the work, they should at least give me back my money. If they took a little for a service charge for coming out, that's fine, but they won't give me any of it.
Description of Work: May 4, I had a clog, I called them - they came and snaked it on May 5. then on the 7th, they called and came out to put a camera down there. We saw standing water in the pipe. The technician did not mention the cause, just that it looks bad and dirty, they need mill it. They wanted to sell something to me, $3800, then they gave me some other options and we settled on something for $840. Then they took 50% of my payment, signed the papers. Then Friday, I did my research and I figured out the real reason the water was standing in there. I called them and told them I wanted to cancel them to come out. Their technician diagnosed it wrong. I talked to their manager. On May 12, they wouldn't get me my deposit back.

I would recommend that you NEVER use "Home Service Doctors". They came and replaced my entire sewer line as well as another complication inside the house. They ended up charging three times what any other plumber would charge and I had to pay upfront. They promised they would work closely with USAA. They said they worked with them all the time! Now, it's been 4 months later and they still havent supplied my ins. co. with the info they need to reimburse me, and now that they have my money, they won't accept my calls! Either the sales guy, His supervisor or the Owner of the company! Plus they said they also did installs. So I paid them to install a corner shower as well as my vanity. The guy couldn't figure out how to install the shower door, so he just said "sorry, this was my first shower install and I can't figure it out". Plus he installed the cabinet without shimming it so now there's a huge gap! And, you guessed it! I had already paid for the job! Now I have to put out another $500. to have someone else come and fix their mess! Save yourself a lot of frustration as well as money! They talk a sweet game, but they are liars and thieves! Very poor business practice!

Home Service Doctors saved us when a DIY leaky shower repair spiraled out of control and revealed some amateur, about-to-fail plumbing work hidden in the walls. Long story short, we needed a plumber on short notice. That was the main reason we went with Home Service Doctors - they could get there the next day. The Doctor came, replaced the shoddy stuff with actual professional plumbing, and all was well. While he was there, we commented on the strong water pressure in our house. He suggested installing a pressure valve at the main supply line where it comes into the house, so we had him do that, and we are glad we did (lower water bills!).

We called these folks to come out on 5 Feb 19 and look at our water heater and to change the direction of a bath/shower valve I replaced backwards (and couldn't get too). We donated 5 non-perishable items for their food basket effort in return for a free visit. Sounded like a community-minded firm and we called. First of all, he wanted to charge $180+ for 10 minutes of work on the shower valve...we passed (Ended up having it done for $90 with another company). Second, he looked at our water heater and started to scare the living daylights out of my wife with his scare tactics about an exploding water heater. It is a fact, they can explode, but the probability is so slim... Here is the real rub...in the following days we noticed the hot water was not hot at all. A quick inspection and I see our good friend Andre McB had turned the thermostat down to "warm". Unbelievable...is this someone you would trust? These folks might be good plumbers, but I would not trust anything they say without a second opinion. OBTW, I have found two plumbers that have quotes for the same size water heater or installation of a tankless water heater for HALF of what they quoted for each.

Poorly - the technician did a cursory glance of what needed to be done. I let him know what the HOA expected - not unlike the three plumbing companies before him (I am collecting bids to make an educated decision) and he was less thorough and more expensive - his estimate came in at three times the most expensive bid before him - more than $10K - ridiculous. Don't know how this company stays in business

The serviceman came on time. After I explained to him the problem that the faucet which turns on the shower or bath did not work well. He said he needs to examine the water throughout the house. He said hard water will cause the plumbing to wear out quickly and that water softener and water quality test is highly recommended. He recommended "Lancaster" to be the supplier for water softener. Then we asked why the water flow took so long for the water to come up. He checked all my bathrooms and adjusted the bathroom valves to loosen up one of the washers in a couple minutes. Surprisingly he pointed out that the toilet turns off itself every time I walked away. He said I need to replace the flusher inside the tank to avoid self flushing and wasting water. Then he went to the basement to check the water heater and recommended that I flushed the heater as it needs to be flushed every two or three years. He came back with a list of things to fix in writing - the list added up to $389 to fix the shower room faucet, $120 to replace the flushing system inside the toiler, and the list added up to a recommendation of a thousand dollars. Hey, I just wanted to fix the shower faucet which should be a simple fix of two or three hundred dollars. I did not intend to spend thousands for plumbing prevention or upgrade. I told him that and just paid him the service call of $40. Finally, I found another plumber who fixed my faucet by changing the valve inside in 35 minutes for a cost of $250. Now I started to wonder why my water smells rusty and I have to call water company to come out and check. I highly doubt about this company - why they called themselves home service doctors? Please do not trust this company. They are not here to serve, they are here to sell.
