Scott and his crew were incredible! Had a limited amount of time to get a client's property on the market and it needed a little work. Called Scott and he went out to do an estimate the same day and then scheduled the work the following day from when my client accepted the estimate. They went above and beyond to ensure the job looked great, even painted entire ceilings and walls to make sure the touch ups were even - at no extra charge! This is the type of crew a busy Realtor needs! Very well recommended!

Scott followed up immediately after reading my review and sent another copy. I appreciated his follow-up. Asked Scott to confirm some details. Getting 3 more estimates (at least scheduled to) today. After that we will see who wins.

Scott and his crew are fast, efficient and did a wonderful job. the deck looks better than new and with the new lighter color, it is not so hot anymore. Thanks Scott for coming to the rescue and doing a great job.

The second job was a big job. Scott, the owner was very good and he was a really good person to work with. He would do what I wanted him to do. We were clearing out my father's house and getting it ready for sale. They were extremely accommodating. It was the second time I've dealt with two of his crew members and they were very conscientious. They only forgot to do one thing and that was to scrap paint off the front door from the trim work. Overall they were very prompt and conscientious. There was always at least one person that was English speaking. One did my daughter's room before and they were good people. I didn't compare his prices. It may have been a little bit higher if I had shopped around. The price was not out of line for all they did. It was very good quality.

I knew I was in trouble watching my old gutters impersonate Niagara Falls, but like a deer in headlights, I was paralyzed into doing nothing. That ?not-itude? wound up causing wood rot damage to a couple of our porch columns. After getting a whole new gutter system with Mastershield, it was time to fix the wood damage. After reading the Angie List reviews, I asked Patriot Painting to give me an estimate for repairing the wood, repainting the entire front porch area (it needed it), and repairing some additional wood rot to the bottom of a bay window in the back of the house. The plywood had completely rotted to the point where insulation was falling out of the bottom. Additionally, I was interested in getting the house pressure washed. I talked with the owner, Scott Runkle, who came out to look at what was required to work up an estimate. Scott was low key and unassuming, but pleasantly engaged. He seemed to have a good grasp of the job scope. He did caution me that with wood rot repair jobs, the extent of the damage isn?t truly known until the job gets underway. I was hoping my procrastination wasn?t going to cost me even more in terms of unseen damage. Getting the actual estimate took awhile (I had to follow up as a reminder which is why I down-graded the responsiveness category to a B), which somewhat concerned me, but when I got it the price was in my ballpark. I elected to have everything done except the pressure washing of the house. We scheduled the job for roughly 1 ½ weeks later, hoping for good, dry weather (we had a lot of rain this spring!). Scott confirmed that he doesn?t take any money up front in advance of the job, which is quite a departure from normal industry practice. Roberto showed up and went right to work repairing the wood damage. He updated me every step of the way, and never hesitated to explain and show me what he was doing. Roberto worked diligently for two solid days repairing the problems. One of the porch columns had to be completely stripped down to the frame and redone. Painting was the next phase, but I had to go out of town before the painting crew arrived. When I returned two days later, the painting had been finished and the entire porch looked fantastic! I couldn?t have been more pleased. Writing this review 6 weeks after job completion, I can say that there?s been no evidence of paint peel or other issues at all. What a pleasant surprise to have such a high quality job done without my being able to interact with the crew. They even left behind a small amount of excess trim paint for later touch-ups, if needed. Both Roberto and the painting crew were fastidious in removing trash and cleaning up after the job. The final price for everything was exactly what was estimated. I was worried I might get a bigger bill since the wood rot on the one column seemed to be more involved, but Scott billed me only for what was estimated. I would have no qualms whatsoever in hiring Patriot Painters for additional work in the future, whether it be carpentry repair or painting. They did a superior job all around!

UPDATE: After having had a really good experience with Scott the first time, we contacted him again to get an estimate for deck washing/sealing and dish removal from the roof. Had to follow up with him to get an estimate after not getting a response in a timely manner. When the estimate finally came in, it was on a relatively high-priced side for our budget, as we already had a series of additional home improvement projects lined up. We communicated back to Scott that we decided to hold off on the deck maintenance/dish removal project for the time being. He seemed understanding. A few weeks later, we contacted Scott again, this time to get an estimate to paint the interior of our entire three-story house. It's now been a week, with no response. Assuming Scott felt it wasn't worthy of his time to come out and take a look, we feel very disappointed and decided not to use his services in the future, which is very unfortunate, as he seemed to have tried his best the first time we hired him. ----------- We had a difficult time finding a contractor who'd be willing to do the work for a reasonable price, within our budget. Many companies we called either never got back to us; called back promising an estimate and disappeared despite numerous follow-ups; or provided an estimate that was way outside of our comfort zone and required payment in advance. Scott came highly recommended by another company owner who we contacted but who was unable to do the work at the time. We called Scott and left him a voicemail message. Scott returned the phone call promptly and said he'd come out in the next few days to provide us with a quote. We were very pleased to receive the quote on a weekend, with a very reasonable price. There were a few modifications to the original quote that we suggested, and Scott promptly included those in the revised quote. We had a very small time frame for completing the project and expressed these concerns to Scott, who willingly took those into consideration and assured us that the work would be completed in a timely fashion, pending the weather forecast. We were amazed to see Scott early Monday morning come out and check the exterior of our house for dryness following a rainy night. In his email to us, he indicated that he'd be going to pick up the paint and providing an estimate for the arrival time of his crew. Talk about timing! Scott's crew arrived in a timely fashion, driving two vans and bringing two ladders. Even though there were both Hispanic, we didn't have any trouble communicating with them. The crew covered the area around the site of the project with material and began the prep work while letting the exterior of the house dry from the rain. Scott came back with the paint and spent some time talking to his crew and us. The entire project was completed in a timely fashion. The exterior of our house looks like it's brand new! Although there was some debris left after the crew had completed their work, it was so minor that it was fairly easy to clean up. Scott stopped by a little while later to pick up the payment. We were so happy with the quality of the work that we asked him to take a quick look at a few more projects that we wanted his team to work on. Since these projects are not as critical as the recently completed exterior painting, Scott and us agreed to touch base in about a month. We definitely look forward to it, and would HIGHLY recommend Scott to everyone else. Such companies are difficult to come by nowadays!

Scott Runkle e-mailed me an estimate after visiting the home. His estimate was beyond our budget so we told him not to paint few areas which we can finish ourselves and he agreed and sent us a new estimate that fit our budget. We set up a schedule and he sent his crew to do the work in a few days, rather promptly. Overall it went very smoothly except for few issues that arose and needed to be corrected so Scott came over, looked at the areas that needed workand sent two men to finish the work to our satisfaction. I'll be honest the ceiling could prep could have been better whicj I told the painters. Although we received quotes that were 20-25% lower, we felt comfortable that Patriot would get the job done in a professional way without all the headahces which we have incurred during the basement renovation and he assured us that we would be happy. I am happy and would recommend Patriot Painting.

I hired Patriot for two reasons: they had a wonderful special on Angie's list and their ratings were quite good. My dishwasher had sprung a leak and had damaged the drywall in my basement. Since drywall repair wasn't included in the special, we added on some extra cost, but overall their estimate was very reasonable for the size of the work. Patriot repaired the drywall, painted the entire basement (a very large space) and did a wonderful job. They were punctual, professional, and - when they departed - the area was thoroughly cleaned and restored. I would hire them again.

UPDATE: It turns out the company had the wrong email address for me and that was why I never received the price quotes. Scott called me today and we were able to figure out what had happened. But in the interim, I chose another contractor. ---------------------------------------------------- I called Patriot Painting to ask for a quote to stain a new deck and fence and to paint some siding. Scott showed up at the agreed time to walk the property and discuss the work and said he would send me a quote via email. He gave me a nice professionally done folder with information on the company, and seemed to be a legitimate businessman. After more than a week I sent Scott an email to remind him about our meeting and to ask for a quote. No response. A week later, I called him (left a voice mail message) and sent another email. Still no response. It's been another week and I still haven't heard anything from him.

We were looking for a painter to paint the exterior of our house. We contacted a couple of painters to get price quotes. Scott came out the next day to see us and discuss the job that we wanted done. He emailed us a quote the following day. His price was not the cheapest but they were right in the middle. But what impressed us was that he wanted no money upfront. Scott said he did not want any money until the job was done and we were satisfied. What company does that? Well that clinched the deal for us. Our team , Angel and Johnny were friendly, skilled, courteous and experienced ensuring at all times that we were happy with the work in progress and the final product. They are not just painters, they are truly skilled artisans of their profession. When you see the final outcome you see the difference between their work and other painters or your DIY. They cleaned up at the end of each day and never left a mess. Plus we were so pleased how quickly they completed this job. Our house now looks fabulous. They did a fantastic job. We could not be any more happy with our decision to have Patriot Painting paint our house. Thank you for a job well done!

The painters arrived on time on the scheduled day. They did a great job, did everything we asked. We had a rain day next day, but on the next sunny day, they completed the job on time and on schedule. Owner came by every day to check on the job. Very pleased and would call this contractor again.

I spoke with a representative of Patriot Painting and we scheduled an estimate appointment for Saturday, March 22 at 10:00am. I told the man my husband wanted to be present for the estimate to make sure we would get the services we wanted (sanding, filling, repair if needed, etc.) Patriot Painting never showed up nor did they call to reschedule. We have received no communication from them since. Obviously we went with a different company.

The painter called back 2 days after my initial message (no big deal). He said he would come out the next day to provide an estimate. I know he was here because he left a folder with references, etc. However, 2 weeks later I still have not received the estimate or had any communication with him. I followed up with an email a few days ago asking him about the estimate. No response. I am assuming he was not interested in the job for some reason, but a simple email or phone call stating such would have been considerate. I obviously won't be contacting him for any future estimates. Other reviews of Patriot's work are decent, but unfortunately I can't speak to that.

It was very good. The quality was excellent. The rooms looked great. They also finished ahead of schedule. The work was excellent. The owner stopped by himself so that was nice.

Everything was great, and the owner made the experience as smooth as possible. They showed up on schedule, completed the work on time, and had quality materials as well as craftsmanship. Ultimately, they went above and beyond, and I would highly recommend the company's services.

I called Patriot Painting and was quickly able to set up an appointment with Scott to get an estimate. After his visit, he was very prompt in getting the estimate to me, and responsive to my many email questions. We set up a start date for the work, and the crew started that morning. It was a 2-day process. The carpentry work was good, and the paint was matched perfectly. The crew was also friendly and helpful. I'm very satisfied with the results, and would recommend Patriot Painting for exterior work.

Quick, on time, cleaned up, put things back after painting, easy to work with, flexible, adaptable.

Very well. The crew arrived every morning before 8 a.m. and worked harmoniously and happily all day (our neighbors even commented on how happy and chatty they were). Ours was a fairly big job and a corner of siding had warped and buckled over time. They found the same cement board type siding and replaced that section as well as a few other areas of the house. Best of all, the overall paint job is just excellent. Rather than a blah blue house, it is now tan with blue shutters. It looks phenomenal now. (Our neighbors immediately asked if we were selling the house -- that's how nice it looks!) In short, the crew worked exceptionally well together and had their routine down pat, they worked hard all day long, took the storm windows out (and reinstalled them at the end), and cleaned up after themselves and the areas around the house each evening. We could not be happier with the job. It was cheaper than replacing the siding and the house looks brand new. Hire Patriot Painting!

Mr. Runkle's visit, estimate, and the materials he left behind (copy of license, etc.) were very professional. He accommodated our short deadline - he gave an estimate on Mon 09 Sep and completed the work on Thurs 12 Sep. Estimated it would be a 1-2 day job. Half of his crew showed up 1/2 hour after the window we were given for their arrival, had no paint, and didn't know what work was being performed. (why are they knocking if they don't know what to do?) Rest of the crew showed up 15 min later and work began. 4 workers, so plenty of manpower. Quality, professional painting overall, with the following complaints: -overall impression is that crew was in a rush to finish, especially since Mr. Runkle estimated it would be a 1-2 day job. They were done painting at 1:30pm, cleaned up and gone by 3:00 pm on the first day. Competent painting, but the drywall repairs and clean-up seemed to suffer, I had to ask for taping on one line, and had to ask for touch-up paint for the ceiling that was painted. - Disappointed that there was not a fluent English speaker on his crew. Competent team, but there was a language barrier that hindered communication. Owner checked in once during the morning, but not later to evaluate the job completion. - Had to request that one of the sharp lines that were needed from foyer to upstairs hall be taped and then painted. One of the younger of the crew was free-handing it - he had talent, but the line wasn't straight. His explanation was that he didn't want to tape over paint that was just put down - makes sense, but why is that my problem? Again - crew was in a rush to finish and leave. Shouldn't have been a problem to let paint dry, tape the line, and then paint the line. - Poor clean-up. Crew asked to borrow our vacuum--they didn't have one, or if they did, why are they asking me for one? Dust left on surfaces and floor moldings in the room where ceiling was painted, and some paint spatter on desk in that room as well. Crew used the absolute thinnest, cheapest grade plastic drop cloths to cover furniture, from the ceiling sanding and painting and they didn't do the job very well. -many of the drywall repairs showed through, and did not appear to have been well-sanded. To Mr. Runkle's credit, he sent someone out to touch them up, and they do look better than they did before. -Unclear what paint we paid for. Accustomed to painters leaving whatever paint has been purchased for the job with us. Both Mr. Runkle and his crew purchased paint for the upstairs hallway, 1-2 gallons of which were unused and kept by Mr. Runkle's crew. Were left with only a very small amount of touch up paint for the upstairs hallway. Wrote Mr. Runkle to complain, and he maintains we were left all the paint that was leftover. This may be true, but between what I observed and the language barrier with the crew, I am left uncertain. Had to ask the crew for some touch-up paint for the ceiling since they used paint from their own supplies - no issues with this, but why did I have to ask? -We chose Patriot, despite his quote being the highest estimate of the three we received, based on the professionalism portrayed by Mr. Runkle, and his strong reviews on this site, so we expected a lot. His crew painted well, but did not deliver the value for the price paid. We would not choose Patriot again at the same price, relative to other quotes.

The team did a fantastic job! Very happy. Respectfully listen to my concerns about plants and that we are on well water and carefully acted accordingly. The men were professional and considerate. The painters came early and stayed late to get the job done in one day, which was great due the forecast of rain the next day. I had obtained four quotes total from painters and am sure I received the best value from Patriot Painting.

Workmanship was excellent and the job was completed in the estsnlished timeframe.

I called several painters from Angie's list. All of them showed up on time for their appointments. Scott gave me the best price for the job. He power washed my home. Scraping all needed areas. Removed and reinstalled my gutters after putting on two coats of paint. Its important that this was done using brushes and rollers. No spray painting was done. If everyone in the trades did the kind of work that these people did. We would have no use for Angie's list. However, such is not the case. So thanks to Angie's list. I found a painter that will be doing all of my painting from now on. His 20% discount for Angie's list users was an added plus.

They never called back. So, I can't really comment about their work.

Patriot Painting did a super job! The crew arrived on time. I wasn't quite prepared so they waited about one-half hour or so and then got right to work. Applied two coats of paint to the large bedrooms and painted the ceilings. I am very particular when it comes to painting and they were great painters - no drips, clean ceiling lines and good cleanup. They applied one coat of paint to the kitchen and had to return the next day for the second. I received a very fair price for the additional work requested, especially considering the ceilings were high on one end of the bedrooms. My father was a house painter by trade so I appreciate good painters. This crew provided a professional paint job -- I highly recommend Patriot Painting!
