Patriot Painting

Really nice job. The entire deck and base color for the barn were done in one day, and the white trim work on the barn was completed the next day. Although it's "only" a barn, the painter did a super job - it has never looked better. They are true to their word about not asking for payment until the job is completed to the customer's satisfaction. I have already recommended them to a friend.

He was not available for the time that I needed him. However, he left a message and told me he would help me compare prices.

Upon our initial consultation, we discussed with the company the potential that two coats would be necessary for coverage in the contracted areas. We also discussed that we would be using Benjamin Moore Aura paint for the project which anyone who has purchased this product knows is NOT cheap and can not be returned once mixed. We were instructed by the Patriot Painting exactly how much paint to buy for each room, which would be the correct amount, if in fact they used two coats in the areas as contracted. The paint was ready and waiting at the house when the painters got there as instructed. Patriot painting admittedly took longer than expected to complete the project. We didn't complain as their head painter Rudy seemed to be doing a good job on the project itself, was keeping the area as clean as possible and was addressing any issues or concerns as they arose. We have no complaints with Rudy and his other crew members performance. Upon completion of the project, again, later than expect, we were met with an abundance of left over paint (in one room's case an entire unopened gallon). As we have done extensive painting ourselves and have a working knowledge of how much paint would be necessary to complete the project as specified, we contacted the owner. Clearly as personally observed, and as evidenced by the amount of left over paint, the second coat, which we paid for in each area, was not completed. That was fine as the coverage was good. However, Patriot Painting would not adjust our bill insisting that they did in fact paint two coats which is blatantly false. When confronted with the fact that if this were actually the case, then they grossly over estimated the amount of costly paint to purchase, the owner actually stated that he knowingly told us to purchase those amounts because it takes too long to go purchase more paint if they run out. If taken at his word, and two coats were furnished which is FALSE, he still believes it is good business practice to advise over buying of supplies at YOUR expense. There's nothing like handing over a big fat check to a business who lies to you, turns around and calls you the liar while bolstering their position with an admission of advisement to overbuy to cost you money and save them time. We attempted to resolve this amicably, but the owner of the company just insulted us and said that we did not know what we were talking about, that the one room in particular (our biggest room) could be completed with the paint used. (CONTINUED) REPLY TO PROVIDER RESPONSE: Patriot Painting is correct - I do have it in my head that only one coat of paint was used BECAUSE I WAS PRESENT IN THE HOUSE WHEN THE PAINTING TOOK PLACE, I KNOW WHAT I OBSERVED AND ONLY HALF OF THE PAINT THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN NECESSARY TO DO THE JOB WAS ACTUALLY USED. My reasoning wasn't that the painters weren't there enough time to paint two coats. They were there longer than expected, certainly long enough to paint two coats. Patriot Painting - you actually had four painters there for most of the four days and you are correct all you painted was a hallway two bedrooms and a bathroom. I didn't state that you didn't have enough time with your resources. And sorry, I never called myself an expert. If you actually read my review it states that I have done extensive painting and have a working knowledge of how much paint would be necessary to paint the contracted rooms. Even someone without previous painting experience could ask their local hardware store or consult an online application to determine how much paint is generally needed to paint a room. I'm not claiming rocket science. My review is based on fact - what I myself, and my mother who was also present all four days, witnessed with our own eyes. It's not an "idea" in our heads - like your claims of concessions which I will discuss later. Yes, you underestimated the project and your profit was most likely small - which is probably exactly why you won't lower our bill despite not receiving what we contracted. Am I calling you a liar? Well you have certainly put words in my mouth, call that what you would like. And you also unequivocally charged us for a second coat of paint in addition to having us over purchase paint (actually we purchased the correct amount IF THERE HAD BEEN TWO COATS). Again, is that truthful? Is that integrity? But where I will certainly straight call you a liar is asserting this utter fabrication of some sort of small price concession. We paid the unadjusted rate thank you. I guess I will wait by my mailbox for that one. Please note your fourth paragraph - "I almost always give concessions to a customer if they are dissatisfied, but in this case we did what we said and she was happy with the work so it would have been wrong." Yet, you go on to state, "In the end I did give the customer a small price concession for the extra paint they bought." Kind of contradictory no? Oh, and I am glad you pointed out that it "would have been very easy to cheat them as they were sure it would take 2 coats." in reference to our ceiling in paragraph 5. Well, you did cheat us, you charged us for two coats for the rest of the project which I think amounted to a heck of a lot more than a second coat on one ceiling. If you make the mistake of using Patriot Painting I urge you to price out each aspect of the project and be extremely observant of what work is actually performed. You can see what kind of "concessions" are offered and how highly they hold their "integrity".

It took longer than I had anticipated, but they did a good job.

Punctual and professional. Work was completed within a few hours- very efficient- they even touched up a few other areas that needed some attention. We're very happy with the quality of work and price. Would definitely hire them again if we need painting again in the future!

The crew arrived on time as agreed the day after we accepted the estimate, and the boss showed up soon after to get them briefed and started on the job . Crew varied from 2 to 3 men throughout the day, but they got all the work done in one day. They did a good job on color match, used Sherwin-WIlliams paint. We were not asked to provide a deposit (that was good), and in fact we have been waiting for information we requested from the company on how we can pay by credit card. No invoice or payment info so far. Boss has not come by for a "walk-through" (thus the B on responsiveness/professionalism). We are pretty well satisfied with the job. Perhaps a bit more scraping of old paint would have been good in one or two spots, but generally it looks fine. We'll have to reserve judgement on the long-term quality until it has had time to weather. The crew worked carefully and neatly, and cleaned up very nicely when they finished. I would give them an A- if I could.

Went very well. They were prompt and courteous. Did a high quality job. If I had it to do over I would pay more attention to the paint used for the door color. I assumed since we had a gloss on it they would select a gloss to put on it and it is flat and I am not crazy about it. It is our fault as we didn't specify. In addition, they left a lot of paint scrapings on the ground. But I would use them again.

It was excellent. They came out right before thanksgiving after I purchased the big deal and I didn't spend anymore than the cost of the deal. The worker that they sent was excellent.

Scott was very responsive to my request for a quote and I signed a contract with him. I had many quotes but felt very comfortable with giving the business to him. His team came exactly when promised and were very professional, neat and did a great job. In fact, our neighbors have all commented on how nice the work was and will contact him in the future. One neighbor immediately signed up with Patriot. All in all, they did a great job and I highly recommend Patriot Painting!!

I set an appointment for a cost estimate at 9:00 am on August 2, 2013. When I set the appointment I provided Patriot with my cell phone number. I was there on time, but Patriot never arrived. They did not call me to let me know if they would be late or to cancel the appointment. I called both their cell phone number and office phone several times before I was able to get hold of someone. When I finally got hold of them at around 9:45, I got an apology for a "crazy day". They wanted to reschedule, but this is too frustrating for me to want to reschedule, especially as I would not want to chance that this also happens when work is actually performed.

The team did a great job – the trim looks great! We were especially pleased with Patriot Painting showing up on time to provide an estimate and on the day scheduled to begin the job; the team’s persistence both with the PVC wood replacement, caulking and painting, in spite of rain showers that occurred most of the afternoons during the job period; and above all in getting the job completed within the time frame we had set without compromising the quality of the work.

Patriot Painting did excellent work. They were punctual, professional, and very respectful of my home. The paint job in my basement is fantastic! And when they left, it was immaculate.

The painters were on time, laid plastic down wherever they walked, covered all the furniture first, asked questions about anything they were unsure of. The cost paid was for one room but because of the square feet involved they were able to do a stairwell and small other room as well. We were very pleased.

Scott did a great job painting the inside of my townhouse, including all of the bedrooms that had very dark colors and required extra work. He did not try to oversell painting that was not needed. He brought his people back to do some touch ups that I requested. I also hired his crew to do some maintenance projects around the outside of the house (removing a satellite dish, doing some painting on the roof, fixing a downspout). They were always professional and Scott was always available for consultations about different things. His crew had painted the outside of my townhouse about 6 months prior, and I was also very satisfied with that work and it was not very expensive.

I had two other quotes from other companies. They were almost double. Patriot did a fantastic job, not a drop of paint on a single window or door. I would use them again in a heartbeat.

Scott gave me a very competitive quote and gave me tentative start date of approximately 2 - 3 weeks. The work actually commenced about 4 weeks from the day I received the quote. A large crew arrived in the morning and immediately went to work moving furniture, prepping the walls and covering the floors. They were very courteous and careful to cover all of my floors and furniture. I was required to move the small breakables before they arrived. They did all of the moving of heavy furniture. It seems like I had cracks in the drywall in every room and a very large drywall repair over the stairwell. They completed all of the work in just over 2 days. These guys were true professionals and did a fantastic job. The house looks like new again. All the furniture was moved back into place when they finished. There wasn't a stray blob of paint anywhere. It was a pleasure to work with such a skilled group of true professionals. I will be calling on them again when it's time to paint the outside of my house.

For initial contact with Scott, received professional and responsive service. Got an estimate of the costs of the work within a few days and despite days of rainy weather, his crew got the work done within a couple of weeks. The 4-man crew was polite, and professional. They worked hard and were able to complete the work in a day. The work was done expertly. The house looks great.

Patriot Painting was very prompt at getting back to us after we had requested an estimate to have our house power-washed and painted. Already we were impressed! First they did a very thorough job of power-washing. The next day a large crew showed up and began scraping and replacing all the rotten trim. We have a fairly large house, but because the crew was so large and efficient, they were finished in a day. We were so impressed with the quality of workmanship and professionalism. We have already decided to have them out again next spring to power-wash the siding again. And we will definitely use them again for painting. We would not hesitate to recommend Patriot Painting to anyone.

I used them through a big deal on Angie's List. My experience with them was fine. I think that at the end of the day, they were a bit expensive. Their professionalism and quality of work was good; I had no complaints there. When I had him come back with a second quote to do the rest of the house, he didn’t do it properly. He just gave me back the original quote. I had to email him back a couple of times and explain it to him that he didn’t send me the right thing. I will look for somebody else in the future, because they are just too expensive. I would not use them again in the future.

Scott Runkle was responsive and flexible throughout this series of jobs. When he came by for the estimate, he took time to review everything with me thoroughly and to answer all of my questions. Scott is very matter-of-fact and down-to-earth. He did not try to sell me on anything, but instead gave me straight and accurate information and described the trade-offs of each choice I made. Everything he told me corresponded to the information I later learned on the Internet and through friends. I very quickly gained confidence in his honesty and competence. We had specific constraints about when to do the work and about contacting my wife and me in advance before coming to the house. Scott and his crew respected all of our requests without hesitation. Scott sent me a crew headed by Wilfredo, who is an extremely diligent and skilled worker. Wifredo is very polite and easy to work with, and his knowledge of English made it easy to communicate with him as well. What really impressed me, however, is the exceptional quality of the work. Initially, I told Scott that I would engage his company to repair and repaint the front porch railings and columns and to refinish the deck. I said that we would then decide on whether to power wash the house. I was so impressed by the final results with the porch and deck, that I did not hesitate to engage Patriot Painting to do the house power wash, even though I had received lower bids from other companies. All in all, we are very satisfied with our experience, and I intend to use Patriot Painting in the future whenever I have a job that falls in their domain.

I had a great experience with Patriot Painting. I purchased an Angie's List deal for one painter for $250. Scott was very responsive in scheduling the service and following up after the job was done. Our bedroom looks fantastic. I would definitely hire Patriot Painting again.

Called Scott after receiving recommendation from a neighbor who had used Patriot Painting several times. Scott promptly returned my call to schedule a time to give me an estimate. He arrived when we agreed and provided a written estimate later that day. Scott worked with me on scheduling the best time for me to perform the work. Scott's employee arrived at the stated time, was courteous, professional and completed the job on time (same day). I had to leave the house and when I came back the job was done, everything was clean and in its place. I could not tell where the drywall repair areas were and the painting was perfect. I will definitely use Patriot Painting again.

Fantastic. Workmanship was good, the guys were professional. Place was a mess from the wallpaper, but they cleaned up afterwards. The price was lower than the rest of the bids. Communications between Scott and I were challenging at times with miscommunication on items we had asked to be separated out and having to send the paint color choices to him twice. However, he was responsive overall and we were pleased with how much great work they did.
