The serviceman arrived just before 7PM, as he said he would. He went right to the unit, performed a few tests, and diagnosed the problem as a faulty capacitor (and a needed cleaning). He had the part on his SUV, plugged it in, and it started right up, blowing hot air from the house so the cool air was blowing inside. That took all of about 15 minutes. He was knowledgeable, and polite. He did not chastise me for the unclean unit; rather he just went about explaining how the cleaning would make this 14 year old unit be much more efficient for as long as it might last. I asked for information on a new unit for the time I might be looking in that direction. He went to a book in his SUV and produced a unit description, all inclusive and quoted the price. They have a different approach to customer service, to accommodate employees AND customers. I was happily surprised by how easy this whole process had been. Kind of wished I had called sooner, or at least have had it serviced every 6 months. In any case, I am so very satisfied with the results. Glad I called them up. I will do so again, but, hopefully, not right away!
We received word at around 9:30 that a technician was on his way, and by 10:00, we had two technicians busily diagnosing our furnace. They fixed some loose wiring and cleaned the dirty flame sensor, and voila, by 11:00, we had heat! They were polite, professional, and knowledgeable. We appreciate the prompt and effective response!
"We did install a system in 2010, and we're very sorry to read you had such a negative experience. I do see our HVAC department manager made several visits for the project, and that is certainly not typical of our installations. The salesman is no longer with Parrish, but we certainly stand behind our work. I see we performed maintenance in 2011, but we would be happy to offer you a free air conditioning maintenance this spring to make sure your system is completely operational and ready for the summer. We've noted your service record, so all you need to do to take advantage of the offer is call. Again, we're sorry your experience with Parrish was anything less than 100% satisfactory."
"Thank you so much for taking the time to give us a review. We read them all, and they help us provide the best service possible. We're here 24x7 for all your residential heating, cooling, plumbing, and electrical needs. Thanks!"
"Thank you! We know Angie's List members depend on quality reviews like yours, so we appreciate you taking the time to describe your experience. Please keep us in mind for your future heating, cooling, plumbing, and electrical work. Thanks again."
"Thanks, [Member Name Removed]. Yes, we think our plumbers are pretty awesome - hard working guys who definitely work under some of the most difficult of circumstances. We appreciate you taking them time to report on Angie's List and give them kudos. Thanks again."
We have an annual service plan with them for both HVAC and plumbing. After calling several providers at the top of the search list who weren't available right away or hadn't called back (from Saturday) I decided to call Parrish and see if they did gas line repair. Next time I'll just call them first.
"Thank you, [member name removed], for taking the time to offer kind words. We very much appreciate your business and look forward to serving you again in the future."
"[member name removed], thank you for your frank feedback - we welcome every bit. I would like to clarify, though, how we develop our pricing and offer our services. For consistency and fairness, we offer up-front, flat rate pricing from a pre-printed price book for standard repairs and installations. There are no surprises - every service is explained up front and agreed upon before work ever begins. We offer this type of service and pricing because we believe it is exactly the opposite of a "shell game." For each type of repair, we do offer everything from a minimal "stop the bleeding" type of fix to a Platinum level repair. The least expensive repairs use the lowest (yet still contractor) grade parts (i.e., these are not parts you'll find at your typical home improvement store), a minimal warranty, and a repair isolated to the minimum component level. The Platinum level repairs offer comprehensive repairs for the system, the highest grade parts, and the longest warranty. They offer the highest peace of mind and can often be the best value, too. This approach to pricing offers homeowners the ability to choose minimizing their expenses, maximizing their peace of mind, or something in between. The pricing is flat rate; that means our clients pay the same price whether we take 5 minutes or 5 weeks to do the work. We value our clients' time, and flat rate pricing ensures technicians are not incented to take any longer than is necessary to perform a proper repair. No, we are not the cheapest plumbers (or electricians, or heating and air conditioning technicians) in town, nor do we strive to be - we want to be the BEST! We do, however, ensure our prices are competitive. We do this by regularly monitoring comparable companies' advertisements, calling competitors for prices, and soliciting invoices from those who have decided to use our competitors. We ensure our prices are in line with those of comparable companies (i.e., companies that are properly licensed, adequately insured, technically proficient, well-stocked, legally compliant, willing and able to offer financing, etc.) To stay on top, we offer the highest levels of service - everything from being open 7 days a week to extensive training for our technicians to 0% interest financing - in order to attract and retain clients. We hope you are satisfied with the level of service you chose and will reconsider using Parrish Services in the future. Thank you for your business and for your feedback."
"Thank you, [member name removed], for sharing your experience. It's been a very quiet summer, but we'll be out there in the fall to check on things again. Thanks!"
"Whew! That was close... We're happy you let us know something was wrong and we were able to take care of the problem. A lot of things can go wrong in our business, and we're certainly far from perfect. But we pride ourselves on making things right, and we're happy we were able to get things worked out for your service. We appreciate you taking the time to let us know and to repost when we stepped up. Thanks!!!"
