Parrish Services installed a new AC for us in May of 2022. The night of installation, it leaked through our attic, into our master bedroom and hallway, causing major damage. Parrish Services gave us the runaround on repair of the home for over a month, and reneged on their promise to make things right for us, even after admitting that the job that was done was terrible and "embarrassing." Now they won't return phone calls or emails. Stay away from this company.

I originally contracted with Parrish in February 2021 to investigate why were were not getting much heat from the zone of our two-zone geothermal HVAC that covers the top two floors of our town home. The tech, Joe, informed me that there was air in the line and the the auxiliary heat had not been wired appropriately when the system was installed in 2015. Joe returned when we were away (a neighbor kindly let him into our home) to determine what parts he would need to purge the system of air. At that time, he closed the valve that provides heated or cooled water (as the case may be) to the second floor air handler but never advised me of this. When we returned to the house a month or so later, the weather had turned warmer, and I turned on the AC. I then went to the basement for an unrelated reason and heard the water circulation pump for the upstairs air handler making and awful sound. It was also scalding hot. I immediately saw that the valve had been turned off (by Joe) and promptly turned off this zone. By this point, however, the pump was ruined. Parrish was good enough to replace the pump gratis, but Joe installed it improperly such that it leaked. He returned a few days later to reinstall it, but it continued to leak. Upon returning a 3rd time, he informed me that the fittings onto which the pump is bolted were no longer able to create a good seal and that the pump would continue to leak unless the manifold/plumbing was all replaced. The quote was $4800! I asked the owner, Alan Givens, to consider discounting that proposal a bit, given that his employee was in part responsible for having to replace the pump in the first place. No response. I called a few times and followed up with emails and was told that the matter was in the owner’s hands and that customers were not permitted to speak directly to him. Finally, after inquiring yet again, I was told this morning that (1) the owner would not discount the $4800 proposal and (2) Parrish no longer wanted to work on the job. I have no air conditioning on the top two floors of my town home and have been left completely high and dry by this extraordinarily unprofessional company. When I learned that Givens was voted HVAC executive of the year recently, I was floored. His unprofessionalism in this matter is second to none, and I would strongly recommend never using this company for anything.

Air condition kept shutting off for second year in row. They fixed last year and filled up with freon, and patched leak and it happened again this year and charged me for the same stuff they did last year. The unit is not old its 2013 and get all its regular up keep down and filters changed.

When they replaced the HVAC system, they discovered that the vent pipes leading to the outside were not to code, so they had to remove and replace all the vent pipes. I had two workers and the president of the company, Mr. Parrish, in my garage until 2am finishing the job. It would up being a bit mess (holes in the garage ceiling) and more expensive than originally anticipated -- but they was not Parrish's fault. They had to do the work to get the system up to code. I did appreciate them making sure the job was done right. I still use them for my semi-annual HVAC check-up and maintenance.

The pressure regulator, following installation, required several return visits to identify an installation problem. This was resolved by the senior technician after several months of visits.

I explained when I called what I needed done and could not get a price. Was told they had to look at the fireplace and the estimate would cost $106. I thought that was ridiculous but need it done so went ahead. The guy just came and wanted $1325.00 to install a part that I had. OUTRAGEOUS! They knew what I needed and could have given me a price over the phone but set me up to waste my day waiting for them and then have a price 5 to 7 times what I have been quoted by other contractors. SERIOUSLY? I am a Realtor and use a lot of contractors and was anxious to try Parrish. What a huge mistake! I have never left a negative review for anyone but my hands are shaking I am so angry over this.

We are on the maintenance plan where they come twice a year. The particular worker who came out was great. Their prices have gotten really expensive.

He made everything sound worst than what it really was. He claimed it will be a very expensive repair. He also claimed that my water heater is a disaster and need replaced, he claimed that my sump pump is installed incorrectly which was not that case. He claimed that my water is going to explode because of the gas leak. I had someone look at it and it's fine. However, they found that he left some wires lose and that's all was wrong with it.

They came out but not before we had to call the owner of the company twice (who has been very ill for quite some time) after the owner's wife was rude, very unpleasant, told me that she didn't want our business, that she had 50,000 customers, etc., and hung up! Basically, they didn't want to take responsibility for the damage or the defective work they had performed less than a year earlier. The technician came w/a helper, lifted the unit, and found that the pan had not been level, causing it to spill out of the back, therefore not setting off the sensor in the pan which would have shut down the unit and have stopped the extensive water damage to the floor below. He replaced the pan, said the owner, Mr. Givens, agreed to do it w/o any charges because it was under warranty. However, I was forced to give a deposit on my Visa before they would even come out to perform the work. The deposit of $235 was supposed to be refunded per the tech and noted on the invoice. The total job was to cost approx. $1500, if not under warranty. To date, Parrish will not return phone calls, e-mails, and basically blocked our phone number so no calls from our home or cell phone will go through to Parrish. Basically, they don't want to acknowledge the extensive damage caused by their defective workmanship in installing the pan last August, and it appears they want to keep the $235 deposit which we have under dispute w/Visa. Let me be clear, the technician, Brian, was professional, appeared to be very knowledgeable, and pleasant to work with. Also, Mr. Givens had always been professional in working with us, but since he is incapacitated and not available much of the time, it appears his wife is running the show, more or less, and making some very poor decisions, and knows nil about "customer service" or professionalism.

They do a good job. I don’t have to call about stuff like this, they will usually find weak things before it happens. I’ve always known that they are very professional. They seem to be honest about what needs to be done. They don’t try to make a bigger deal out of it than it really is.

As for price rating honestly, I don’t know, my gut is a “B”, but I don’t know that they are not unreasonable. I have a contract with them. The little piece that they gave me seems like a lot of money, but it was a holiday. Maybe that’s not so bad after all. They do what they’re supposed to do and they don’t try to up sell me with all of a bunch of junk. They tell me up, but they don’t try to do the up-sell stuff. They were working with me all day because I had it scheduled appointments and their schedule was already set of course, but they figured out a way to get together. They were early.

What stand out to me is they are always punctual. They do the job right the first time. They come out as quickly as they can. They take really good care of their regular customers. I think they are on the little high end on price.

I hope we just had a bad tech and others have good experiences with the company. We had a tech come out to give us a second opinion when we needed a new pressure relief valve installed. He was nice and was prompt. But his estimate was over double another company. In addition, as soon as he saw the utility room, he said we needed a new hot water heater- which he was not even there to address. We questioned it and asked for an estimate without the HWH. No idea why he would have said that- the HWH is less than 7 years old and still under warrantee. The company we decided to go with thought it was ridiculous and classic for a place working on commission. The tech added that his price was good for 24 hours and then would go up- it was all way too sketch and is not anyone I would ever have work on my house.

They are very punctual, they are very reliable, they come when they say they will come, the price is the only thing.

They could price it better because I was a customer.

The experience was a good experience, it was pricey. Had some minor issues, they gave me a one year warranty then they came and checked the system again. I did use the service again, one year after.
