Mr. Handyman of Northern Virginia - Arlington to Haymarket

I had 2 shingles and ridge caps blow off my roof during a storm. They charged me double of what they said they would because it took one guy to hold the ladder and the other to do the work. I wasn't present when the work was done. I left all material (shingles & hip & ridge cap shingles) to do the repair, and they only replaced the hip & ridge cap shingles. I called and told them about the other 2 shingle tabs, and they insisted that there were no shingles that needed replacement even though you can see the 2 areas from the ground in the 2nd row above the bottom skylight in the photo. They never came back to finish the work; I paid them $500 in advance for them to do the work (1/2 through Angie's, and the other over the phone to do the work); and now 1 year later after and a rainy spring, I have a leak in my ceiling where I needed 1 new shingle tab! What a scam.

Unknown final cost the way they perform work

This was a tricky job in that a pipe to carry the new electrical wiring had to be run along the whole length of an interior garage wall, then drop down into the basement to the location where the new power outlet needed to be installed. Mike was our technician, who also performed on a previous outside job for us. Mike performed every aspect of this new project to our satisfaction. In addition to the electrical work, which was the main feat, he helpfully moved items that were along the garage wall that he needed access to, repaired the drywall where he needed to cut into, and even added extra anchors to the wall where the cabinet was relocated to as only one stud was present on that short wall. As an added touch he sprayed a non-slip surface onto the step in the garage he identified as unsafe in its natural state. Mike is a fabulous asset to Mr Handyman. We wouldn't hesitate to hire them again.

Technician was courteous and quick.

Returned next day (29 Nov) at my request, to address additional water leaks under kitchen sink. Beroted 3 hours, installed new replacement parts & very professional & courteous in resolving the water leak! Great tech!

Chris was on time, did work that was required in timely manner. Explained all that he did thoroughly.

It's the local handyman service. I think it's owned by Joe Mcabe. They'll come to the house for a set amount of money for four hours. They're really top-notch. I will absolutely use them again. In fact, I get a Christmas card from Joe Mcabe, the lady that owns the place. In fact, she came while the handyman guy was there to work, she came to the house and it's always good when the managers and leaders show up, you can guarantee that work's going to be done right. Not only that but it shows that the management cares about what's going on with both the customer and employee.

The caulk was the wrong color, they got the caulk all over,there was not a smooth beading. It was not a professional job at all.

The work was very well done. Though it was pricey, I feel they did excellent work and would likely use them again in the future.

It was $700 with labor and parts. They are very responsive; they communicate very frequently. I remember the gentleman on the first visit had the potential to be running late. He had actually contacted me several times to let me know his status. He actually ended up towards the end of the time window, but he was within the time window that they had quoted. So, he wasn’t even late. Also, he was very free with information. So, I asked him a few questions about what was going on with things, and he was very knowledgeable and very generous with his expertise. I have hired Mr. Handyman three times now.

It went fine, although the tech was an hour late, and was pretty pricey.

It was great. Leon arrived right on time, was professional, and very fast. Finished the job in 1 hr, 45 minutes and that includes a trip to Home Depot for supplies.

Tony quickly installed all of the smart home appliances and repaired drywall around Nest systems (smaller than most smoke detectors) leaving a small gap from the old outdated systems. Painted ceiling areas that were patched to match the surrounding area. The video door bell replaced the standard door bell that had poor wiring and needed to be connected at the edge of the brick. Tony had completed these installs before and provided a number of helpful tips including a few tests to gauge the correct height for the install. All of the light installs, carpentry/drywall work, and painting were completed without any issues. I appreciate the way this company always cleans the area after repairs have been completed. I have been a regular customer for years and they never fail to meet our expectations. Our neighbors have echoed the similar experiences too.

Very well. Ronnie was very efficient and got everything on my list done in two hours. He installed 3 light fixtures, repaired an outdoor post lamp and put together a storage tent and went to home depot. Amazing.

First of all, Michelle, who sets up the work, was a pleasure to work with. She was understanding, responsive, and a delight to talk to. The tech, Matt, was knowledgeable, hardworking, and polite. He told me that if I wasn't satisfied then he wasn't satisfied. I liked his attitude, professionalism and attention to detail. I did "ding" them on the price because we started off with the wrong size boards and had to buy more lumber than we needed. But Matt did the right thing and went out of his way to make it right and he did. I will definitely use these guys again and highly recommend them.

Excellent. Technician eon) identified faulty electrical work from electrician which I was able to resolve. Technician was consummate professional.

Tech showed up on time, appeared professional. Installed the door that I provided in about 50 minutes. Did a very competent job. Charged me at the rate of $300 an hour. My surgeon charges less. Even considering driving time, he lives about 4 miles from here and I was his first appointment. I feel like an idiot for hiring these thieves.
