Builder subcontracted Morales Masonry Inc to install a stamped concrete patio in the back of my house. The patio turned out really bad as Morales Masonry installed it during the rain (they admitted it after the fact) and never came back to fix until we complained to builder as it was still under warranty. Morales Masonry came back after 18 month and re-stamped the patio, and let us choose the color to stain it with. However, they used different supplier than the color palette they gave us to choose from. Color was completely different and they have refused to correct it. Also, workers dumped the concrete leftovers on the side of the driveway, and in the bushes on my property, and refused to clean up - owner promised on the phone to come back and remove the concrete debris. Overall, i am rating them with D as they actually re-stamped (badly) the concrete and stained it, but because they refused to correct the color and clean up the mess i can't recommend this company.

Couldn't believe what I saw. Thought the concrete was waiting to be repaired/replaced but apparantly it was completed. Worst job I have ever seen and the contractor isn't willing to fix it. He thinks its ok. Don't know how this company stays in business. I wouldn't recommend this company to my worst enemy. BEWARE

The french drain was not completed per the contract specifications. The completed stoop has inspection violations. The chimney was inspected post the company's work and is acceptable. Private and county inspectors found multiple issues related to the company's work. The company was reported to the Virginia Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation due to project deficiencies. It is recommended that you review this company via the VA DPOR for past violations, the BBB reviews, and Angies List reviews before hiring.

Morales was hired to build a french drain, concrete stoop, and brick the concrete stoop. He did not construct the french drain according to the perimeters of the contract agreement. He advised that the french drain was finished. He refused to address the issue without additional payment, and was thus terminated. Two independent home inspection companies inspected all of his projects at the property. The inspections revealed functional and safety issues related to his work. Items of concern included the french drain installation, the concrete stoop installation, and the stoop rail installation. In addition, Morales completed unauthorized brick work on the north side of the residence. Per the inspection results and his refusal to complete the french drain according to contract, Morales Masonry Inc. was reported to the Department of Cable and Consumer Services, Consumer Affairs Branch, County of Fairfax, VA, the Virginia State Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation, and the Better Business Bureau. Additional items to note regarding Morales Masonry Inc: Morales attempted to bill me in the amount of $475 for a new rail. Rust and weld marks located throughout the rail provided evidence that it is not new. In addition, welding on the hand rail indicates that the rail is not new. Morales sent me a bill charging me for the “fabrication & installation” of the rail by the subject rail company. The subject rail company advised that they did not install a rail at the property. Morales utilized the Better Business Bureau (BBB) logo on their marketing yard sign that they posted at the property. A review of Morales Masonry Inc. on BBB website indicated that they are not accredited with the BBB.

Perfectly. All work was done on time and turned out exactly, actually even better than expected. Worked started on the date promised and was a great experience. Highly recommend!!!

See above. A terrible experience from an irresponsible company.

On the first day they had scheduled to work, they didn't show up. They called later in the day and rescheduled. They said they were very busy because of the Angie's list deal. After the first visit, the initial estimate of $149 (in the Angie's list deal) became $900. I was not home when the work was being done, but my husband was. He said they were there for a lot longer than they thought they would be. When I saw the work, I thought it was sloppy and just looked bad in general, especially the "caulk" on the front walkway (it might not actually be caulk, but it looks like it). I think the job took longer than they anticipated because they removed some of the bricks completely and had to reset new ones. The walkway is still very uneven and there are still broken bricks. The mortar is overflowed onto the bricks in many places. It is very sloppy work. I left a message for the owner complaining about the poor quality of work on Angie's list messages (where we had been communicating) on November 25, but he has not gotten back to me yet. I have not tried to call them.

I purchased the service, Angie's list deal, the ad indicated that Morales and Mansonry would contact me within 3 business days, they didn't. So I'm assuming they are not interested in honoring the deal as advertised.

I want a refund for the Tuckpointing Service I purchased below. I scheduled an appointment with the contractor for yesterday afternoon, took the day off work to be there and Morales Masonry was a No-Show. Morales Masonry is extremely professional. Francisco is extremely knowledgable and professional in his approach to working with the customer. I would highly recommend his company for any masonry job. His teams were always on time and hard working. Francisco went above and beyond his responsibility in replacing a slate piece of my roof as hurricane sandy approached the dc metro area. I would definitely use them again in the future

Morales Masonry was recommended to us by the company that replaced our siding. Morales is one of their regular sub-contractors for masonry work (and more). Francisco (owner) came over the day after I called him, and I had his estimate in 2 days. We scheduled right away, and in 2 weeks, everything was 100% complete. The access to the back of our house is difficult, so our neighbors let us use the pathway along their house. Francisco was careful to disturb the least possible and -- considering that there were well over 100 wheel barrow trips with materials coming and going along that pathway -- the crew cleaned the path so it looked better than when they started the job. They cleaned the driveway and street every day, too. His crew consists of different people for different skill sets. Francisco explained everything during the entire process, and planned out the job very well. He was in telephone communication with me every day. There were no surprises. He is very customer and detailed-oriented. He made a number of helpful suggestions about color, pattern, and layout, all of which were right on target. The price was very competitive. The workmanship was great, and we love our new patio. Highly recommended.

They were very friendly. They came out every day, weather permitting. They kept us informed all along the way. We had to have some additional work done after it was inspected after they tore it down and they did that. The pricing appears to be reasonable.
