I called to speak with the store manager and asked about a project I have coming up to remodel four bathrooms and basement. I was interested in working with one individual as my contact person to order all my materials. I was told that I could not and that I had to go through Pro Services who would have me work with several different people. I prefer to work with one person in case I need to call back I only want to have to deal with one individual. I also asked about purchasing an entry door and was told I would be charged $35 for an estimate. However, I would have to use Lowes for the install or lose the $35. I have never been in a situation where I had to pay for an estimate. Lowes is not willing to waive the $35 when they are making close to $15,000 on materials alone. Based on the volume of materials I was purchasing Home Depot was willing to waive the installation fee, so Lowes lost out on a big sale.

The water heater is small and it cost me $600. We were busy getting it installed when the first company we dealt with called us and told us that they could give us a new water heater because we were covered under warranty. By that time, we needed the water heater and so, we told them we are going with another company. Overall, we were very happy with Lowe’s. It saved us $1100. They did a very good job. They were very professional and they called back as well. They came when they were supposed to come and they came fairly rapidly. They scheduled it in as soon as they could which was less than 24 hours after we made the payment. They wanted $600 upfront. There was also a little bit of a language barrier. I think the guy who came out was asking where the drain pan was in the utility room. So, Lowe’s called to ask for a feedback and we told them that there was no way to drain the water. We told them there was no hose to drain. So, they did come back and installed it immediately. They corrected the problem immediately. I don’t know anything about water heaters and drainage. He asked me to check the work. He also asked me where the drain was so he could drain the water from the old water heater and I thought I communicated to him. It was kind of hidden underneath our furnace a little bit. He instead extended a hose out and drained it out, which was fine.
Description of Work: We went to Lowe’s to buy a water heater. Then a guy came out, took out the old water heater and drained it. He then installed a new water heater and also installed a drain pan. However, he didn’t install a hose that allows the liquid in that drain pan to go to the drain.
