"Nightmare" is the only word that describes the situation and outcome. Houtz sent a buddy (I thought an employee) instead of doing it himself. (Later turned out the man had an expired license.) He left the outdoor wiring laying on the ground instead of doing the job to code: encasing it and also burying it eighteen inches below ground as appropriate (as agreed in estimate). There wasn't even any slack which would have allowed the line to be buried. (He couldn't install the fan because the one I ordered did not come in and having him ever return to my house was not acceptable to me.) I wrote to Houtz and sent pictures of the job. That resulted in a call from the installer telling me, "Charlie said you want wire added to the outside to give more slack." I told him I wanted the job done to code by a licensed electrician. Never got satisfaction from Houtz. To file a complaint with the county I had to leave the job as it was until resolution. Instead I got it done right and moved on.
