I misunderstood about the sealer we had done after the resurfacing. It is optional.

I made an appointment for an estimate and Jerry arrived a few minutes early. Jerry listened to what I had to say and didn't try to upsell any services. Jerry was polite and professional and I knew he had my best interest at heart when he noticed my new home didn't have a deck and he asked if I was going to have one built. He suggested I have that work completed first so the heavy trucks hauling material for the deck wouldn't damage the new driveway. This was to Jerry's detriment since I ended up going with a different asphalt company that was affiliated with a deck company and I got a package deal from them.

From start to finish, I could not be happier. The estimate was timely and detailed. The workmen professional and courteous, and the workmanship top notch. The crew works together like a well oiled machine. Our driveway looks fantastic. Amazed at how quickly they completed the project. They matched the heights of my new walkways and kept the whole area neat and clean. A truly top notch company!

The crew was fast and very neat. The new driveway has a nice slope to handle drainage, and the edges are very clean. We're quite pleased with the job.

We originally picked another company to perform the job mainly because we partnered with neighbors to get a group discount. They selected the other company. Both H&H and the other company gave us bids that were very close and competitive. Long story short, the other company forgot to schedule the job with me (despite me calling them) and failed to reschedule within an acceptable timeframe. I called H&H and they not only honored their original quote (which assumed the group discount), but they scheduled my driveway within a week of my call. Unfortunately, due to the hurricane/storm, they had to reschedule but they completed my driveway within 2 weeks. Sarah was super friendly, professional and always followed up via phone and/or email to ensure that I received her messages. Based on this, I would rate H&H's customer attention and communication as top notch. (The other company couldn't compete when it comes to communication and customer satisfaction. They promised to call but instead I had to call and remind them which was very frustrating.) My husband was the one who met the team and watched them work. He was very impressed. They were punctual (called within 30 minutes before they arrived), professional and delivered quality work. When I came home, I was also very pleased. Our new driveway looks beautiful for a driveway. We really appreciated working with the H&H team - Sarah, Jerry and Catherine.

We built our house a year ago and the builder left us with a gravel driveway on a hill that was washing away. Jerry was easy and great to work with as well as patient. We took about 6 months to finally decide to pave the driveway rather than leave it gravel. Our hold up was completing all our hardscape and landscaping. We decided once everything was done paving would really make everything pop out and give our new home that curb appeal we were looking for, that and stop our driveway from washing down the hill. Sarah in the office did a great job keeping me informed of the crews status and arrival time. When Jeff and his crew arrived they marked out everything for me to see so I could get a real visualization sense of what it would look like.. They kept me informed of everything during the process. They did an amazing job grading and sloping the driveway on a hill so water would run away from the house and exactly where we needed the water to go. The crew went above and beyond to do the job right and make sure we got exactly what we needed for what I considered a challenging driveway. Thank you! We live in a cluster of 4 houses on a long pipestem. We had the pipestem repaved and several driveways sealed. H&H did a great job. They arrived on time, did the work, and cleaned up after themselves. Several of our neighbors recommended H&H and their recommendations were well-founded. I would definitely recommend H&H for driveway paving/sealing and will use them in the future.

Service was great from bid to completion. Justin provided a comprehensive bid for resurfacing and for complete tearout and repaving and included references, business licence and insurance information at the time of bid. The crew showed up on time and completed the service promptly and expertly. There was an issue with a large crack and gap that became a large dip by spring which H&H fixed before sealing the driveway. I highly recommend them.

Only one problem was encountered. After the driveway was replaced, the street was marked with oil, soil, and tire and wheel marks of the heavy equipment used to complete the work. I sent photos to the receptionist, and the estimator came out to look at the private street, in front of my home which had just been paved the year before. A two-person crew came to my home the same day and scrubbed the street with Palmolive Ultra, and the street now looks much better. The entire staff including the estimator, receptionist, and the work crews are conscientious and professional in attitude.

Paving day finally arrived and the crew showed up right now time and immediately started working. They moved quickly, were respectful of the plants in my flower beds, and were patient with any questions I had. Overall, my experience with H&H Paving was great and I would definitely use them again.

I emailed request for quote over weekend, received call on Monday. They came by that week and inspected driveway while I was at work; and sent me a detailed quote package that included their license/insurance information, and a listing of work done in my area for the last 10 years or so; of which there were dozens. This was very helpful in my decision process, as I was able to view examples of their work over a long period by driving through my neighborhood. They all looked great after many years, and I was able to talk to a neighbor who had his done in the last year and he was very pleased with the work, and he paid about the same for a slightly smaller driveway, with similar work being done. I was able to discuss the planned work with the owner, and subsequently scheduled the work within a week of my authorization to proceed. The crew came mid-morning as expected; and completed the effort before 5pm. They had a crew of 5+, and had jackhammers, steamrollers, dump trucks, bobcat, and asphalt laying machine; quite an array of equipment. In the end, I was very pleased with the results; based on the amount of new asphalt I had applied, it is curing for a week before I use it; so I haven't actually driven on the new driveway yet. They very nicely transitioned to the drive, brick walkway and cement transition to street. They didn't tear up the lawn or landscaping and left the job site in good shape. I received 3 quotes, the other two wanted to remove the entire old driveway; which H&H cautioned against since the ground in our area could be tricky to work with at times based on their experience in the neighborhood. I don't know if that was valid advice or not; but their option seems to be working for the one neighbor that I talked to who had the same semi-removal process done. And their option to only remove the top layer was $700-$1000 cheaper. And if they did the same for others, the 2006 examples were holding up well too. My only complaint thus far is the contract; the fine print is was somewhat obnoxious in their limitations of liability provisions. And while I know that regardless of the contract terms, you cant get legal relief for your negligence as a contractor (which is what it basically says). It was so over the top that I almost didn't go with them on that basis; but I looked at my other quotes and they had almost exactly the same terms. So, I felt I had no recourse and relied on the recommendations and hoped for the best. Thus far no complaints on the workmanship.

Well, I wasn't there -- but when I got off work & saw it the driveway looked gorgeous. The driveway is long and on a hill, so of course I am going to be very interested in how the sealing changes the 'slipperiness' of the asphalt when winter hits - better or worse? I don't know how long it took or whatever, but I can tell you it looks great and they tell me it will help the paving job to last longer. They also tell me it should be done 'every two to three years' -- they seem to be really interested in doing a good job and the price was, once again, not the cheapest -- but I feel comfortable with the quality, which is where the value is (hey Angie's List - Price & Value are not the same!). My understanding of 'the cheapest' when it comes to sealing especially is that basically you can get watered-down black paint that looks great for a few weeks but does nothing to protect the asphalt so definitely you get what you pay for. They told me they used Equinox Gilsonite which is an oilbased sealer that is supposed to last longer. I would use this company again and have recommended them to friends.

Leading up to the purchase there was some confusion (on my part, I suppose) of just how the drive was to be installed. My desire was to excavate the old driveway material before laying down the new asphalt to avoid a 6" dropoff on each side of the drive. While that did not occur at the time of installation, I can live with it. Curbs were installed in front of my garage doors to keep water from entering the garage. The crew did quality work installing the drive and curbing in fall of 2014. I was frustrated that the owner, his son or anyone from the office came by to check the work or call me to assess my take on the job. Only after sending an email to express that frustration, obtain a paid receipt and promised care and maintenance book was there any follow up. I received a proposal to seal coat the driveway a few months back. I called to advise of degrading curbs at the garage and cracks appearing at the roadway. I did receive a call from owner Jerry who informed me of the planned repairs prior to laying down the seal coat. I agreed to sealing the drive which occurred around the end of June 2015. These efforts redeemed my faith in this "family owned" company. As for how the drive is holding up... So far, so good.

Well. No issues. They were careful, complete, and went out of their way to ask questions and seek my approval.

Of the many contractors we have used over many years, H&H ranks as the best (or tied with one other). It starts with the young professional who provides an evaluation of what is required and makes recommendations. He leaves you with a brochure on the company and a list of other places where they have worked. Then a surprise: H&H has a professional office staff which is always there, always, friendly and always responsive. I sent them an e-mail with a number of questions and quickly got detailed and informative answers. With several other highly rated firms, I tried several times to contact someone with mixed success. I also called H&H several times with follow up questions and once again always got good answers. On the scheduled work day, the crew showed up on time and did a perfect job. They worked hard but the supervisors answered my questions patiently and professionally. I was concerned that they would leave asphalt on the edge of the stone walkway from the driveway to the house but their attention to detail is apparent; there were no marks there. And their clean up when done is wonderful. It includes the front area in the garage. Our has never looked better. In the first few days following the completion of the work, we had a number of people ask for info on the company. We gladly recommend them. It was a delight working with them.

Best ever! We had paving and cement estimates and this was the most economical solution. Looks fantastic! From the moment we called for an estimate, through the honest, practical advice, to the perfectionism in execution this is the best company we've ever dealt with. Supremely professional, honest and hard working. Beautiful results. Very happy. Would recommend H&H without hesitation.

I had a driveway that was asphalt laid onto concrete. It had been a number of years since the driveway had been resurfaced, and it was in real need of repair. When I first contacted the company, they sent a representative out to work up an estimate for me the very next day. We quickly arranged a date and time for the work, and their crew showed up exactly when they said they would. They did an absolutely beautiful job. I have made arrangements for them to come back and seal the driveway at their recommended interval of 90 days. My experience with them has been very positive and I highly recommend this company.

H&H Paving replaced our asphalt driveway with a new one. While they were not the least expensive estimate we received (all the estimates were within $100-$200 of each other -- it's not a big driveway), their responsiveness, professionalism, and positive reviews on Angie's List and other sites convinced me to go with them, and I'm glad I did! From the moment I first called H&H for an estimate until the job was complete, everyone I had contact with at H&H was professional, courteous, and responsive to all of my questions and requests. While my repave/replace job was probably one of the smaller jobs they encounter, H&H nevertheless treated me like a valued customer from start to finish! They showed up when they said they would, completed the job quickly, efficiently, and for the price I was quoted, totally cleaned up what little mess they made, and left me with a nice, new driveway. (And their cool, flame painted trucks and paving equipment were the envy of every little boy -- and a few big ones -- in our neighborhood!!!) I couldn't ask for more from a contractor, and I would definitely recommend H&H to others.

Very pleased. The crew (led by Jerry III) was slightly delayed by a previous job but went straight to work and finished the entire job in about three hours. They were respectful of the surrounding landscape and cleaned everything up after the job was done. A professional and quality provider - we hIghly recommend them.

The arrived on time and were extremely professional. They all had a job to do and they did it efficiently without wasting any time. The job took only a couple of hours.

My asphalt drive was as old as the house (1994). We'd had it 'selaed' several times over the years but noticed a year or so ago that it was 'sinking' and had created a semi-circular depression near the sidewalk to the steps. It dropped about 8 inches at the lowest part. The area around the depression had cracked making the semi-circle obvious. We've also just had a major landscape renovation by Kingstowne Lawn and Landscape (super job, by the way) which made the drive look even worse since the stone pavers used were matched to the garage floor level requiring a patch of asphalt from the stone pavers to the dropped drive so as not to create a trip hazard. Kingstowne referred us to H&H for the driveway and after a look at their reviews on Angie's List we went without getting any other estimates. We were expecting to have to have all the old asphalt removed and a new bed and asphalt top installed. This turned out not to be the case. Justin Holbrook came out to do the estimate just after the New Year's holiday and I asked about having the asphalt replaced. His opinion was that the asphalt adjacent the garage floor and adjacent the cement drive entry would have to be removed but the remainder of the drive would be covered with a fresh layer. 2 neighbors had also expressed an interest so Justin did estimates on 4 homes in the cul-de-sac. His estimate initially included a discount for off-season work as well as a multi-job discount. But my neighbors were not in as much hurry as I was so in the end it was just my drive that got done. The initial start date was delayed by weather, as were several alternate dates, just the nature of trying to schedule outdoor work in winter. When we finally did get a good day the scheduler, Sarah (who called often to keep in touch and make sure we got scheduled when available), called on a Tuesday to advise the work could be done the next day if it worked for me. We said 'go' and the next day workers arrived at 9:30 and immediately went to work. They didn't take a break, there was no standing around. The team worked as a machine (noted in several previous reviews) with everyone doing exactly what was necessary to get the job done. It took 2 hours from start to finish which included bringing in an asphalt paving machine and a roller machine, for my simple drive. One of my neighbors was impressed enough to come out and compliment not only the finished drive, but the teamwork involved noting that the team leader was not above grabbing a tool and working. It was amazing. 2 other neighbors also complimented the finished drive. One of my neighbors was advised by another company he'd contacted that asphalt should not be done in winter and suggested the work not be done until April, earliest. Justin said that work could be done in the winter as long as the weather was not freezing and it was not done during rain or snow. We were advised not to park on the new asphalt for no less than 3 days and that a week was better. The asphalt is warranted from cracking for a year but Justin said if it were maintained, it would last a very long time.

They showed up on time for the estimate. I was concerned that when the driveway was to be repaved that it not be done so that when completed rain water or melted snow would then back up into my garage. My neighbor had this problem after their driveway had been repaved by another contractor. They did a great job. Absolutely no problems with water in my garage. Driveway looks great.....best in the neighborhood.

They were terrific, just as all other reviews indicated before we hired them. Justin came out twice, because an existing construction project on our house was delayed. Their price was about the same as another quote I received, but the other company, Collegiate Sealers and Paving, would not send someone out to meet me. I had to mark off the new sections I wanted with spray paint and they email me an estimate. Needless to say that put me off hiring them. H&H crew showed up on time, were extremely professional and the work was finished fast. Driveway and new parking areas look fantastic, the newly built areas look very thick and solid. They even spread out the dirt that was dug up against the new edges of the entire driveway to provide support. Very happy and highly recommend them.

Excellent job, excellent service, excellent customer service. We received 4-5 different quotes to repair/replace our driveway and pipestem. The price was in the mid-range but the quality of materials, the work performed was top notch. The crew was unbelievable and worked through the job on a very frigid day. Both individual driveways were completely dug up and redone. The pipestem was regraded and resurfaced. From the moment we contacted the company the customer service was top quality. It is important for the homeowner to be home the day of install and if there is a garage that access be made available for the equipment to roll the surface from garage to driveway. Excellent job and highly recommend their services.
