Excellent. H&H staff was world class. Every thing from scheduling an estimate to scheduling the work, to follow up and completion. EVERYTHING WAS PERFECT! Enjoyed working with H&H Paving. Will do it again in a heartbeat.

We were all extremely pleased with the result. In my case they removed the old asphalt, re-contoured the slope for better drainage, then laid a bed of gravel, and new asphalt. The edges were carefully tamped at an angle. The crew was friendly and efficient, and Todd, the crew chief, took care to explain the process as it went along. Very good company to deal with.

We chose H&H to repave our driveway based on their reputation and that one of our neighbors got their driveway done about 3 years ago and it still looks great. We are very happy with our new driveway and the service we received from H&H. The entire process went very well. From the initial estimate to communicating and scheduling with the front office to the actual work and result. All top notch. The price was reasonable too. We could have saved a little by choosing a lesser company but we are glad we went the extra buck as the job was done right.

Th eprvious day, Miss Utility personnel had come to paint the locations of electrical, plumbing, sewers, and gas lines to indicate where they crossed the driveway and yard. H&H set up a time and arrived within 30 minutes of the appointed time. They came with a large crew and some of the heaviest equipment I have seen. They tore up the driveway, constantly watering it (you will need to provide water connection and supply) and then tamped down the surface, and prepared it for new asphalt. They dumped the aggregate, spread it around and mixed and built up 3-4" of new asphalt driveway. They then put in a tape sign and collected their check and left after informing me that the sealing was due 90 days hence. (They did not provide sealing as part of the agreement). The pricing reflects a group price that was negotiated for several households in our development. The entire process took 3.5 hours from start to finish.

Went very well. 8 man crew arrived on time and completed the job in 2.5 hrs. Crew worked like a well-oiled machine, removed tree roots, repaired 2 large cracks, paid attention to detail, and did a great job. We will definteely use them for sealing the driveway in 6 months and highly recommend them to our neighbors.

Had a estimate scheduled but had to cancel. Canceled because I located another asphalt company sooner because of my time restrictions. H&H Paving was responsive and helpful but I only in town for a week to have this job completed.

I had a really positive first impression, which is why I chose to go with them. They were very professional. They scheduled the estimate promptly and were responsive to my inquiry. They provided a lot of information about what they were going to do so I felt very comfortable with them.

Estimator came out quickly after my request and voluntarily provided addresses of previous work near me. They made the driveway look like new and were extremely pleasant to work with - highly recommend.

Excellent work -- very professional, showed up on time with a complete crew & impressive equipment, completed the work on time (1/2 day), did an excellent job, cleaned up thoroughly afterwards, and were very careful of adjacent plantings and structures. All I had hoped for.

Not as expected Updated, 8/17/17: The job was average when considering that they did charge me for removal of the timbers (paid $100 in cash) and later found that they stashed all the clippings.from the juniper under an evergreen tree in my backyard. Don't really consider that cleaning up properly. Finally, the president of this company promised me a deep discount on the cost of re-sealing my driveway. Never did get any discount in the mail and it's been about a year now. Bottom line is this company needs to be more honest in how they do their work and honor their promises afterwards. From me a "C" rating is generous.

From start to finish, everyone with whom I had contact was friendly and professional. The crew of seven men arrived on time and worked hard for two hours. I was impressed with their attention to detail and efficiency at getting the job done. It was like watching a well-choreographed dance. The results are wonderful and I couldn't be happier.

Just fine. The paving was done neatly and cleanly and no mess in our yard and on the street. Several homes in our neighborhood used them and all of us are pleased, I believe. I have subsequently damaged the driveway and H&H has been most kind to stop by and determine whether repair was needed or not.

I was initially pleased with the customer service, but once I paid the service went completely downhill. I had been talking with Sarah to initially schedule the work. The company rescheduled 3 times for different reasons. I allowed them to reschedule each time trying to be understanding and never complained. A week after the work was finished, I called and spoke to Sarah because I was concerned about the persistent dark black marks left on the white pavement at the driveway entry from the asphalt work. I thought they would wash away with the rain but they didn't. She immediately told me she would have someone come out to clean it and asked me to email her pictures. We also noticed tire marks on the driveway so I asked if she recommended that we keep the cars of the driveway longer or if this was normal. She said she would check with others and get back to me. I never heard back. I emailed again to follow up and have still not heard back. It has now been over a month since the work has been done and no one has followed up with me. I had been deciding between using Collegiate Sealers who I have used in the past and trying H & H this time. In retrospect, I wish I had gone with Collegiate even though they were a little pricier since their customer service had always been good.

The process when very well with a 5 driveway pipestem being redone. 3 of 5 driveways on the pipestem were redone and 3 others off the pipestem were also re-asphalted. A neighborhood discount was given. Pipestem owners had to split the cost evenly for the common street portion. H&H was on time and had a lot of equipment. This was a huge job for a subdivision. They started around 8 a.m. and were done by 2:30 or 3 pm. Work went very well. I think all the neighbors are happy. We had our driveway replaced b H&H 3 years ago. They were the highest quote but not by much but with the equipment and number of employees they bring out, the work will get completed timely and professionally. The men on the street decided to use H&H for the pipestem re-asphalting and others off the pipestem when on to have their driveways re-done at the same time. The project went very well. We would recommend H&H Paving .

Of all the home improvement projects we’ve taken on as of late, having our dog ugly driveway fixed was pretty low on the priority pole. To be honest, we didn’t really expect to get much satisfaction from having it replaced and we could not have been more wrong if we tried. As our real estate agent says, “curb appeal, curb appeal, curb appeal” is critical. So with the new driveway in place, our home looks 15 years younger. Thankfully we selected H&H Paving Asphalt Specialist, Inc. for this work and we couldn’t be happier ! At every step of the way, from initial contact, to job estimation, scheduling, timing, and execution these folks hit it out of the park. How often are you lucky enough to get to work with extremely pleasant people who truly know their business inside and out, and who clearly care more about your being satisfied than anything else. They are the Nordstrom’s of asphalt work when it comes to delivering first class customer support. When the job was estimated their representative arrived just as scheduled and he took plenty of time to layout the various options and without even the slightest hint of trying to sell us more than we needed. The scheduling was handled with total concern for our schedule and we were kept informed to a fare the well. We even received a call the morning of the installation to let us know the crew was on its way. I can’t say enough about the level of skill and the hard work this crew evinced from the moment they arrived up until the new drive was in place. And all of their good work was executed under the most trying conditions: we were at the start of a record breaking heat wave when they arrived but they went ahead with the work anyway. What I found most amazing was the professionalism and attention to detail with which they worked. I do some gardening and so from time to time I have to swing a pick axe. I’m happy to hit within a foot of what I was aiming at, so I watched awestruck while one of the workers wielded his axe with the accuracy of a neurosurgeon. I’ve frankly not seen the likes of this, ever ! Moreover, the choreography of the work made for a professional ballet employing all manner of machines and much bent back labor executed without a single hitch or misstep. Clearly the experience these professionals have amassed pays off during the complex execution of each and every job. I’ll attempt to add some before, during, and after photos despite the fact I could not obtain info on the limits on file sizes from the Angie’s List help team, so this may take a while. Beyond that, I can only advise you to give the folks at H&H Paving Asphalt Specialist, Inc. in Manassas, VA very, very serious consideration if you’re in need of asphalt work. You’ll be glad you did for I doubt you could find better work at a very fair price anywhere else. Slainte !

There's a crack in the driveway. I had them come out to pave my driveway a few years ago and now there's a crack. Last year they came out a put some oil on it but the crack is still there. This year, I called to get them to come fix it and they are not returning my calls.

Hugh promptly came to give me a bid and was exceedingly nice and knowledgeable. The price was very competitive with other bids I had received. I am exceedingly happy with the final installation. On the day of the installation, Hugh came to supervise the crew and worked as hard as his men did. The result is the drive looks fantastic. I would definitely hire his company again.

Excellent servicer. The driveway runs downhill toward my house and it was important to me that the driveway be installed in a way that would direct rain water away from the house and garage. They did an excellent job. And the driveway looks great. I got two bids fro highly rated asphalt companies and H&H came in significantly lower. Very professional.

Disclaimer: I really tried to give these guys business. I had read multiple great reviews on Angie's List and assumed they may be a solid contractor - and don't get me wrong, they may still be quite great at laying asphalt. But, I feel like they've almost tried to not gain business. Here's the story, two of them actually. Many months ago, I reached out to H&H as an HOA Board member to inquire about their ability to do asphalt patch work. Linda informed me that they're not set-up to do small patchwork jobs. Ok, I get that. However, she never once even asked about larger jobs in the community, etc.; which made me quickly feel that they didn't really care to find a way to gain our community's business. I would have at least expected a "But, you're in a large 370+ home community that owns the roads and parking - any chance you're in need of replacement and repair in the future?" My response would have been, "Well, why yes. That's coming up in the next few/several years and I would like to think we could plan together to phase in asphalt replacement." We had also just planned to set aside some $40K for the next year for just that type of work. Anyway, I moved on. A few days ago, I decided to give them another shot and request an estimate for the personal replacement of a driveway concrete slab and replace it with asphalt. Again, Linda (nice over email, BTW) informed me that they don't do concrete work. At first, I thought she was just confused with my request in that I was asking for a one-to-one replacement of concrete with concrete. Nope, she further informed me that they will not remove the concrete slab so that asphalt can be poured. Won't touch it. So, I would have to hire two contractors? That seems weird to me. Even if that was the case, wouldn't you (as a business), perhaps have concrete contractors on hand to recommend the client and/or work with contractor(s) to have them come in, remove it, and then you lay your asphalt? Perhaps a subcontract agreement - I mean, I'm paying the prime, and they could even build in a pass-through on the contract. More money. All in all, I'm not sure I follow the business sense. Now, this review doesn't necessarily mean they're not good at what they do when it comes to laying asphalt. But, I would recommend to H&H that they be more explicit about their not touching concrete, etc. on their website and/or in their Angie's List listing. Here's what the website says: "REMOVE AND REPLACE: Sometimes starting from scratch is best. Extremely worn or damaged asphalt may require a complete removal and replacement. Rebuilding from the ground up ensures a durable job ready to stand the test of time." Now, it's not explicit in that all they would do is remove asphalt (and not concrete), so some tweaking to the language is probably a valuable change for potential customers. Not only did I waste my time reaching out and communicating electronically, but now I've wasted my time writing a review. But, hopefully you'll (the readers) find some benefit in this before you choose to inquire about services and/or select them. At a minimum, be more informed than myself...

I don't normally gush, but these guys earned it. Here's why: Thorough Evaluation: My small driveway was beset with drainage complications. When Jerry came out to look at the job, he took a lot of time to make a careful assessment of the things that could go wrong and to discuss the possible solutions. Scheduling: The job was completed on the day it had been scheduled for. Communication: I received a call from Sarah in the office a day ahead of time confirming the schedule. Because it rained for the past 15 days, I received another call from Jerry on the day of the paving to discuss what we might do if, after removing the old asphalt, we found the ground too wet. Crew: The only two guys whose names I knew were Todd and Domingo and they were both great. They actually got into a constructive argument about the best way to attack the job due to the drainage issues. In the end, they sorted it out and collaborated to my benefit. The other guys in the crew were all hard-working and attentive to detail. Quality: My driveway looks awesome. I could not be happier.

The crew came as scheduled and the foreman, Todd was very professional. He explained the work to be done and how long it would take. Part way through the project I had a few questions and Todd was quick to alleviate my questions. I was completely satisfied with the end product.
