All work was done quickly and professionally. Jerry provided the initial estimate and then came and checked the work after it was done.Very good communications. I'm very pleased.

The experience was top notch. It's a family-owned business, and the son of the owner, Jerry, was very knowledgeable, professional, courteous and helpful. The crew itself was also fabulous. The two job managers had been with the company for decades and really knew what they were doing. They made design suggestions that were invaluable. They did a beautiful job of repaving. I couldn't be happier with the work. The price was competitive with other offers I received. It was not the lowest bid, but their professionalism made me more comfortable going with them rather than the lowest bid. It was a good choice!

The Office was very polite and friendly. However, they indicated that they do not do work for under $2,500. That rules out most modest repair work like mine. It would have saved me a bunch of time researching them before I called them and found out their cost minimum. I was, however, very glad they told me that on the phone.

Company sent an estimator to measure driveway and prepare a written estimate. I was advised via phone when I scheduled the estimate that someone would come to my location, measure the driveway and I would receive an estimate via e-mail. I never received a written estimate and when I called the company a couple days later, I left a message that was never returned.

I was looking for estimates for sealing my driveway. In the past I have used some other contractors and have not had very good experiences with them. I contacted H&H Paving for an estimate on Saturday, August 3rd. Their office was closed and I got their answering machine in which I left a message. On Tuesday, August 5th, I received a call from H&H Paving telling me they normally do not seal driveways they have not installed. H&H Paving said they could come out and take a look at it and maybe give me an estimate. Over a week went by and we left for vacation. When we returned on August 15th, our neighbor had said that H&H Paving had been there on August 14th. She had slid their packet under my doormat. They left a very nice folder with their certificate of liability insurance, their business license, places of operations, a letter of their company's history, and a warning about unscrupulous contractors (which I've experienced). However, there was no estimate!!! I'm not sure if they came out and wanted to talk and we weren't home or if they just decided they didn't want to do the job. H&H Paving never followed up with a phone message and to this day has not gotten back with us. We went with another contractor. I was disappointed in H&H Paving's responsiveness but I would not rule them out over this. They may be the right fit if you need a driveway repaved or resurface. But I was disappointed that they couldn't have responded a bit faster. If they didn't want my business it would have been best to just tell me so up front so I could move on. I'm posting this so that H&H Paving may improve their responsiveness.

H & H Paving had to remove a large portion of the original driveway where it entered the garage. The driveway had collapsed because of chipmunk burrows. They laid 2.5 inches of new asphalt and the new driveway is beautiful.

We and our neighbors needed to resurface our driveways and the long pipestem leading to the properties. H&H had resurfaced one of our neighbor's driveways two years ago; we liked the work H&H did on that property. Jerry Holbrook was very responsive and willing to work with four property owners to provide estimates on four projects: three driveways and the common pipestem. He worked with each property owner to determine what was needed on each driveway. While H&H was not the least expensive quote, we selected them based on the prior work they had done and their willingness to work with us on scheduling the work. The work was completed in two days and went very smoothly. Jerry was here working with the crew to make sure everything went as planned. I appreciated H&H's use of email to provide the quotes and respond to questions. The individuals answering the phone at H&H's office were always very helpful, knowledgeable and polite. Jerry timely responded to phone calls and emails. Because of the size of this job, working with a company that had an office staff was one of our deciding factors. (Not every contractor was willing to work with each homeowner or provide separate estimates.)

Very professional...waiting to receive estimate today...so far very impressed.

We have a long driveway 400 feet from the road and a good size turn around with extensive stone work along the edges. We had no over spray on the stones, sidewalks or garage aprons!! The crew did a fantastic job! They took the time to do the prep work and the result was a beautifully sealed driveway. The H&H crew that re-did our driveway 6 months ago also did an outstanding job! Spreading the asphalt around all the stone work was a challenge they met with extreme skill and dedication to doing quality work. The cost was worth every penny! After interviewing two other contractors for the job, I was very impressed with the way Jerry Holbrook ran his company!

Contractor arrive exactly when scheduled. They had a flatbed trailer with 2 roller vehicles, a "bobcat" and a special machine which they used to spread the stone and apply the asphalt in two different processes. They also had a large dump truck which they loaded the old asphalt into, another large dump truck that had the 21A stone in it and a third dump truck that had the new asphalt in it. The job went like clockwork. They first manually removed the grass that had overgrown the old driveway to expose the perimeter of the old driveway. The bobcat then moved in and removed the old blacktop quickly and professionally. They leveled the old base with one of the rolling machines, then the dump truck with the stone pulled up and they filled up "Lee Boy" a special machine designed for laying down materials in a even level surface. They filled in around where Lee Boy (LB) couldn't fit and then rolled the surface to a perfect base. The cleaned LB of the stone and filled it with new asphalt from the next dump truck. LB provided a quantity of asphalt that was compacted by roller while others tamped the edges at a 45 degree angle. One of the guys even fine tuned the slope of the surface to prevent water from draining the wrong way. He tested it by spraying with a hose and I observed the water flowing to the gutter. The foreman then explained how to care for the surface over the next week or so and confirmed that I was satisfied with the work. I did not have to pay anything until that time. I was so pleased that I tipped generously (I hope they don't get in trouble that I said that). The company provided references for me to go look at their prior work. One job was right up the street paved about 6 months ago. The quality of that job was what I was looking for so I signed the contract the next day. Absolutely no regrets.

As expected. No issues to date.

They were EXCELLENT. Very responsive, coming out three times to go over the plans with us prior to the date of install as we came up with new questions and concerns. They were fast and efficient and all of their crew were helpful and skilled. They answered all of our questions and dealt with all of our individual issues with our landscaping, the slope of our turn-around, our garage area, and even put some gravel down to provide a smooth transition for one area of our yard/driveway that serves as part of a "track" for some of the neighborhood kids to race their bikes/motorized toy cars. They were exceptionally helpful and polite and the work was stellar. We had heavy rains for a couple of days after the work was done (before we could drive on it) and the water did not pool anywhere - it was sloped perfectly. They also straightened it out completely where the edges had been a bit irregular previously. I could not recommend them more highly. The work they did was outstanding in every way. It was more than we had expected to pay, but worth every penny. We were very pleased.

Quick response to our enquiries. Helpful in discussing needs of the job. Driveway was widened and also brought up to the level of the garage where we had 6 inches subsidence. They were professional, courteous, efficient. Excellent job.

Great service from start to finish, always on time, answered all my questions during the on-site estimate and in later phone calls. The entire staff from the person answering the phone to the guys on the crew were polite, knowledgable, and working hard to make this a great experience. This family owned business is a tightly run ship, met the owner and his sons on the job, they take personal pride in their work. The crew is fanatical about avoiding damage to the lawn and landscaping and cleaning up after the job.

They did a good job making it look good. However, they left scratches on the concrete that were not there before. I think those have kind of weathered over now though. Updated 8/27/14. Wiregrass is growing right up through the blacktop in places, so apparantly they skimped on the thickness of the blacktop. Loose black gravely pieces keep appearing on the driveway. Not a smooth finish.

My call to H&H for an estimate was promptly returned and a visit scheduled. I was provided detailed and prompt responses to all of my questions and concerns. I selected H&H due to the professionalism they exhibited in all of our communications and feedback on quality from references (and Angie's List responses). I needed to delay the work start date by a couple of months due to other home mods in proocess. Justin still honored the original estimate when work was finally scheduled. Coordination prior to the paving date by the office made sure all was on track. Follow-up up questions were quickly responded to and always courteous. The team arrived on the scheduled day and proceeded with amazing efficiency. Jerry (owner) was constantly scrutinizing their work as he ran the paver and directed detailed adjustments to the job as it progressed. It was a pleasure to observe their passion for perfection. Its hard work but they all exhibited a very positive attitude as the new driveway took shape. The depth of experience was apparent by the smooth flow and rapid progress they achieved. Attention to detail is a focus of the crew: they swept up loose gravel at completion from the lawn, curb, and street, kept the concrete ramp free of stains and asphalt, verified slope for proper water runoff. I am very satisfied with the new driveway. These guys are pros; I will call them again.

The H&H crew arrived on schedule and the foreman checked with me before starting to make sure we agreed on the work to be done. I checked on their progress once while they were working and again when they told me they were finishing up. The end result was better than expected and a vast improvement over the old driveway. I'd definitely recommend H&H Paving and will almost certainly use them again if we need further work done in the future.

The service was outstanding. We got a great value for what we paid for. We have a pretty big driveway; it wasn’t as expensive as some of the other quotes we received. Overall, we were impressed.

The crew came on time, they answered my questions, had the equipment they needed, did a great job, and cleaned everything up before they left. They also took the time to give me more information and answer my questions before they left. The driveway was resurfaced just 2 weeks ago and I'm very happy with the work that H&H did.

Both jobs went extremely well. H&H did everything exactly as they said they would - showing up on time and completing all work as described in the contracts. Jerry Jr. and Jerry III were extremely easy to work with and very "hands on." One or both were onsite everyday overseeing the work and ensuring that everything was completed as described to the homeowners. They used every bit of daylight in an effort to complete the job as quickly as possible in order to minimize the disruption to the community. I would use them again without hesitation.

The paving team was punctual, arriving shortly after 9 AM. The entire crew was well versed on each of the tasks that were to be accomplished, and each crew member performed their tasks in sequence without a hitch. The crew was very neat and cleaned up after themselves without being asked. They were also very responsive to me, the homeowner, about the angle to use to tamp the edges of the new driveway along the grass line, especially where it met an existing cement walkway and the culvert at the bottom of the driveway. Their quality of work was very fine. The work was completed by 1 PM that day.

We were very pleased with the work that H & H did on our driveway. The owner came over soon after I called, requesting an estimate. Compared with the other companies I called, the work described for me by H&H was far more professional and the price was fair. The work was completed in less than a day and the owner was present for the job. The other companies basically wanted to just pour the asphalt over the existing loose rock, but H&H do superior work by first putting down a compact "bed", or foundation, before finishing it with asphalt. They give a one year warranty.

Jerry and his team arrived as scheduled, completed the work in 1 day as promised, for the price quoted and left the job completely cleaned up, but this is what I expected. What was unique is what happened while he was here. We left our garage open as requested (given the ratings they have on Angie's list I had no problems with this as one reviewer had) and they got right to it when they arrived. When I returned, they were well into the job. Over the next 2 hours, three of our neighbors came over to talk about what we were doing and how we selected H&H. The upshot of all this is that H&H not only completed our work but did three additional driveways that day. Jerry's team worked non stop to get it done. We couldn't be happier with the product (The workmanship is top quality) and the level of service and professionalism, and highly recommend them for any paving you are considering.

We signed a contract with H & H even though they had the highest bid. However just before the job we had a discussion over their need to keep our garage open to work; given new wall and floor painting we had just done in our garage we were concerned over possible dirt and tar damages. Jerry said he could not guarantee no damages, which I understand, but also said they would not accept responsibility for any damages they caused or for repairs. I pointed out that i could not accept unlimited responsibility/cost for any damages they caused and stated my expectation that a professional company accept responsibility for damages they cause and the cost. Jerry became very defensive and accused me of treating him unprofessionally and suggested we just drop the contract. I said that would be fine and noted I would post on Angie's List explaining why we dropped the contract. He then threatened to sue me for slander for doing so. (Interesting tactic to avoid bad Angie's reviews.) Obviously, we will not be doing business together. No professional company should expect to be indemnified against damages they cause. In my opinion anyone doing business with this company does so at their own risk. Even if 9 out of 10 jobs goes well, if you are the 10th job where they cause damages, you'll end up paying to fix it yourself.....

We interviewed seven contractors, and chose H & H because they provided us with a list of prior customers and we were able to look at a number of their previous projects. Most of the other contractors were pretty vague about us viewing their prior work, and one or two actually acted "surprised" that we would be interested! We were resurfacing a 30-year old driveway, not too bad in general but we needed two extensions added as well. H & H's pricing was not the lowest, about in the middle, but we were impressed by the professional presentation and the way all our questions were answered. Similar to other reviews, the crew worked steadily on a very hot day, each crew member seemed to know his part perfectly and there was no down time that we could see. The 6 or 7 workers finished in a day, and my husband sat outside and observed everything and was quite impressed with their work ethic. So, without going into details like how much asphalt was poured, etc., which I don't know anyhow, I would say we were very pleased by the whole process and would recommend them to anyone wanting a quality product.
