I've hired Freedom twice. The first time was to remove very tall dead trees while also removing trees too close to my home. The second time they removed and grinded small trees while trimming a large one in my front yard. Howard, a certified arborist, did both of my estimates. He's very thorough and doesn't upsell you on any additional work. When I ask for advice on the health of a tree, or what he recommends to do with existing large trees, he provides very clear answers. Each time, I received an email with the estimate. When the day comes, the Freedom crew is respectful to my property and they leave it very clean. For the money, you get professionals working in your yard. Since I first used them, 3 of my neighbors have hired Freedom Tree Service. They work fast, clean, and are very professional to show you anything they find if it's an issue. I can't see hiring any other tree company for as long as I live in northern VA.

Freedom tree provided an estimate the day after I called them. After I accepted the offer they provided a timeframe for completing the work. They called several days before they came to remind me it was happening. The removed tree stump on schedule. The completed the work quickly and left my yard in good condition. I would gladly call Freedom Tree Service i and when I need another tree removed.

Staff and work crew were very professional and courteous. Work was slower to get scheduled than we'd wanted, but it did involve a vacation break for them, so we understand those things can happen. Once we contacted them back, they were very responsive and the work was completed in a week's time. They asked if they could take a bucket truck down through the yard to get to one tree. Due to the recent rain and heavy treeline (with the ground being slower to dry), we declined, concerned about the damage to the yard. We were very happy they asked up front vs. just doing it and apologizing later. One of the stumps wasn't cut low and after a phone-call, they fixed that within two days. All debris was removed and the site cleaned up well. Their price was also very competitive. I would not hesitate to call them again.

They have a very professional crew. Their price is right in the middle. They do all their work in a very safe manner and completely clean up. I don't bother calling anyone else now for tree service.

The proposal was given on time and we discussed ways to finance the job as they were not able to take credit cards. It was good to hear that they were able to take payments over three months. It was a very good price considering the estimates I had received for other jobs. Both trees were difficult. The first tree was actually two trees, one was dead and reached over my asphalt driveway. The bucket truck was perfect for it. They were able to bring it down for the price of two trees and without any harm to the driveway. Most of it was put in a wood chipper. The second tree was in the back acre and among a forested environment and was an uprooted tree hung up among others. It was a difficult tree to get down. They chopped it up but didn't remove it. I was impressed by the speed and hard work to get it done that day. There are only a couple negative points. The workers played around in an unprofessional and unsafe manner at times and one person either did not have a helmet available or didn't choose to wear it. If there was an accident there are worries I would have been liable. I would suggest you ensure all workers have safety equipment and wear it while working.

My husband was the one who met and was home while the work was done. He was impressed. They cut down nine trees. Some of them were chipped and some were taken away. You couldn't even tell they were here; they cleaned up very nicely. We would use them again.

The service was excellent and the price was the lowest of the three estimates I got. They came and gave me an estimate in less than a week of my first call. After I decided to use them they provided the service again in less than a week. Their workers were professional and really knew what they were doing, especially the lead man Jose. They knew exactly how to prevent anything from hitting my house or fence, they were fast and did an excellent clean up job. I would highly recommend Freedom Tree Service and Jose's team.

I called and left message and this company never returned my call. I mentioned that I had found their company on Angie's List and was interested in removal of tree debris. I would have expected a call back as to whether or not they could do the job.

We've used Freedom Tree service several times to take down trees and chip/mulch the limbs and branches. They do excellent work and are probably the most reasonably priced of any company we have ever used for this kind of work.

They were more involved because there was so much work. Their estimator came out and gave me a price and looked at everything. They did exactly what they said they would do. I had a couple of trees in tricky places and they got them all cut and carted stuff away. It was a tremendous amount of work. I got value for that money. The main thing was that they came the day they said they would be here. I did not see them grouping around after work. When they left they cleaned up. They took down a tree and it was very labor intensive work. There were a lot of trees to handle. They grounded the trees and dumped them as mulch. There was one of the buildings that were close to the tree and the fencing so when they dropped the tree, it did not hit anything. The tree that was down, they cleaned that up. Overall they did what they said they would do. When one of the jobs was not done they came back and told me that it was more complicated and that they needed more money. I did not bother to get competitive prices because I used them before and I just trust the guy that he would give me a reasonable price. So I did not shop around but I thought it was a reasonable price, knowing how it was.

When the 4 gentlemen arrived I inquired about a stack of logs we wanted removed. They were happy to add this on at an extremely reasonable price. We were also very pleased overall with how careful the guys were. They needed to remove part of our chainlink fence to get the grinder into the backyard. I had asked them to be especially careful of some plants near the gate I didn't want harmed. They were careful, fast and professional. The limbs were taken down w/ consideration of where they would fall in the yard, the fence line or the house. It isn't a big yard and these trees were close to the property line and the house. We were especially glad to see how they raked the mulch as they were grinding the stumps. They returned the chainlink as they found it. It took less than 5 hours from start to finish and we would definitely use them again.

They showed up on time and were very professional and hardworking. These guys know what they are doing! I am a repeat customer and I appreciate the work they do. They even blew out a bed that had a lot of leaves because a few branches fell. I can't say enough good things about this company!

This company is professional all the way. Called request estimate 2 days later estimate on door, price was correct , faxed paperwork,they set the job in the system advised will call day before they arrive. Two weeks later they called with time and date, the crew arrived 10 mins early set up safety zone around truck . Crew was safe and job completed timely with total clean up . Hats off to this company they have my tree business and recommendation. Thanks

We cut down a large Poplar tree next to our house as well as 6 other small trees that were dead in the back yard. Their pricing was very reasonable (I had other bids and their price was more than $1000 in savings). They showed up on time and took every piece of wood away as they said they would. This is a super company.

After an estimate, the crew arrived and did a very professional job. Cleanup was terrific. Prompt and polite. We have used them previously and will continue to do so. Many neighbors have also used their services.

A storm split a large tree in my backyard. Freedom tree responded promptly to my request for an estimate. They determine the remainder of the tree needed to be taken down to avoid property damage. They successfully took the tree down and returned later for cleanup since there were a lot of service calls elsewhere. They also grinded the stump. The grinder did breakdown on site but the owner kept me informed on the repairs.

The estimator showed up as scheduled, and provided the estimate as requested. I was able to get a couple of follow-up questions answered promptly. The work was scheduled to be done once we'd accepted the estimate, and the date scheduled was about 3 weeks after the acceptance date. The crew showed up exactly as promised, and did a great job in a tricky situation, as the tree that was removed was very close to both the house and the driveway. Despite the difficulty, there was no problem with the removal. All the work was done exactly as discussed, and cleanup was very good. We would definitely use this company again for any tree work we need to have done. We have already recommended Freedom Tree Service to our neighbors.

I had signed the contract a week or so earlier and was waiting for a date for the work to be done (they said it would be 2-3 weeks since there was no immediate danger) when they called asking if they could come that day since they had a cancellation. That was great! The arborist arrived with a crew of four and two trucks. As soon as the job was laid out (with my input) the crew took over (and the arborist left). The crew worked very efficiently and all seemed highly skilled. After watching for an hour or so I went off to work and when I came home that night the trees were cut down and cut to length, the chips were in a pile, and the work areas were cleaned up. They actually left my patio cleaner than when they came.

There was a very old Pine Tree in my mothers back yard that was now dieing and starting to uproot and lean towards her house. I contacted Freedom Tree Service after receiving several recommendations from various friends. They were quick to respond and were able to set up an appointment to review the work soon after we talked. One of the owners, Howard Curtis, arrived and was able to provide a cost estimate on the spot. Not only was the price very reasonable but he put no pressure on my mother to make a decision and there was never a 'sales pitch'. I knew that they were a family owned company with a solid Christian background which I admired. His honesty and kindest showed the entire time he discussed the work with my mother. (He even brought in her trash cans for her from the street before knocking on the door!) When we called to schedule the work, they were able to squeeze her in quickly. They did above and beyond what we had expected and actually left her yard looking better than it did when they arrived. The entire team was very friendly during the entire project. I believe they are a company that will always do what they promise and in a professional, friendly way. Freedom Tree Service has a customer for life as far as I am concerned. Its rare these days to find a company that you can trust will do the right thing.
