Freedom Tree was extremely responsive, got in touch quickly, gave me an estimate, some great advice, and did the work quickly as soon as I gave them the go ahead. I was very impressed by their customer service, their price was reasonable, and they did a great job. I've asked them to come back and do some more work for me in the back of my house. I highly recommend them.

They did a wonderful job. I am very pleased with them and howard and the office staff was wonderful.

The quote for the effort included the statement - Debris will be left in woods or chipped , but NOT left in open creek bottom. I forwarded numerous emails asking what was the criteria as to what debris would be left in the woods and what would be chipped. The Project Manager would not answer that question but the Office Manager did indicate some would be chipped. However, at the time the effort was being accomplished, I again asked the Project Manager what would be chipped and he again was evasive. He finally indicated they would chip on the branches/limbs on the left side but not on the right which seemed to be an appeasement It was obvious he had not planned on doing any chipping. For an owner having a vacant area behind his home, the concern is his acceptance of having the debris deposited in that vacant area. . If he doesn't, he should try to clarify what debris is to be removed and have is to be left behind. I was unable to do that with Freedom Tree Service.

Went well, although a word of financial caution, they don't take credit cards. I'd hire them again, if we needed it.

It went very well. The crew arrived on time and was very professional. They went to work immediately to cut the tree and limb down. The tree was cut into sections that will be split for firewood. All limbs were shredded and hauled away. The crew did an excellent job cleaning the work site. They blew the entire driveway, front porch and sidewalk. A very professional job and I would use the company again and recommend the company to my neighbors and friends.

They do an excellent job, they clean up well, and they are prompt. They charge a great price. I have used them many times, they are good honest people!

These guys are top notch! They were recommended by a friend and I called to get a price to remove a HUGE apple tree that was dying in my backyard. Johnny (one of the owners) came out a couple days after my call and quoted a very fair price for the work and while he was here we got pricing on trimming up some other trees in the yard. They arrived on time the day they were scheduled to be here and did the work quickly and efficiently. They came the next day to grind out the stump and always cleaned up when they were done. I couldn't be happier and highly recommend Freedom Tree Service!

Excellent work! I will ALWAYS use Freedom Tree service! Note: they must be popular because they couldn't start the work for 15 days. That was completely fine with me because I knew the quality of work that they do!!

Manually cut down and removed very large tulip poplar. Trimmed large hemlocks and other trees and cut-down trees along perimeter of woods. All trees and debris were fed into large chipper and wood chips were distributed throughout woods. Also trimmed trees along driveway and removed tree branches and debris near culvert. In one spot equipment damaged grass and they applied grass seed which has grown in nicely. Crew and management were professional, knowledgeable, and prompt. Best tree service I have ever used - highly recommend.

Received a call within 3 days of making contact and given a 2 week estimate to wait for the visit. Called ahead and arrived on time to provide estimate as requested.

On a scale of 1 - 10, I would have to give them a 20. Most impressive to me was (1) very, very safety minded (2) yard cleanup of debris and trimmings way above average (3) each individual worker was knowledgeable and proficient in his assigned tasks which made for a job well done upon completion. All were courteous and proficient but I want to mention a special thank you to Howard (the Arborist) and Sandy (of the office). They were always very helpful and willing to answer any questions I had.

The guys that did the work were extremely nice. I have nothing negative to say about them

Their professionalism and attention to detail is awesome. Everything is cleaned up before they leave. This is my "GoTo" business whenever I need any tree service.

Very impressed. We solicited only from vendors who scored well on Wash Consumer Checkbook (this was before we joined Angie's list) so we knew we were getting apples to apples quality. But Freedom came in $300 below the lowest and was 50% of the highest....for the same work! When the estimator John came by, I got a sense of how he runs the business and I was proud of the ethical philosophy. But the proof is in the pudding and we held final judgement until the work was done. Well it was done excellently- they avoided hurting an arbor right underneath the Leyland Cypresses. They were on time, cleaned up after themselves and were patient when we dealt with the dogs while they were on-site. They had to come back for the stump grinding because the ground was saturated from late snows so that was understandable. And then the bill came in as estimated and it was an all around great experience. Would definitely recommend them to the neighborhood.

It was average. They had to come back twice and it took a long time to schedule. It was more expensive than the others I had called.

They were very prompt in coming out and providing an estimate. Their estimate was the lowest by a considerable amount (the other company was also highly rated on Angie's List). Upon acceptance of their estimate, they were able to come out the next week and remove the three trees. The crew was professional, skilled and conscientious. They cleaned up the property very well, even spreading out the wood chips from the stump removal into the surrounding planting bed. They had to leave several cut-up sections of the trunk on the property for a few days (because they had completely filled up the two trucks on the jobsite). The crew communicated this to me before they left and the office called me first thing the next morning to let me know that they would be out to remove the remaining sections the following day (which they did exactly as promised). Great experience overall; glad I used them.

I contacted them to get an estimate for removal of a tree in my front yard. They were able to do the estimate while I wasn't home which was helpful so I didn't have to take time off from work. The price was reasonable, however, I think in my instructions on which tree required removal I was not clear, as they gave me an estimate for a different tree that I do not want removed. The tree I want to keep was considerably larger and probably would require more labor so based on the estimate I thought it was quite reasonable. There were able to come out and provide an estimate within a few days of me contacting their office.

Freedom removed the trees we didn't want for firewood, taking care to avoid the fencing and neighbor's homes and left the remaining oak, maple and cherry in workable sections for splitting. While we had to wait about a month to get scheduled, the crew arrived on time and their price was half of those we received from 3 other Angie's list vendors.

The work was done as described in the estimate. Communication was excellent. The crew was friendly and thorough. We are so glad Angie's List came through for us, again.

Everybody was nice, except one man. He was just a little rude, and when he went up the tree, he didn't wear a hat. The others were very professional, and he just had an attitude when he had to do somethings. When the first contractor came out, we discussed the work that we had to do, and when he came out, he had an attitude about the work. I had to be stern with him. The work that they did was good. I got my money's worth. I had to be a little firm with the one man. I think he was the head and there was no warning about moving cars either, and I had a broken elbow, so I was in a cast, and I could not move three cars, and then they decided that they didn't need to move mine, but they needed to move my neighbors. I had good neighbors who moved their cars, but we weren't warned in advance.

They did a great job, were very professional and cleaned up afterwards. I would highly recommend them to amyone and will certainly use them in the future when needed.

Highly recommended contractor. The certified arborist arrived as promised and walked the property with me as I discussed the work I wanted done. He was very professional and provided a clear, detailed estimate and answered all my questions. Before deciding to select the contractor, I requested and was provided insurance certifications directly from the company's insurers. The work crew (4 men) came a few weeks later, worked very hard, and was highly professional. The two trees that were removed were along a fence line and the crew used ropes to carefully remove the trees. All work contracted for was performed and the crew did an outstanding job cleaning up the property.

A very large (approximately 50' tall & 30" diameter) tree fell during the ice storm in December. After the initial clean-up, clearing the street and sidewalks on both sides of the street, we were left with the bottom 16' feet of the trunk leaning at about a 45 degree angle still attached to the large uprooted root ball. We contacted Freedom Tree Service and two other Tree Service Companies. We selected all three from Angie's List. Sandy at Freedom took the call and was very pleasant to work with. This was in the middle of the Holiday season. Howard Curtis called to arrange for an estimate. He arrived on time and called ahead before arriving. He was very professional in preparing the estimate and gave us a feeling of confidence in the ability of Freedom to complete the work in a professional and timely manner. In spite of the Holiday season he arranged for the work on the tree trunk to be completed the following Saturday. The crew called before arriving and completed the work quickly and professionally. They cleaned the area quite well. The root ball work was done on January 2. Again, the work was completed efficiently and the area cleaned up afterward. We will definitely call Freedom Tree Service for any future tree work.

Tree removal, trim, stump grinding...

We needed 3 trees removed from our property, one of which was leaning towards the house. The trees were at least 150 feet high. The crew arrived with all of the necessary heavy duty equipment ( bucket truck, chipper etc.)and worked from 9:00AM to 6:30 PM. At 6:30 PM one of the workers was still up at the top of the trree with a chainsaw and it was dark. All of the major branches and limbs were removed on this first work day and the driveway was completely clean of any debris. They came back a second day to remove the tree trunks and this took half a day. Quite a process but the team was extremely proficiant and professional. Our house is on a hill but all of the equipment was accessible and I was able to leave and return. I feel that for the job that they did, it was worth the price. It was not an easy job and anyone watching this process would agree that if you go cheap, "you get what you pay for." The crew worked hard, were professional and friendly. Howard was very responsive to our questions and concerns, especially since we had to reschedule due to the weather.. The office staff was also very nice to deal with. It was a positive experience.
