ISA Certified arborist which is very important when addressing your plants/trees. John Curtis arrived and was very courteous, called when he was coming and very informative. We wanted honest answers as to when to trim our trees and, in some cases, know what they were. Part of our lot is wooded and damage to our home is a major concern. John carefully went over what we were dealing with after we explained our plans. We had to put a hold on our plans but just decided on a company located in our county. The toss was between who was referred to us and closer to us. Freedom's price was very competitive. I know we would have been very happy with the results

They were prompt, professional and got the job done right. They took the time to put the cover on my pool for me so that I wouldn't have debris in the pool. What they stated on my estimate was what I paid on the final bill. I would definitely recommend them to anyone having any tree work done. Not only was their work top notch, but they were also the cheapest of the 4 estimates that I had done for the work.

Initial tree evaluation and work estimate was performed by Howard Curtis personally, one of the companies tree experts. Freedom Tree personnel were responsive, professional, efficient, timely (due to concern for up coming storm hazard), and arrived with right equipment for right job. Tree was safetly and quickly taken down, shredded and yard area cleaned up. With another piece of equipment, the base stump was throughly shredded.

They were timely. They came here a little early. They called a little early and asked if they could come in a few days earlier to start because they had some extra time. They got most of the job done and then came in a few days later as scheduled and finished everything up. They did an absolutely wonderful job. The job that they did for the money was incredible. I just can’t say enough good things about them. They were really good. They were the lowest bid that I had gotten and they did an incredible job. I would definitely use them again in the future.

I'm pleased with the simple, easy task that was arranged and finished. I will use Howard Curtis and Freedom Tree Service, Inc. again since there are many trees on our property. The snowstorm of 2011 brought down 4 very large old trees on our property-- one on top of our house and another across our drive, as well as several near but not on the house. Within 4 hours of our call, Freedom Tree Service was working on our trees. Removing the tree from our snow-covered roof took 3 men 1/2 day. They were extremely careful to remove the tree without damaging the roof. Because of our location, the tree had to be removed by hand and ropes rather than using a hydraulic lift. All tree debris was deposited next to our drive until the snow melted enough for removal. When they came to remove the tree debris, they also cut down a large pine tree that was leaning precariously toward our house. This is the 3rd or 4th time we have used Freedom Tree Service; we are extremely satisfied with their service.

We talked to them on a Sunday, they came out for the estimate on Tues and did the work that Friday. They were extremely responsive to this semi-emergency situation. They took down a huge tree (even after half of it just fell over, the other half was large) that was leaning towards our house and hanging over our neighbor's. Everything was cleaned up. Price was very reasonable.

Everything went great. They were so friendly and professional. They cleaned up after themselves perfectly. I couldn't even tell they were here. He is very knowledgeable about his trade. I would recommend this company to anyone. They are excellent! I would use them again.

We recently bought a house with a 1/2 acre large lot that needed routine tree clean up. 4 of the 5 trees were in the back yard. One of our 2 dead trees collapsed into another one of our live tree from the time of estimate to the day the work was performed. Two of the largest trees were severely leaning towards a neighbors yard and shed (because they grew that way not because they were uprooting). An overgrown and very dense hybrid pear tree was removed in the front yard and was a hazard as both phone and electrical wires ran through the tree. We agreed to allow the company to drive into our back yard to leave the wood chips and leave bulk of the wood cut in fireplace log length to reduce the cost of the overall job. Six men came to do the job, which took the entire day. They did exactly as we discussed. I knew some saplings would get broken and they trimmed broken branches or cut them to the ground at my request. There was an issue with the tip of one of the tree crowns hit the fence, which for the size of the leaning tree was almost unavoidable. The fence was repaired the same day to our satisfaction. Due to a drainage pipe blocking the chipper from going into the backyard, I permitted a bobcat type machine to make limited trips to the rear of the yard to expedite cleanup of brush and limbs. We have used this company for the last 5 or more years. They have very compeditive prices and always do a great job. They are professional arborists and are very conservative with their recommendations and are good at finding ways to help you keep your trees. They only use tree spikes to climb a tree when the tree is going to be cut down. Otherwise, they repel up trees with professional climbing equipment to take down dead limbs so no injury is done to the tree. They rope every medium and large dead limb being cut down to avoid damaging other trees and property. We have recommended them to other neighbors and they have expressed also being satisfied with them. We always do get at least one other estimate. But this company always has the best prices and we have never regretted using them. They are also highly rated by the Washington Checkbook, which is how we originally learned about them.

Could not have gone better! Arrived on time at 9 AM and were finished including all clean-up by 5 PM. Howard Curtis was a professional through out in all of his actions pertaining to our service.

Picking a good tree cutting service is always a challenge but picking an outstanding one is near impossible. Thanks to Angie's List I was fortunate to have picked Freedom Tree Services which turned out to be an outstanding one. Starting with the estimate which was provided very quickly by John Curtis to the afternoon the Freedom crew left my property I was completely satisfied with the professionalism and efficiency of the job supervisor and his 5-6 man crew. Most of the work performed was in a heavily wooded portion of my 5 acre property which is practically inaccessible to heavy equipment. John was confident that he would be able to get his log lifting Bobcat through the woods to the rear of the property. In doing so he would have to remove sections of pasture fencing in 2 separate areas. He agreed to remove them and replace them once he was finished. I accepted his bid because I felt it was very reasonable for the work that was to be performed. John and his crew arrived on time on 7/21/10. He assigned different jobs to each of his crew members. Each worked efficiently with little supervision. As promised John had a couple of his crew members remove the sections of the fencing that would provide access for the Bobcat. I was especially impressed with the crew member who operated the Bobcat. He cleared about a 1/2 acre of downed trees and underbrush in no time. Another outstanding member of John's crew was his tree removal specialist. With rope and tackle he skillfully scaled a 60' diseased oak, removing limbs and branches as he climbed. Once he reached the top he removed several large limbs and then descended to the ground and made the necessary cut to bring the tree down exactly on its predicted fall line. This was reassuring because this particular tree was close to the house. By late afternoon everything and more had been completed. The crew cleaned everything up as promised before they left. I've got a good batting average going with Angie's List service providers and with this one I FEEL LIKE I HIT A HOME RUN. I highly recommend Freedom Tree Service the next time you want the job done right the first time for a reasonable price.

We brought three companies in to assess the situation and provide bids on the work needed. Two of the three companies sent certified arborists - both of those companies (one of which was Freedom Tree Service) gave us options on handling the large maple - either (1) taking it all down or (2) removing the dead limbs and also reducing the weight of the part over the house and garage - but saving the bulk of the tree. We were most impressed with the arborist sent by Freedom Tree Service - and they had the lowest price - so we chose them. When the four-man crew came out to do the work, we were pleased to see that Howard Curtis, the arborist who provided the bid, headed up the team. This meant that we did not have to worry about the workers interpreting things differently than what we had agreed to. They were all professional, careful, efficient, thorough, knowledgeable, and courteous thoughout. They completed the job including removal and cleanup in less than three hours. They even took down an additional dead limb on another tree and took out a damaged myrtle at our request at no additional cost. We were very very pleased that we chose this company, and we recommend them highly, they are first rate.

They were very responsive from the estimate to doing the work. One of my trees was in really bad shape due to some prior work, Freedom was able to re-shape the tree so it looks much better. They were very professional from start to finish.

They did a great job. They did a great job cleaning up. One of the braches fell and broke a gutter of mine but they repaired it. I was amazed that it was the only thing that was ruined because it's right next to my house. They were very punctual. The price was very reasonable. They were half the amount compared to other companies.

We bought our home in 2000. The backyard was completely overgrown, the back of the house was dark, and a retaining wall was collapsing. The repair of the retaining wall required the removal of a tree. The landscape company recommended Freedom Tree Services. The owner (an arborist) Johnny Curtis inspected the entire property and listened to our concerns. He appeared to be very knowledgeable and was very personable. He recommended the removal of several trees and explained the reasons. Since we did not know him we were skeptical and got for three other estimates. After interviewing several other companies, we decided to go with Freedom Trees. At the end, Freedom Trees was not the cheapest (but upon my request they matched the price), but for certain the most personable, knowledgeable, and committed in helping us. The other folks just answered what I asked. At the end Johnny was right on, a tree that looked perfectly healthy to us, had a hole from the top all the way to the root (we were amazed!). The trimming job was wonderful; now our backyard is much brighter. I just wish that I had not asked them to "mulch" the remain of the trees. The mulch ended up horrible. I should have just asked them to recycle it.

I FELT THEY DID VERY GOOD WORK. I THINK THEY DID A GREAT CLEAN-UP JOB. VERY GOOD CARE WAS TAKEN WITH THE YARD. I THINK THEY WERE A VERY GOOD COMPANY TO WORK WITH.
