GREAT!! Dave Boyers came out to inspect and repair a gas fireplace that had not been working for 15 years. He worked for two hours trying to get the old Heatilator fixtures working but could not succeed. He told me that I'd have to find someone else to effect the repairs. An hour later he called me to say that he found the replacement fixtures on eBay. Today he installed the new parts, cleaned the fireplace inside and out (including the glass plate), fixed a gas leak, tested and inspected the system, and reinstalled all the hardware and screen and left the work area spotless. When he left my house after unsuccessfully making the initial repairs I did not think (nor did I ask) he would seek out the correct replacement parts. But he did, which shows his true dedication to his trade and his professionalism to his customers. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND Dave Boyers for any and all fireplace repairs and services. Plus, he provided me with sound advice on how to keep the system working and how to test it for functionality.

Received a prompt call back to schedule service. The pricing and procedures were explained in detail over the phone before we scheduled the service. I was impressed as to the care and precision that the technician took while working. We have white carpeting and nary a spec of dust escaped from the work. I will definitely be calling them for our future fireplace needs.

Dave had serviced our fireplace once before, when it quit working, he came back and fixed it free of charge. Great service, very reasonable price.

What did he do: - Diagnosed the fireplace and realized that I had multiple parts non-working - He disassembled the unit. - He thoroughly cleaned everything and installed new parts - Dave then checked for gas leaks and found a small gas leak on another tube that was originally installed and fixed that as well. - He then stayed with the unit working to make double check and make sure things were perfect.

I was worried I was having some major problems with my log fireplace and was concerned I might even have some significant structural damage. I found FlameMasters here on Angie's List after investigating and reviewing other resources. I made the initial call to David Boyers the owner and after explaining my circumstances, he agreed to an appointment to come out the very next day to assess and hopefully address my concerns. Mr. Boyers arrived at my house and immediately went to work trying to diagnose to see if I had any fireplace issues. He confirmed for me I didn't have anything major that required fixing which was a huge relief for me but he recommended I could use some standard maintenance on a few components of the fireplace. I agreed and Mr. Boyers went straight to work explaining in detail with me what tasks he was performing. He seemed ok with me hanging around and watching and asking questions along the way as I am a complete idiot when it comes to gas fireplace maintenance. I was satisfied with the price David charged for his on-site visit and feel I received much value as well as complete peace of mind knowing my gas fireplace now has a clean bill of health. Thank you Mr. Boyers for your time and personal assistance in ensuring my family and I can continue using and enjoying our gas fireplace safely for the remainder of the winter season and throughout the year. Dave took the time to try and help us over the phone and save the need for a service call, but that didn't work out. He established an appointment for later that week. On the morning of the appointment, he phoned to let us know that he would be about 30 minutes late because of difficulties with a previous service call, and we appreciated the communication. When he arrived, he removed his shoes, laid out drop clothes to create a clean work space, and made several attempts to correct the problem in the least expensive way possible. When it became evident that parts would need replacement, he carefully showed us the situation, informed us of the costs that would be involved, and received our approval to complete the work. He had all the parts for our make/model in his truck and was able to complete the repair quickly and efficiently. He took the time to polish the glass, clean up the fireplace pan, and even throw in some carefully placed and quot;burning embersand quot; materials to enhance the aesthetics. When he was finished, he cleaned up the work space and then used equipment to carefully inspect for any possible gas leaks. Then he remained on site for about 20 minutes just to make sure everything was working correctly. Later that night, Dave made a follow-up phone call to ensure that things were still operating properly.

The work exceeded my expectations and the 15 year old fireplace works better than it ever did. Highly recommend.

FlameMaster/Dave went above and beyond to service our fireplace. We had difficulty scheduling with other service providers, but Dave was able to visit and work on our fireplace the same day we contacted him, he even agreed to service our fireplace after work hours. Dave provided superior service as he thoroughly evaluated the fireplace to identify which elements were not functioning correctly, he also cleaned each of the elements to eliminate the possibility of malfunction as a result of build up within the fireplace. Once he identified the problem, he promptly replaced the necessary parts and showed us what to look for and how to properly alleviate any future problems. Dave's willingness to service our fireplace so quickly and his expertise and professionalism were greatly appreciated. We will continue to use FlameMaster for any future issues we have with our fireplace.

He was in the area, so was able to make a visit the same day that I contacted him for service (after previous e-mail contact to get estimate for this visit). He brought a big cloth to put in front of the fireplace that kept everything clean. He explained everything he did and the operation of the fireplace. He recommended every-other-year service.

Fireplace would ignite but stay lite only for a few seconds. David was easy to reach to make an appointment. He arrived on time. Immediately diagnosed problem and solved. He checked all components and ensured fire place was fully operational. The cutoff value key had been missing since we bought the house. He also provided a key the fireplace.

Great service--arrived promptly, cleaned out the fireplace and made it function properly again. Spent a lot of time explaining the proper care of the fireplace that we didn't receive from our builder 8 years again. Will definitely call again if a problem arises.

Dave was on time. His service went above and beyond what I expected. He not only cleaned and serviced the fireplace but also taped the fireplace to keep out the cold air which has made a huge difference in the comfort of the room. He was careful to put down tarps before beginning the work and cleaned up completely before he left.

This is the best service I've ever had for maintenance on my gas fireplace in the 12 years I've owned it. I called for an appointment and received same day service. We have had a gas fireplace for many years which we had inspected every other year, but the service provider we used previously did a sloppy job on cleaning, which made me wonder how much care they took with their inspections. We recently moved and I had no idea how well maintained the fireplace at our new home had been, and I needed to have the old one checked as well in a property we are now renting. I wanted to be certain both were done thoroughly, so I went to Angie's List and found FlameMaster. Mr. Boyers was at my home the next day. He disassembled the fireplace and checked and cleaned it, and when he saw I was interested he explained everything he was doing and showed me how I could perform many of the same maintenance tasks myself without having to call him. He also demonstrated (at my request) a blower unit that could be installed inside the fireplace, but without being pushy about making a sale. He was professional and personable, worked quickly but thoroughly, and when he finished I was able to send him over to service our rental property as well. And his price was very reasonable. I will definitely call him next time we need service on either fireplace.

David Boyers, a one-man operation, provided excellent service. After many years of use, the gas fireplace in our living room lost the pilot flame. David replaced the element, and did maintenance work and cleaning that was long overdue.The operation of the gas logs is much improved, with a more even flame and better heat production. He also did cleaning and maintenance work on a free standing gas log stove in our sun room, improving its' operation, He cleaned the interior of the glass door that had a milky film after many years of use. I have nothing but praise for the service, and highly recommend David Boyers. After this experience, I will have maintenance works done on the gas logs more often.

Dave provided exceptional, professional service at an affordable price! A rarity these days. I contacted him for a gas fireplace cleaning/inspection. My fireplace window was black. It's supposed to be clear. I called him at 0900 hours on 7/29/13 to schedule an appointment. He scheduled an appointment with me the SAME DAY. He arrived on time and did exactly what needed to be done. He did so and LEFT NO MESS TO CLEANUP. Dave excels at his craft and I would gladly recommend him to anyone.

When I called Flamemaster, I was asked several diagnostic questions over the phone by the owner. He keep over to run his tests after my call based on my concerns. David was very professional, gave me a tutorial that was easy to understand on how my fireplace works, and things to looks for in the future that may cause a problem. He was vey thorough and left me feeling confident that it was working safely.

We called Flamemaster and we were able to tell David about our problem over the phone. We had no idea how much these things cost to fix, but I was relieved that he was able to come the same week and get our fireplace working again for a very reasonable price. He even got us a remote system that we didn't have before, also for a reasonable cost. We will definitely use Flamemaster again for any future needs.

It I could give this man an A+++ I would. I can finally see my embers and logs again. I will certainly enjoy these cold winter nights more with my beautiful flames.

Dave was wonderful! Having recently moved here from Florida and purchased a newer home, I had little experience with gas fireplaces. Ours was turning off randomly and we were'nt sure what was causing it to malfunction. Dave came out, was very professional and clean, explained to me how to manually turn the gas on/off, take off and clean the glass front, and even how to install a blower if we wanted one in the future! On top of that, he fixed our fireplace and it has been working like a charm ever since. We will definitely call Flamemasters again. Thanks for your great service!

The whole process was fast, efficient and handled completely through e-mails. Dave is a very friendly, courteous, professional, and punctual person. I enjoyed meeting and talking with him. Mr. Boyers was prompt, and very professional. He was careful not to get anything dirty and went to work immediately. He diagnosed the problem in a matter of minutes. He advised that even though the logs were old, I might get another year or two out of them but he should come back next year to check them out. Not only did he thoroughly clean the gas logs, but he also spray painted the black trim of the fireplace. I have already referred my next door neighbor to him. I now feel that my logs are safe and will have him come back next year.
