These are great people to work with - very personable, very pleasant and easy going. Unfortunately, the ductwork install didn't go well, as the lower level ceiling was drywall, and they couldn't see the obstacles. Because of this, the ceiling downstairs ended up with about a dozen holes cut into it. Further, the holes they had to cut through the walls were rather sloppy. Not sure if this was because of not having the right tools, or something else. Still, it wasn't an easy job, and it took a lot longer than expected, but they persevered and finally got everything where it needed to be. They were very respectful of my animals (I have cages with various harmless reptiles, as well as cats and dogs.) I joked that they became family because they were there so long, but I didn't mind that. I did have to remind them to clean up their debris at one point, which they did promptly. My biggest gripe was the mess made with the ceiling and that they didn't use standard duct-hanging brackets. Instead, it looks like they just bent some sheet metal and screwed it place. Had it not been for that, and the messy holes in the walls, I might have been able to just leave the ductwork visible, rather than have it enclosed (which will cost me another $1000). Overall, I like this crew, and Kal Davis, the part-owner, is a really interesting guy. I think they did a decent job given the difficulty my basement presented. (The upstairs install went just fine, by the way.) If I had a way to do it, I'd give the "Grade" a B+ or A-, but that isn't an option.

From the estimate (including the impromptu plumbing repair) to the install and follow-up the service from Fire and Ice has been fantastic. Kal offered multitude of cost estimates from economical to top-of-the-line and included all of the manufacturers his company represents. In the end, we went with their "house brand" heat and A/C units blending economy with efficiency. The install for all of the systems was smooth and his install team was quick, courteous, and willing to answer questions as they went along. Kal and his team also arranged for the necessary permits and inspections to ensure there are no surprises later. The system is too new to comment on function, but Fire and Ice HVAC has been top notch thus far. I'd recommend them to friends in need of HVAC services with no reservations.

Phenomenal work all around from price quote and site visit to completion of work. Would recommend to anyone for HVAC work. Tankless water heater works great, water pressure can be iffy if multiple items running hot water but otherwise very happy with purchase and work completed.

I called for a free estimate and their service manager & master technician, Kal Davis came and provided very frank, honest and informative details on my options from different manufacturers for a new heat pump and air handler system. At no time from start to finish did I feel pressured to select this HVAC company for the installation. Kal actually called back several days later to follow up and see if I had any further questions about the units we discussed during the estimate visit. He even beat the local competitor for a better model by the same HVAC manufacturer (we purchased a Carrier Infinity Series air handler/fan coil with a Bryant Evolution Series heat pump). The day of the installation, 2 technicians came and were very professional. They always made sure to take on and off their shoe covers every time they entered the house and laid down drop clothes to prevent damage to the carpets and furniture during the installation of the system in the attic. This company even filed all the paperwork on my behalf to receive a refund from our power company, Dominion. I can't say enough how efficient, professional and cost effective (they'll beat the price of other competitors) this company is. And to top it off, they have great customer service. Kai even made a house visit after the techs finished the installation to make sure everything was done to my satisfaction! I would highly recommend this company and will use them again when the time comes to replace my gas furnace.

Whole experience was very positive! Kal took the time to explain the benefits and potential drawbacks of a heat pump system in NOVA. Installation took less that a day - crew was polite, efficient and left the basement just as clean as they found it. We opted for an 18 SEER Bryant and are very happy with the decision. Temps hit 28 degrees just this last week and the system had no trouble keeping the house warm

Kal was prompt and on time. When he came in to do the service he quickly identified the problem with my control board. He explained they would have to oreder the part. The part was ordered and they returned in a few days. They were very quick and professional in installing and getting the furnace up and running and ready for winter.

Kal came by as scheduled - ran several checks on the unit and gave some great feedback on increasing performance of the system.

I called the company on a Friday and they came the following Wednesday to do an estimate. The estimate was competitive, and although not initially quite the lowest, the company made good on its promise to beat other estimates. I preferred to use Fire and Ice because of the excellent reviews on Angie's List. I am extremely pleased with the service I received from this company. Following the quote on Wednesday, they scheduled the work to begin on Friday. Just as promised, the two man team showed up around 9 a.m. They were friendly, professional, and well prepared with the proper tools and materials. They put down tarps to protect the flooring. They removed and hauled away the old system. The installation of the new system was done very well. They installed a new gas furnace with a whole house humidifier and a 4" air filter, and a new split A/C unit. I am extremely pleased with every aspect of working with Fire and Ice, from the initial contact to the final install. A great job for a reasonable price. What else can you ask for. At least for me, this company lived up to the excellent reputation I read about on Angie's List.

Last weekend was mixed with good and bad, the good was my wife gave birth to another healthy child early Sat morning and the bad was the A/C compressor gave out later that evening in the house. Given such circumstances, it was absolutely imperative that it get repaired or replaced before my wife & child came home on Monday. I called the emergency line late Saturday evening, left a message and they called me right back. She was very courteous and I explained the situation and that I'd like someone out first thing Monday morning. I was promptly scheduled for 10:00 am Monday morning and sure enough that morning Kal & Shawn were at my door. They were very professional in appearance and mannerisms, they promptly diagnosed the compressor and I told them for the sake of time I wanted to move forward with a full HVAC system replacement. The pricing was comparable in my opinion to any other family owns and operated small business, neither better nor worse. I have seen lower pricing around, but I'm not certain of the quality of the installation so you can't cut corners everywhere. Having said that, I felt the pricing was fair and I especially appreciated Kap rerouting installers to my location immediately because of my situation. That alone was worth everything to me, but the installers showed up and they were just as great. Aaron & Jose' were professional, courteous and extremely focused on providing the best customer service and installation possible. The installers were truly ambassadors of the company brand and I truly hope the company treats them as well as they treat the customers. It was honestly a pleasant transaction and I remarked to Kal that I honestly spending over $5K with a smile on my face. Thank you as well for the Angie's List discount of $500, every dollar counts especially with another mouth to feed in the house. Thanks again Fire & Ice... don't plan on seeing you again anytime soon, but if I did it would still be a pleasure!

Excellent customer service. Kal took the time to explain the differences of all the options so that we could make an informed decision. We got five estimates for new systems, and Fire and Ice offered the best system for the money. The day of installation, everything was installed efficiently and professionally. The installation team was very professional, they cleaned up their work area made sure that the system worked correctly. Still waiting to see the difference in our energy costs. We purchased a Bryant 4 ton air conditioner (18 Seer) and 80,000 btuh gas furnace.

I can operate my system wireless from my phone. The electric bill went down dramatically. It is an excellent thermostat. I have recommended them to friends.

Under a service contract with Fire & Ice, Kal Davis came to my home on New Years Eve because I had no heat; my boiler would not fire. After determining that the boiler needed a new control board and igniter, he left my home at around 9:00 pm. with the boiler operating sufficiently to provide hot water and some heat. The new parts were not available locally and had to be sent from a distributor in Connecticut. When the parts arrived, Kal discovered that the distributor had provided generic parts rather than OEM parts. Assured by the distributor that the generic parts wold work just like OEM parts, Kal installed them on my boiler immediately. Less than a month later, the generic parts failed. Kal contacted the manufacturer and was told that the generic parts that the distributor had provided were NOT approved for use in this boiler. Kal then contacted the distributor and insisted on OEM parts. Since the OEM parts have been installed, the boiler has worked perfectly. All of this work was done at no cost to me. Kal fought vigorously on my behalf with the distributor and ensured that I had heat throughout what has proven to be one of the coldest winters i recent history, And all of this was at no cost to me. I can't thank him enough for his dedication and hard work.

Professionalism from the beginning taking their first step into my house, they put on booties over their wet boots, respectful to my home and carpet. I had six HVAC proposals and they were the only company did that. They stated and ended on time. I highly recommend Fire & Ice Company, my service manager Kal Davis was so informative and explained everything to me, I did my research, but he went more into detail. It is a blessing to feel that they have the consumers best interest at hand; also, they worked with me trying to get the best efficient system and price. The installation went well. Cal explained to me the different options available as well as offered an option for 1 year 0% financing. Fire and Ice was prompt, courteous and professional. The job was well done and done at the cost and time frame that was quoted. I intend to use them for future jobs and strongly recommend this business to anyone who needs an HVAC professional.

I couldn't have asked for a more professional, efficient, courteous, attentive, best-value driven service. I was remodeling a newly purchased 6,500 sqft house in Great Falls and Kal and his team were a standout amongst the various contractors. They were the best value amongst multiple contractors interviewed. Kal gave me the best advice for my third dedicated zone and performed the extensive work required for all three zones on time and within budget. He went above and beyond at every step correcting pre-existing issues as a value add. At any point post-installation, when we had a question, Kal (the owner BTW) would show up personally and attend to our queries. Fire and Ice displayed an unremitting focus on customer satisfaction that frankly stood out from the multiple contractors who performed work on our new house. I would recommend Kal and his team with no reservations.

These guys saved the day in my eyes. Through some good intentions I ended up with no heat in my house. I called a few other companies, left several voice mails. Fire and Ice was the the first to return my call and with very little notice they sent Kal over to assist and figure out what excatly the issue was. He was very upfront with the possibilites, both good and bad. He was thankfully able to fix everything and get my heat turned back on. He was extremely professional and easy to speak to/explain while be understanding. I would and will be using these guys in the future.

Kal, came over and gave me a quote on a Trane Heatpump and Air Handler. We discussed many options rheem, vs American Standard, Vs. Carrier and the different prices and pro's and cons of all of them. Since Trane had an $800 rebate it didn't make sense to go American Standard. We scheduled the installation and the guys came early to disassemble to dead system, and to start installing the new one. They did excellent work, at a great price, and I would use them again in a heartbeat.

These guys are absolutely top notch and factory authorized through bryant. I have used other providers but these guys don't compare. The install was quick and that was even with new ducting systems. My electric bill is going to save at least 60 to 80% with the new bryant evolution inverters with 60 stages of cooling/heating. I have a propane tank and we did a hybrid system where the inverters will run about 99% of the time down to 7F and put out 105F air but as everyone knows propane is very expensive. The system will probably never use the propane unless its so cold that it goes below 7F. This is going to save me huge money, we wont even use the propane but its nice to know its there in case of emergency as i have two sources of heat. They also installed the bryant evolution air purifier and uv lights. I can tell you that i turned them off to test how the home smelled without and you could smell my cats litter boxes. I turned the uv lights and purifier back on, no smell whatsoever. I even stood by my cats litter boxes and you couldn't smell them and thats within an hour of the system back online. I cannot believe how clean the air is and how efficient it is. This system is definitely worth every penny paid. One thing goes as it says, the system is only good as the installation but these guys unbelievable they are superb on duct work and installation. The system is very neat and done well and above the building code. I will say you may spend a little more on this contractor but you get what you pay for. You want it done fast, efficient and professionally get this company to do all your service work and installation, you wont be disappointed. I could write for days how well these guys did my system but it would be a long story but to sum it up, they are awesome and Kal Davis is also a very good guy to deal with as he designed this entire system.

They were really great. I don’t think I disliked anything. I would use them again. I would suggest them if I knew somebody. They were very nice and very responsive. They came with a maintenance contract for a year.

I decided to convert the oil furnace and electric hot water heater to gas. Ipurchased the system from Fire and Ice HVAC, Inc, the salesman was Kal. I selected the Evolution System that consists of Bryant?s Extreme Heat Pump and the variable speed furnace. This system allows the heat pump to work in conjunction with a gas furnace, selecting the most efficient means of providing heat. I wanted a system that was reliable and energy efficient. The hybrid system had higher cost than one estimate, but was less than another non-hybrid estimate. The hybrid selection turned out to be a very fortunate choice. I had contacted the gas company and followed their instructions to become a customer. As soon as the contract was signed, I faxed a copy to the gas company so gas could be connected to my house. Two weeks after the faxing, I was assigned a gas company representative. It was February and I was low on oil, so I was anxious to get the gas line connected and the new system installed. During my initial call with the gas company representative, I was told there was a big demand and it would take 4 to 6 months for a line to be run to my house. I called Kal and told him of this unexpected predicament. There was no way we could speed up this process. Kal developed an installation plan using the strengths inherent in the new system. It meant there would be an extended installation process and multiple trips for my contractor, but I would have heat and hot water without interruption. The heat pump and furnace were installed the next week. Heat would be provided by the heat pump. The furnace would be assembled and ready for the gas connection. After the gas was connected the new water heater would be installed. The team was very professional, they arrived on time, replaced the AC and furnace, and cleaned up, and taught me to use the thermostat. The gas connection did take less than 4 months. Kal was there for the gas line location approval and again for the digging of the trench. The HVAC team returned to connect the gas and install the water heater. I am very happy and comfortable with the new system. I had been paying between $1,600 and $1,800 for oil. The heating cost with the new system was around 700 and my cooling costs are also less. I appreciate the extra effort that was made on my behalf and highly recommend Fire and Ice HVAC.

Well, I got quotes from four businesses knowing that my 28 y/o air handler and 19 y/o AC/Heat Pump would probably kick the bucket soon, and I didn't them to go out in extreme temps. Of the three small businesses and one large business that quoted me, I decided on Fire & Ice for two reasons. They listened to what I was wanted and explained things to me in terms I could understand. They were not the cheapest quote I got, but get in 'A' in price because it was a fair price for the system that I got. Kal gave me the quote and was patient with my questions carefully answering them so I understood. I called the next day to book them. The Monday the were to come out at 9:00 and be done by 3-4, but were not there until almost 9:40. Josh got out of the car, introduced himself, and apologized for being late. He looked me in the eye when he apologized, and I could tell it was sincere. We let the other tech, Jason, in through the back gate. They asked if the Home Owners Association would mind them driving on the common area, and when I said yes, Josh and Jason both said, "No problem." There was no pressure for me to break the rules so it would be easier for them. They got to work right away, pulling out my old system and telling me Kal would be bringing the new system within the hour. Jason worked outside on the A/C unit, and Josh worked on the inside. I kept looking over their shoulders to watch (not that I know anything, I just found it fascinating) and neither man minded. Josh was lovely to talk to laughing at my jokes and showing me the inside ducts that were filthy. Jason was very polite, and explained that I would need more area than what was there presently and asked if I minded him leveling it out. Kal came with the new system, and checked on the guys. He pulled me aside and again asked if I had questions or if I had any problems with Josh and Jason. He said they were great techs and knew what they were doing, but wanted to make sure even then that I was happy. Kal left after giving me his cell number to call with questions or if there was a problem. Josh and I continued our conversation as he worked, and Jason toiled out in the sun without a word of complaint. The whole job was completed and Josh ended up walking through the programming of the thermostat even though I had the instruction manual. All in all, the job was completed in about four and a half hours. and I am extremely happy with my purchase. I would recommend Fire and Ice, and specifically Josh and Jason to anyone.

We have been using the home warranty company to fix the AC unit and every two weeks, we were ending up calling the home warranty company and they really weren't doing anything, so we just decided on our own to go outside the home warranty company and just purchased new. The home warranty company was just going to continue to band-aid the old system. Fire & Ice explained everything. They were dressed nicely. They were very courteous and very respectful of my house and making sure that they didn't cause any damage and if they did a mess which usually happens with construction, they did clean it up.
