Discover Granite & Marble

This company has no trustworthiness. Their credibility is none given my interactions with them. I asked them if they can come to my kitchen to enlarge my sink cut out and replace my smaller sink with a bigger one. I told them that the work must be done in my kitchen due to the permanent bonding of my countertops and with full backsplashes. They sent a guy over to scope out the work and take measurements. After a few rounds of telephone exchange, they said they can do the job onsite. Before they come to do the work, they require that I have a plumber disconnect all plumbing from my existing sink. They sent me a contract, which I signed and returned to them. On the day of the job, I took a day off from work to be available for this project. Around the time that they promised they would show up, a guy in their office called me and told me that they won't be able to do this job onsite due to technical difficulties. To prepare for this project, I had already bought a new sink, I had already taken time off and hired a plumber to disconnect all the plumbing under my sink, and I had covered my entire kitchen with drop sheets. Essentially, now I don't a kitchen that I can use. Why didn't they tell me that they cannot do the job earlier, before they sent me the contract to sign? They should have told me that they couldn't do the job after their estimator came to survey the job site, which happened long before I signed the contract, long before I bought a new sink, and long before I had a plumber disconnect plumbing, and long before I took time off from work. This company's carelessness and indifference to all the prep work I did caused me a big headache that I had to deal with. Their insensitive action on the day of the project prevented me from using my kitchen sink until I get my plumber back to reconnect plumbing. An unprofessional company with no trustworthiness is not worth you time and your dime. Stay away from this unethical business as far away as you can.

Kitchen Countertop Granite Installation

Rhonda salesperson was great but overworked and should have given me a list of things to do for prep like since I had a cooktop they cut the quartz onsite so my whole house was covered in dust when done including the drawers and cabinets next to it. If I would have known, I would have covered the room entries and removed the drawers. Also things like know where your water and gas turnoff are. The installer was new so they caulked and left right away an has to get them back to recaulk where sunk in. Rhonda was attentive to making sure they came back to do that. She was also awesome in helping me make the right selection for my kitchen. The installers had to deal with uneven cabinets and they were awesome at figuring out how to handle that . And definitely beat Lowes price. All of that is why I gave them an A.

We found Discover Granite & Marble during an online search for retailers open on Saturday. Within ten days of our first visit, our granite was installed. We found exactly what we wanted at their store. The office staff and estimator were friendly, professional, and very knowledgeable. The installation crew was efficient and made certain they complied with our wishes for placement of the granite. We had provided Discover with our newly purchased undermount bathroom sink, and it was installed perfectly. We are delighted with the results and look forward to using Discover in the future.

My experience with Discover Granite was exceptional. After several years unsuccessfully seeking to hire contractors for a small kitchen reno, Jose quickly got me back on track. In a pleasant and effortless manner, he recommended cabinet and granite colors and options that met my design goals. Communicating with Discover throughout the project was easy. Measuring was done as scheduled and with professional accuracy. Installers were quick, efficient, and highly attentive to detail. It shows that everyone here cares about this business which is a great reflection of true company leadership. My new kitchen is awesome.

Flawless transaction from start to finish! Had been searching for granite or quartz tops for two vanities during the complete remodel of the master bathroom. Had a reasonable quote from Home Depot due to a sale that was going on. At the last minute I found Discover Granite & Marble, saw that the company had good reviews, so thought I would make the 40 minute drive from Woodbridge to check them out. So glad I did! I met Joseph and he took one look at my floor and cabinet samples and knew exactly what would work. He took me into the warehouse where the slabs were to show me three slabs of granite he thought would work. The first one he showed me was spot on and the price was less than the quartz from HD. Before install, the entire staff was always very accomodating during my numerous visits whether to ensure what I had selected was the right choice, bringing in wall paint samples or the final slab selection prior to cutting. The staff was always on time during the measurment visit and the install. In our case, it was discovered the night before that the finished granite did not have the right edge. A staff member called to confirm what the edge should be and the granite was delivered when expected with the right edge. Can't say enough good things about Discover Granite & Marble and would definitly use them again.

It was great! It was a pleasure to deal with Jose. The installation went well and plumbing was included. Besides the granite slabs at Discover, there were other large granite suppliers from whom to choose. A big selection and we bought the granite from one of the suppliers. We chose the slab on a Weds, I finalized the details on Thurs, the measuring was done on Mon and then the install was Fri. Quick and easy!

In general, it went well. The salesman did not let me know that I would have to replace my faucet and I had to run out and buy one while the installers were here. I think buying the faucet through the company would have been a bit less expensive than the one I purchased. The new sink was considerably deeper than the old one and the installers had to make some adjustments but did so very well and very professionally. I'm very pleased with the results.

A couple minor challenges but we ended up with exactly what we wanted and absolutely love the end result.

Jose was our point of contact, and he was wonderful to work with. He answered all of our questions, and responded quickly to our requests. Our counter tops were able to be installed ahead of schedule, because they were able to get our slab and cut it so quickly. WE will be sure to use them in the future and refer our friends to them. Great people who did great work!

It was a great install. They were on time and very professional. They trimmed the granite because of some wall irregularities, then installed it and cut the holes for the faucet and installed the back splash. They were in and out with not fuss. Beautiful job. Well done.

The job went well other than the bar countertop is not straight. On one side the granite is buried in the drywall. On the other side it is a 1/4" away from the drywall filled in with caulk. It could be result of the walls not being straight. I am not asking for any adjustment by the service provider. I can live with it. I purchased this deal on December 16, 2016, through Angie's List for $1,995 for up to 40 square feet. There are several things missing from the deal that Angie's members need to know: 1) It did not specify that you are limited to Group 1 granite. Discover Granite has at least 5 different groups or grades of granite. 2) Plumbing is an extra cost. This should be mentioned in the fine print of the deal. When you looking at their website, nothing is mentioned about plumbing being extra. It states it is a one stop shop for demolition, fabrication, installation and plumbing. I learned this after I purchased the deal. I could have used a plumber arranged by Discover Granite for an additional cost of $300. I arranged my own. 3) The free single bowl sink is a 9" depth sink. I didn't not want to see the bottom of my sink when opening the cabinet doors below the sink so I had to purchase an 8" sink at an additional cost of $100. When I visited Discover Granite, they showed me a display of the sink and gave me the manufacturer's brochure. When I checked the manufacturer's website, [*** Link removed ***] the model KSN-3018 which is the free sink model comes in a drop of 7", 8" or 9" all at the price of $399.00. When I asked why I was being charged an additional $100, Discover Granite did not give me a reasonable explanation. The problem is I had a plumber and backsplash installer lined up on back to back days and I couldn't push the job back so I paid the $100. Another issue is I was asked by Discover Granite to cancel my contract with Angie's List. Angie's List takes a share of the profit of each deal. I was torn. I wanted the service guarantee Angie's List provides yet Discover Granite had offer me a contract to absorb the $100 extra for the sink if I contracted the job directly with them. I did sign a contract with Discover Granite only to be told by Angie’s List I could not cancel the deal with them. Since the Angie’s List service guarantee was very important to me, I decided to pay the extra $100 for the sink and not jeopardize the install date and the plumbing and backsplash work. I then went back to Discover Granite to cancel the contract which they did willingly. I felt like I was between a rock and a hard place. Don't get me wrong. Discover Granite does wonderful work. I have used them in my previous home and was happy with the granite installation. It's just if there are additional costs associated with these deals then they should be disclosed. State the free single bowl sink is a 9" drop, Any other model sink or anything other than a 9" drop may be more. State that the deal does not include plumbing services. State that it is Group 1 granite (cheapest). The deal did state labor and materials included. Provide full disclosure of any additional costs in the deals. I had purchased the deal and learned after that the sink depth (not model) and plumber were extra. Generally, the devil is the details…this time it was omitted. I was hoping with being a return customer, I would not have to pay the additional $100. It didn’t matter.

Counter top is beautiful. Installers attached under mount sink and installed counter top, a smooth professional job. Installer arrived as scheduled.

They arrived on time, were very professional and pleasant. Plan to use them in the future for the bathrooms. Would recommend them to our friends.

Drove to their location and met Parvin who helped us pick out our slab from a large selection of available granite. They came to my house to measure and 1 week latter they were there for the demo of the old and installation of the new. The fit was perfect, They were extremely careful of my hardwood floors and took care to constantly clean up after themselves.

Discover was the only supplier in the area (and we visited MANY) who had stone with the exact color for which I had been looking. The salesperson with whom I worked found exactly what I described within five minutes of starting our search. Unfortunately for future customers, I don't think she's there anymore. The only issue, if you can even call it that, involved whether or not the stone had been sealed. My contractor was definitely under the impression that both pieces came already sealed. They definitely did not. I ended up just doing it myself (my contractor had used a spray on product, and while I love my contractor and his work, this method of sealing my brand new granite did not prove satisfactory). The sealing was easy and the stone has been fine. Workmanship was good, and the finished product was precisely what I'd wanted.

We looked all over Northern Virginia for granite countertops for our master bathroom renovation, and every place was reluctant to quote us a price?except for Discover Granite & Marble. Muhammad gave us a written estimate on the spot. Everything went like clockwork from then on. They cut the granite as we requested, and their measurements were perfect. They promised to install the granite within a week, and they did. Customer service throughout was first-rate. Discover Granite & Marble was a wonderful discovery for us, right here in PW County. We were so pleased we recommended them to our son, who purchased granite countertops for his kitchen and had the same satisfying experience with Discover Granite & Marble.

They were extremely helpful. Office and craft staff went out of their way to help and ensure that all went well with the selection and installation. Very prompt turnaround for installation. Highly recommended.

We went to Discover and were promptly greeted by Jennifer. She was very helpful and knowledgable. She quickly directed us to find the perfect stone. Muhammad came to measure and he was punctual and professional, and very friendly. He took the time to answer our questions. We did place the order during the 4th of July weekend, so it did take longer than what we expected. However, the granite looks beautiful and installed perfectly.

I researched several granite companies and went for visits. Upon arriving at Discover Granite I was greeted with a welcome and the ability to walk around their showroom without a salesperson breathing down my neck! The did a good job. They were very professional. They also had a very large selection of granite to choose from and very quick turnaround time on the service.

Discover worked with me fabricating a slab of granite I purchased at auction. They helped me determine how many slabs to bid on prior to auctions end, picked up and fabricated our counter tops and island tops. They did a beautiful job.
