They come monthly. They are attentive and have good customer service. They also do tree trimming.

On time, reasonable price - left no debris - was like junipers were never there - great job mulching area where juniper removed.

First the landscape designer listened very carefully to what we wanted to accomplish. He was very patient with the design process and happily took input and review from us on the design. The work crew was fantastic, above and beyond in the quality of the work, the care and attention to details, providing extra value at every opportunity. I received significantly more than I expected due to their hard work. The crew showed up, worked hard, cleaned up at the end of each day. They are definitely on my list of a first class organization that was a great business experience.

I had moved into my home in a very well established neighborhood in March 2014. I have about 3/4 acre of a lot with a very well manicured and maturely landscaped yard. I was truly shocked when I tried to get quotes for landscaping and weekly grass cutting. I had several businesses never return my calls and several more schedule appointment and not show up. I turned to Angie's List and found Scott with Custom Care. I was happy on my initial call that there was a dedicated person to answer the phone and state the name of the business (most just pick up the phone and I have to ask is this such and such business). I scheduled an appointment with Scott and he showed up on time and was very professional and knowledgeable. He took the time to walk around my yard and listen to my needs and make recommendations. He provided me multiple written, detailed quotes on the various projects I had requested quotes on within 48 hours. I was out of town when his crew came to do the work. When I came home, I was thrilled with the job they had done. My yard was immaculate. Also, I should point out that he laid approx 3 inches of high quality black mulch consistently in all areas of my yard (I point this out because I notice some of my neighbors are lucky if they have 2 inches because they already have spots where their mulch looks thinned out). My husband and I are 100% satisfied. We look forward to having Custom Care Lawn take care of our yard and help us with future projects. Top notch business.

The owner responded immediately, came by and gave me a reasonable price. He was able to get to us right away. The team of 4 showed up on time and Fernando, the leader was friendly. The work was going fine until one of the workers cut the gas line from the meter and the house. As I was calling the fire department the men informed me they were leaving. Their boss told them to come back later that day. Ultimately I had to spend over $200.00 on a plumber. The owner agreed to pay this bill. The team did finish and did a fairly good job.

I've had very good luck with them. They are great. I would recommend others using them absolutely.

Setting up an appointment was easy and quick. Joe showed up on time for our appointment and went right to work listening to what our ideas were and gave us two design sketches. Joe was great with communicating and being flexible with our thoughts and creating a good design. Eventually we went with another company that came in a little lower but was able to get the work done before Memorial Day weekend, which we admittedly were pretty close too. Joe did earn some points with us as they work on a first come first serve basis, which I respect, which prevented him from being able to schedule the job prior to the weekend. We ended up using them for lawn service, but will go back to them in the future for other landscaping plans.

Prompt, professional, excellent installation of landscaping. A tad bit pricy but they will work with you.

They were the only company out of five or six that I contacted that proved that they had insurance. The others kept saying that they would email me and never did. The snow came and I had to cancel the service until spring but I will probably go with them in the spring. I was very impressed with them and they were very professional and prompt.

Mr. Watrous provided an estimate to haul away a large pile of yard debris. Unfortunately he did not respond in time to meet my needs, but his correspondence was professional and the quoted price for the work was the lowest I received.

Overall interaction with Custom Care was excellent. ?Joe H, the project manager, was very easy to work with and responsive. The price quote was based on our specifications / requirements with no?pressure to do anything more expensive / things we didn't want or need.? Weather delayed the installation / work however once they started, Custom Care crew was on time and did a fantastic job.? The work resetting our pavers was exceptional; they also returned to reset a few pavers after a heavy rainstorm.?The work is beautiful. Neighbors are asking for Custom Care contact information. We would certainly use them again.

I personally interviewed several landscape professionals before selecting Custom Care. From the moment I spoke with the owner, Scott Waltrous, I was impressed with his knowledge and Gung Ho spirit. He responded with a bid within a few days after coming to see the property. Scott suggested that we get going quickly on a trial basis while he was preparing his bid. I was utterly astounded when his crew showed up within hours of our initial conversation to mow the lawn. Scott and the people who work for him are professional, easy to work with and most importantly predictable. If they say they're going to do something and schedule it they're at my home barring inclement weather or unforseen circumstances which i'm informed of by phone or email. I highly recommend Custom Care for your lawn, patio and hardscape needs.

We live in an established community and when our work was completed, neighbors visited from all directions to compliment the landscaping and especially the fieldstone wall at the front of our suburban home. Our goals were to regrade the land in front and in back of the house to drain water away from the house and garage, remove rotted timbers in front, excavate and build a fieldstone wall in front, remove a concrete patio in back, move an existing shed about 18 inches, create a landscape plan that required digging up the entire front and back yard, removing almost all old plants and redistributing the soil, installing a channel drain with pipe leading water toward the sewer in back, installing a 4' wrought iron handrail at front steps and to create a design of plantings that would be simple to maintain. Beds were created in the back in two locations, along the side of the house, and in the front. The new plants include Gardenia, Encore Azalea, Hinoki Cypress, Camellia, Mahonia, Boxwood and many varieties of Hosta. New topsoil was put down and sod and mulch and stepping stones. Anything that remained from the previous yard was cleaned, edged and pruned. We had a serpentine brick walkway installed in back as well as a brick channel between the driveway and the front lawn which widened the driveway and channels rain during storms. The job required extensive work and took 3 weeks for 3 men working 8 hours a day. It was a flawless execution of a well planned project that resulted in two very happy home owners. We are highly satisfied and would recommend the company, the landscape designer, and the workers without reservation.

They were professional and did what we required them to do. They were also flexible because I changed my mind on one or two beds and they did it.

We originally called for mowing/edging service. Custom Care gave a great rate and showed up whenever grass was at cutting length. We quickly asked for front and side yard landscape installation. Sue (Custom Care employee) walked yard with us and sketched out what she thought would be the best fit. Not only was the price right but the plantings were a success. We receive many compliments on our yard from friends to neighbors to just those out walking their dogs. We asked for leaf removal and was told that they would come out once when trees were half bare and a second time for when the trees were bare (they take them away). This was ideal and the price was very low. We would recommend this company to any person. On time, good rates, friendly staff and reliable.

The 5,000 square feet of clearing and grading required a grading plan approved by Arlington County, which Mr. Watrous did not obtain. Mr. Watrous is not even qualified to produce a grading plan for Arlington County review because he is not a certified engineer. In addition, in Arlington County, one must be a state-certified Responsible Land Disturber to clear and grade more than 2,500 square feet, and Mr. Watrous did not have this certification at the time that he conducted the scope of work. Mr. Watrous has also piped concentrated water discharge from the neighbor’s property to drain right at the property line, which does not comply with Arlington County policy, and would not have been approved if shown on a grading plan. This pipe now floods my property. Mr. Watrous was fully aware that he was doing work on my property because a survey of the property line was done while he was conducting the work; yet he did not stop. As a result of Mr. Watrous’s actions, I have had to hire engineers and lawyers to assess the impacts to my property and identify appropriate remedies to prevent my cinder block fence from collapsing and from there being a legal encumbrance on my property, and to figure out how to clear the Arlington County violation without causing further property damage.

They were all great, hard working, neat , efficient, prompt. They stayed until the job was done. I would highly recommend them.

I've always had good luck with them. I use them at the beginning of the season when they come and aerate and do everything that's needed for the lawn, and I've never had a problem. They do everything they say they're going to do. I'd had a little bit of landscaping done by them and they did a beautiful job. They take care of keeping the lawn up and just keeping the lawn growing. I've used them for probably the past 8 to 10 years.

They were very good. They came on time and did quick work of it. They were definitely punctual and I would definitely use them again.

They are good. We aren’t in our house right now because of water and smoke damage, so we just left it in their hands. The price is good and the lawn looks good whenever I see it.

Never returned my call - despite calling twice.

Initially I would call this company to come out and mow the lawn on an occaisional basis if my fiance` was not able to get to it. I'd just pick up and call - while I was at work - they would come out mow, trim and blow the debries away ....... and then bill me. Each time they did an excellent job ........ and the yard looked so much nicer - I hired them on a weekly basis. They come like clockwork - and after 4 weeks - are still doing an excellent job! I highly recommend this company!

The job went okay. We had to call them back to finish up a couple of things. It was pretty difficult to get them respond on occasions. So, the work was okay, but it could have been done in a bit more efficient way. The price was reasonable and the people were friendly. We had a good rapport with the people who did the work.

Custom care does my mowing (every 2 weeks) and lawn treatment program. I just started using them and they seem to be great. The only problem I've had is I told the manager that I wanted lawn service every 2 weeks and initially they mowed weekly. I called them to correct the problem - still had to pay for the weekly services for 3 weeks - but they now are mowing every 2 weeks as originally requested. They should have contracts verses doing everything verbally. Other than that, no issues.
