It was a welcome change to a traditional "stuffy" designer. Deanne and Maria were not only creative and knowledgable but they were fun!!!! We had a great time and I will definitely be hiring them again.

We were so happy with the responsiveness and communications between ourselves and the designers. Always on time and the cost, very reasonable!

We decided to remodel our kitchen. Deanne DePyper and Maria Loveless, from BoxeDesign, helped us prepare for and execute our kitchen remodel. It made it so much easier to have professionals bring all the elements for us. Backsplash, floor tile, granite and cabinets. We had looked for months and kept putting it off because it felt over whelming. They made it easy and enjoyable. We love our new kitchen it is both beautiful and functional.

It was an amazing experience!!! From start to finish the 2 ladies were beyond professional. I was very uneasy about hiring an Interior Designer but they made the experience so delightful. I purchased an older home that needed each room handled with care. The colors of my home now flow and are a continuous look of serenity. I love coming home everyday! We started by discussing what my likes and dislikes were. They took pictures and then sent out two students to measure the rooms. The students were so friendly and easy to work with. They actually helped me move my sofa while they were there. They most certainly didn't need too but were more than willing to help. Once Deanne DePyper and Maria Loveless received my measurements, they developed designs for each space. The design boards were emailed to me and then we spoke on the phone about each design element. The process was very schedule friendly. They worked with me so that I could talk to them during my lunch hour or in the evenings. I've never met two more professional and friendly souls. My husband and I have a vacation home in OBX and the ladies are now working on a design for that house as well. It's great because they don't need to go there to develop the design. I have the floor plans so measurements aren't an issue and it is such a fun experience. When I began the design process I was nervous and worried. Now I wish I had another house so I could keep working with both Deanne and Maria. i wouldn't hesitate a second to hire them both again!

What was really done: in-home visit ($210), room measurement, partial rough draft for 1 room ($230). ? more fitting name for this company would be 'Unprofessional, incompetent, dishonest designer impostor'. During the in-home visit which was kind of prerequisite to the upcoming design work, designer Maria Loveless didn't take any measurements and hardly took any pictures. After her visit, the business manager Deanne DePyper e-mailed a service proposal to me to sign. I had to send it back 3 times due to multiple errors, mostly in due payment computations. I should've stopped right there, but I didn't. I made a full upfront credit card payment but never received a receipt despite numerous requests and Deanne?s promises of providing me with one soon. Upon learning that I don?t have a drawn floorplan for them to use, Deanne and Maria told ME to measure out every wall, window and corner of my rooms. After I insisted that this was their job, they sent some clueless students I had to direct and babysit. Our design project included selection of the suitable light fixtures for my rooms. Maria sent me three links to most common websites containing gazillions of the light fixtures of all styles, shapes and sizes with suggestion to pick the ones I like. During that time I?ve started to receive messed-up google-calendar notifications from some Tom Larsen, unknown to me. I notified Deanne and she explained it was their brand new calendar system, with Tom Larsen being Maria?s husband. Deanne assured me the problem will be fixed but Mr. Larsen continued to send me his faulty notifications long after BoxeDesigns and I had parted ways. This just proves one more time that BoxeDesigns is not a professional company but rather a home-based amateur enterprise. Our only designing consultation was rescheduled twice, both times at a last moment. When it finally took place, I was disappointed: the ?ideas? Maria offered were generic, impersonal and vague; the half-baked design draft did not accommodate my requests and partially went against them. Maria was ill-prepared: she didn't have room pictures (and probably vaguely remembered the room itself), her plans didn't contain all the necessary furniture. Throughout the whole session I felt rushed. Afterwards Maria asked me to take pictures of my room and send them to her. When I politely expressed my discontent with BoxeDesigns work ethic and style, and suggested the ways to improve, then instead of addressing their issues, and striving to secure their client?s satisfaction, they fired me! I myself have contemplated to part with the BoxeDesigns. However, having invested my money into this project, I felt I had to go on. To my great surprise, they produced only partial refund, although our professional relationship ceased at their request. Despite the fact that I had absolutely no use for their in-home visit and the unfinished draft for 1 room design, they refused to refund the money I paid for it. Moreover, they removed the 3-room bundle discount and charged me more for 1 room! I plan to file a claim for at least $440 against BoxeDesigns in a small claims court. Update:provider claim they don't know me. They're lying. I have bunch of their e-mails, and record of telephone calls to prove it. After our dispute they are not returning my calls and e-mails, so they're lying about being 'more than willing to discuss a viable solution to the situation', too.

BoxeDesigns did a GREAT job providing interior design and a bit of architectural flair for my home. From our initial get acquainted conversation over the phone, to our first meeting on the job, to our design meetings, they were professional, customer focused and totally engaged to ensure my home meets my needs while using their expertise to make it look great. I have already recommended them to friends and family. Thanks Boxedesigns!!

“I first came in contact with BoxeDesigns at an Oktoberfest Celebration on Fort Belvoir. I met Deanne there and learned about their company and what an interior designer actually does. As a new homeowner I knew I needed help in this area but to be perfectly honest I realized after talking with Deanne that I was totally clueless when it comes to putting a design together for the inside of my house. A few weeks later that all changed. It turns out that I preferred more of a modern or contemporary look and Deanne called on the strengths of her partner Maria to help me. They both came over to the house to take a look, and within a matter of minutes they start figuring out how the design might go. In my mind I thought it would be a real challenge for them because I gave them little to nothing to go on. But once they saw the place and got a feel for what I like, and what I already own, they began to visualize a plan. After that initial meeting we started communicating via email and they would send me design templates and we would talk about them over the phone and through emails. We discussed everything from wall colors, trim colors, furniture, lighting, cabinet color, and countertops. Once they got all my input they put the entire design together in a 3-D image so I could see the complete design. To this day I use it to show my family and friends and to track my progress as I chose to do the work myself vs. hiring a contractor. Yes, it has gone slower than anticipated, but the finished product is much better than I could have imagined. All along the way, Deanne and Maria have kept in contact and have helped me make decisions in buying furniture and what not, to include actually going to the store with me. Recently I made a comment to Maria, that for the first time since I bought the place in 2010 I am really enjoying living in my house. I owe it all to them, as I know I couldn’t have done it without them.
