We were given a price of $1,200 for flooring materials. While this seemed really low, it was only for about 700 square feet. My husband researched the material the quote was for and surprisingly found that it seemed about right: it's a manufactured material so cheaper than real hardwood. He also found we could get it fairly inexpensively (less than $1000) from Lumber Liquidators ourselves, so it seemed about right that a contractor would probably get it a bit cheaper but add a bit to his cost. My husband confirmed the price with him. After a few more emails back and forth about timing for the project, my husband set a date and asked Clint for confirmation. Only then did he come back to us with a revised quote of $12,000! He said he'd made a mistake, and did we still want to do the job at the revised price? While we were pleasantly surprised with the original quote, we find it incredibly hard to believe that he simply made that much of a costly (to him) mistake. And even harder to believe that 700 sf of hardwood flooring would cost $12K, since the most expensive stuff at Home Depot prices out around $5k. We think he simply decided he didn't want to do such a low-level project and inflated the price to either a) scare us away or b) make it worth his while. Very unprofessional and a waste of our time.

Very pleased. They came in, replaced and repaired everything, and it looks just as if nothing had happened. The only caveats were a small gouge in the repaired floor, presumably from moving the refrigerator back into place, that we didn't discover in the final walk-through, and some quick installs of doors and cabinets that didn't hang right. But Mr. Billings did a final walk-through after all the workers left, and caught issues we never would have seen, and had them rectified immediately. He was also on top of mistakes made by subcontractors that we had arranged. We were very impressed with the professionalism and dependability of his crew in general, and Mr. Billings in particular.

We had great communication while they were working and they were great at respecting my property. Before this time they had already worked at my house redoing the whole bathroom with the leak, replacing the shower and the floor.
