Description of Work: The company was very prompt in contacting us and setting up appointment. Their representative went through what they would do. However, because of other circumstances beyond Beacon's control we decided not to install this generator because of additional costs. Beacon was very helpful when we decided to do something different and we may hire them to do some electrical work for us.

Description of Work: Replaced a ceiling fan.

Description of Work: The provider came to our house, looked at all possible locations for the generator in our garden. After thorough examination he told me that the generator can't be installed in our garden because the county regulations doesn't make it possible. He was knowledgeable and courteous, responded to all of my questions.

Description of Work: The head of Beacon Electrical, Bob Hanifin, came and spent a good deal of time with me working through the details of installing a generator, what we needed, etc. He gave me an estimate for $6169. He was pleasaant and professional, and clearly knowledgable. Because I have been contemplating getting a generator, I had gotten two other estimates within the last few months on installing Generac generators. I realize there are many variables as to what is included that cause bids not to be 'apples to apples' totally. I have all the details of the three estimates, and with adjustments (my assessment of what he included that others did not), I do agree his was less, possibly with adjustments for what was bid as much as $1000 less than the lower of the two. However that is not close to 46% less than the estimates. When I went back to look at the ad you ran, it quoted an 'average house' at $7200 price, which was very slightly more than my other two estimates. So I was expecting something possibly between $4500 to $5000 -- considering I knew (from the other estimates) that I needed to have a long gas line run. So I knew my estimate woudl be more than the 'average house'. My other estimates were $6500 and close to $7000. When I told Mr. Haninin this, he explained that he uses very high quality staff and does top notch work, which I can appreciate. So even taking that into account, I would have expected with a '46% savings' offer to have had an estimate at least a few thousand under -- at something like high 4000s to 5000 max. I am very disappointed, as I seriously want a generator.

Description of Work: They were asked to evaluate the electrical component of a malfunctioning intercom system. They concluded it wasn't the electric. Only charged the minimum fee. Now I will go back to Nutone.

Description of Work: Installation of a baseboard heater on the lower level of my townhouse was started by a friend with the best of intentions; however, he could not get the connection completed to allow the unit to work. Beacon quickly saw the problem; unfortunately, the thermostat was not working - possible short out from line not being correctly installed. Since neither they nor I had a replacement, the repair could not be completed. Additional tasks performed: Install of new bathroom fixture Replaced bad breaker for baseboard heater in electrical box Replacement of dimmer switch Inspection of electrical box for the house Inspection of lamp that was not working I had them give me estimates for other work I am considering while here - pricing seems reasonable and I am likely to use them again soon for electrical projects. Very personable and professional

Description of Work: Beacon Electric was very professional and thorough in its estimate. We would definitely hire them - have just decided not to go forward with the purchase and installation of a whole house generator at this time due to cost.
