It went smoothly

The experience went very well overall. The two technicans arrived in the window of time of our appointment and the job took about 2 1/2 hours from start to finish. The staff put down drop cloths to protect our floors before their work began. They told us what they were going to do and then got to work. At the end of the job, I asked to see what the inside of the air ducts looked like (at the point in the ducts where they went in) and they looked totally clean inside - no dust or debris whatsoever. As a bonus, since we were Angie's List members we got $50 off the price.

We needed to solve a problem with poor temperature balance in the house. Rooms in part of the house were always 3 or 4 degrees F cooler than others in the winter and 3 or 4 degrees F warmer in the summer. The likely problem was a high percentage of air loss in the ductwork. Aeroseal is supposed to reduce air loss to a few percent. Wow! It worked great! The team arrived promptly and got to work right away. I was impressed with the communication from the team leader throughout the day. He told me what to expect and when steps were started or completed. The crew was very careful when moving furniture and other items and consulted with me when concerned about moving particular things. The team ensured the vents in the house were completely sealed off prior to cleaning ducts, which kept the house from becoming dirty. After cleaning, the team commenced with the duct sealing. As a first step, they measured air delivery through the duct system and discovered a greater than 50% loss in the air-flow volume. That explained the uneven temperatures in the house. In the sealing process, a mist of sealant was forced into the ductwork. As that was going on, two crew members constantly checked throughout the house to look for escaping mist--a sure sign of a problem in the ductwork--so they could cease pumping sealant. As the sealing process proceeded, the crew determined it was not going as expected based on abnormal pressure readings and a mist in one area. That led them to discover a poorly installed (by someone else) duct was not connected in a hard to see area right above a wall between rooms. That disconnected duct was 1" too short for the installation, so I am certain the Atlantic Duct Cleaning people did not dislodge it. Though that length of duct had fallen about 1.5" down and was about 1" away from the corresponding duct it was supposed to be connected to, it was still blowing air into the corresponding duct. However, it was also simply pouring a great deal of air into the space between two floors of the house. The crew crafted a sheet-metal duct extension and performed the necessary minor modification to lengthen and reattach the duct. Then they continued with the sealing process. Accounting for the large air loss from the previously disconnected duct, the overall duct system's air loss would have been at least 20%, and possibly as much as 30%. At conclusion, the Aeroseal product reduced the air volume loss to only 3%. For the first time since owning this house, the air temperature is the same in all the rooms. Atlantic Duct Cleaning left the house clean. Customers should be aware that some minor chipping and scratching of paint is unavoidable and to be expected when vent grills are removed to permit duct cleaning or duct sealing. I knew ahead of time that would be the case. The unavoidable chips and scratches after the job was complete were acceptable because the crew took care to minimize them during vent grill removal and re-installation.

I called them on Monday and made the appointment for Thursday of the same week. I was given the quote for a single family home and the time expected to take for the whole process. The two technicians were late (about a half hour). I did have to call to find out their status, but they did try to call my home to leave a message that they were running late. The process took almost exactly 2 hours, as expected. Were very conscious of trying to keep the dirt to minimum. Great job!

I was very pleased with the overall professionalism of the gentlemen who came out to perform the duct cleaning. They were on time and were willing to answer any question that I had on the work they were about to perform. They performed the job in the estimated time that they gave me and cleaned up afterward.

Everything was fine. They didn?t speak English very well but they were nice and they did what they were supposed to do. They gave us an Angie?s List discount. My husband did a check on the prices and they were right around the other companies.

They were prompt and careful. They did whatever they said they were going to do. It was a thorough job. The techs were courteous and considerate of my home and my possessions. They were reasonably priced.

They arrived on time and were very clear about what they would be doing and what they needed from me (like moving furniture to get access to ducts). They estimated 2 hours and were done right on time. The only knocks on them were some chipped paint around a couple vents. The vents were painted over, so it wasn't all their fault, but it was disappointing to find afterward. I thought the price was a bit high as well, although I've never had this service before so I do not know how they compare. Overall, I would hire them again or recommend them to friends and family.

I thought that they were extremely professional and thorough in their work. They were very respectful of my home and they took the time to explain what they were going to do. They were very careful and clean with their work including set up and clean up. They went above and beyond the call of duty with what they found in the dryer vent. I thought that it was an excellent deal to get my air vents cleaned and the dryer vents would only be an additional ninety five dollars. It was a very good deal.

The two your men showed up on time and in no time had a huge blower in the basement ready to go. One came upstairs to make sure all the vents were ready with different hoses and other equipment. This was really a two man job, it took about an hour from start to finish, and at the end they show you what they got out of your system. I thought there would just be tons of stuff pulled out but it was really wasn't. They recommend doing this every 5 to 8 years. I got the price I did because Don Shaw sent me. The companies that really know what they are doing are all in the 300- 400 dollar range.

My vents and ducts were filthy from extensive remodeling. The two workers, Alfonso and another gentleman, were consummate professionals. They were on-time and ready to get to work. They did not damage the paint around the vents, which had been recently painted. They also left no mess whatsoever. I noticed one of the workers wiping the walls down. This company was more expensive than using those with coupons, but I wanted someone certified by the National Association of Duct Cleaners, and I didn't want to be surprised with additional charges. Definitely would use them again.

I chose them based on a report from another member about them cleaning up well. I can attest to that! They scheduled me in a timely manner and were very professional. I called with a couple of questions about the procedure and what I would need to do, and the people in the office were great! They did a good and were punctual. I have already recommended them others.

The servicemen were on the late side owing to a previous appointment in WVA, but it wasn't a problem and the office phoned to let me know where they were. They managed to get their equipment into and through my narrow house without dinging any walls or marking floors or carpet, not easy to do. They were extremely polite and tidy left the place clean.
