Ashmasters Chimney Service Inc

We were given a time between 1-3. Troy and Steven arrived a little after 2 pm to sweep and inspect our chimney. They were extremely thorough and efficient. After the service, Troy took the time to explain a few possible issues with our chimney and gave us a fair estimate to fix the issues when we were ready. They were both friendly and professional. The service is normally $100, but we had an Angie's list coupon that knocked the price down to $85. Would highly recommend!

Ashmasters has done my chimney cleaning for the past 4 years. They are a quality chimney sweep at a fair price, Winston's and Potomac Chimney charge more than double for a chimney sweep. They advised a "rokleening " process for third degree creosote buildup. They came back and performed that in a timely fashion and fair price. As a former firefighter, that buildup could have caused a disastrous fire in my own home.. Troy, the sweep who came to our home on both occasions, was prompt, courteous, professional and truthful about all work done and proposed. I would not hesitate to use them again. Gerald Pyne

Ashmasters inspected, swept, and repaired our chimney on 19 May. Their invoice states that they "sealed hairline crack at crown with epoxy" and that "crack is not leaking". When they returned on 25 August, we were told that they needed to relay our crown and that there was no warranty on the repair that they had done only three months prior. I would not trust their handiwork.

It was a good experience, I guess. It was the first time I've used them or anybody for that matter as far as chimney service, but they seem to be professional. The estimate was very expensive in my little bit of experience that I have. But I can't put it to reference because I don't know what it would cost to have someone else do it. I would use them again.

We rescheduled the appointment and the crew arrived on time, did a fantastic job to include respecting our property by protecting our floors and doing a thorough clean up when finished. I highly recommend Ashmasters for any type of chimney service; they are a first class professional company.

I was given a two hour window for my appointment (2pm-4pm). Troy (technician) and his assistant arrived shortly after 2pm. They promptly went right to work during which time they showed care and respect for my home. The work was thorough and done in a timely manner. Troy took the time to explain the work he performed and offered useful advice. Ashmasters also offer discounts for Angie list members. Thanks.

They were quick, efficient and informative. They had a cancelation and called to see if they could come a little earlier then the window we had set. They pointed out a couple of items that I should think about repairing in the future and said that I could get a reduced price if I did both at the same time.

I could not have been more pleased. They did exactly what the promised, cleaned up nicely, and did it for a reasonable price.

Ashmasters did a great job. The crew was professional, and very nice. They called the week prior to see if they could come and drop off the supplies ahead of time and took care to cover them from all the rain. They showed up on the specified day on time and completed the work by 2:30. They did a great job and cleaned up after themselves nicely. They kept me informed of everything and answered any questions that I asked of them. The chimney looks great!

On time, with plenty of communication about appointment. Did a thorough job and had tarps down with shop vac so they didn't get any dust or ash on the carpet. And charged me the price quoted. Will definitely use them again.

We have a wood burning stove insert that we use constantly during the winter. I feel very confident in the cleaning and the inspection that was done.

Don't think I have ever had someone show up early for an appt. Got here and got the job done. Ray taught me how to open and close the cap which works as a damper on the top of the chimney. We had been having trouble with smoke coming in our upstairs fireplace from our downstairs woodstove. This should stop that. Ray was sweet and professional and very knowledgeable. Kevin showed up about two weeks ago - the day after I called them - and listened to me and gave me options. One option wouldn't have cost a thing. He's so great. Ask to see his badge. :) He called right then and had us scheduled for the next available appt. I really like these guys and will do all of my chimney business with them.

They did a great job at a great price. They were punctual, thorough, and cleaned up very nice. After removing the old clay lining, they removed the debris and put in a stainless steel liner. They did a great job and you can't even tell where they replaced bricks. I would definitely use them again.

This is the 4th season that I have scheduled Ashmasters to inspect and sweep my chimney. Every weekend (and some week nights), during the winter, I build a nice warm fire for the family to enjoy. For my piece of mind, I have my chimney checked and swept at the start of every season. The price is fair and the service is always on time and professional. I have recommended Ashmasters to my neighbors and would recommend them to anyone else in the area. Seriously if you are within their service area, there is no reason to use anyone else.

He left message on my answering machine that was flippant and insulting. He was clearly not happy having to wait for 30 minutes. I received similar treatment from this "same technician* last year after they did $850 of work on my chimney crown. I asked for "before and after" pictures of the crown and was told "you can see it from here (ground level)." I will not use them again, despite their low price on sweeping.

This provider went above and beyond to make me happy. Kevin the owner always called me back promptly and was especially nice. Lisa his wife is always a joy to talk to-she takes care of the office stuff while Kevin is out. The employees that came to do the work where great guys and funny! It was really hard for them to get the liner down since the chimney took a slight turn. Because of this it took more to cover the wall work than I had paid for. They called Kevin and told him the situation and he said to go ahead and fix it. I didn't know this and I called because I was not satisfied with a little bit of it. That's when Kevin told me that it was thrown in for free but he wanted me satisfied so he would send out his crew to make things right and make me happy. Two days later they were spending the afternoon with me to try and make me happy. They had lots of suggestions and I went with one of them. He didn't steer me wrong. The went to Home Depot and picked out something to frame it with. They picked out one that I loved and matched other near the stove. I love it now. All I can say is they went above and beyond what I paid-which was less than other quotes. Everyone is friendly and sincere and act like they love to help you and you know they are sincere about it. I want to thank them for putting up with me and making me happy. Couldn't have asked for a better experience!

They did a good job. However, the top part of the chimney does not match the bottom part of the chimney. They came back out and painted it at their expense. Did some painting as wellat a reduced price

A friend recommended Ashmasters so I contacted them. Punctual. and responsive. Inspected my chimney and recommended a $2800 repair - said the flue was too small for the chimney box and needed to be removed and replaced with a stainless steel liner and a 6" smoke guard. Stated unless I did so my room would fill with smoke (I had only recently purchased the house and had not yet used the fireplace.) Said that it was built improperly and to the wrong ratio between the flue and fireplace box. They did clean the chimney. When I balked at the price he said that because the bank charges so much to cash checks! that if I called the owner and offered to pay in "$100 bills" I would be surprised at what a discount I would get for this repair. I contacted my home owners association who said they would pay for the repair but sent out another chimney service. He said that the flue was fine and that unfortunately, many services pay their people by commission so they are incentivized to recommend services that are not needed. He did agree that the smoke guard (a small repair) was needed. He also found that despite the fact I was charged to clean the chimney, and two men did so, it had not been cleaned properly - they had not removed the damper so there was still a lot of ash/etc. built up (I have still not used the fireplace). So not only did they want $2800 for an unneeded repair, they didn't even properly clean the chimney. Bottom line: STAY AWAY from Ashmasters. .

The cleaning and inspection went very well, The workman (2) arrived a few minutes prior to scheduled appointment. They made sure that the carpet was kept clean, laying down a tarp and making sure that all residual was vacuumed up. While the cleanup was being done, one of the workman inspected the chimney, noting any problems. They were very courteous the whole time. The issue came when the inspection was being reviewed with me. The inspector included pictures of a couple of issues, but not another. I was then told that the chimney cap was homemade, extremely poor, and wasn't doing the job. When I informed him that I had personally purchased the cap from a big box store and installed it myself, I was very nicely told that couldn't possibly be true and that I was wrong; essentially telling me that I was either lying or had no idea what I was talking about. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!! I would probably use this company to complete the work due to the otherwise good job done and value.

hire these folks because they know why they are doing one month ago they cleaned an old woodstove and suggested a new chimney cap but i held off this morning there was a chimney fire because of the stored creosote in the chimney cap instead of pushing me off to next week, they worked me into today's schedule because the woodstove was my sole source of heat very impressive

Great experience. Appointment was easy to make and the customer service representative was very courteous. The two man crew arrived on time on the day of the appointment. They were very professional, careful not to get the house dirty, and thorough in their inspection. They also took the time to answer all our questions regarding the use and maintenance of the chimney. When it comes time for us to get our chimney inspected again we will definitely go back to Ashmasters Chimney Services Inc.

The chimney seems to be fine now.
