Description of Work: ARS performed the maintenance services as requested. The company's representative was punctual and polite and took care not to impact anything inside or outside of the house. My only issues is that I have repeatedly asked for some additional information on services and/or equipment and ARS has not responded. I am happy with their services but find myself thinking I might have to look else where in the future.

Description of Work: Alex came to repair my A/C unit. He did a fabulous job and got my home cool in record time.

Description of Work: We used ARS for about 18 years to provide furnace and air conditioning service. They installed new equipment in our house and it works well. My only complaint is the cost of maintenance. I was able to find others who were rated well but cost a lot less and this is why I switched service providers.

Description of Work: The company technician tested our A/C system as outlined in the Big Deal we purchased through Angie's List. Everything went well and the tech told us about the system with respect to its age and how it was operating. The only thing I did not care for was his insistence on looking into replacing the system. I am aware of the age and the fact a system can "die" at any time.

They checked the system, advised various options for maintenance works or ask us to get a new system as current one is running for 14 years and its condensor might not last for long. And it's costly in long run to replace a condensor with an old inefficient system.

Description of Work: Not thrilled with ARS and the service they provided. The AC check up was completed, but a leak was found and we were pretty much left on our own to find out where it was coming from. The technician that was sent out poured water into our system to confirm the leak was coming from the AC unit, but didn't think to ask for a towel to absorb the water which ended up wetting our carpet. The tech pretty much said it could be a number of places where the water was coming from and suggested we have someone come out to give us an estimate for a new unit (due to the age of our unit - about 9 years old). We called the office the next day in the hopes that someone could tell us what was wrong and give us options in repairing the unit and not just replacement. A 'supervisor' was sent out & gave us an estimate for total replacement - almost $9,000. We asked about options for repair and he seemed to skirt around the issue and kept telling us we wouldn't want to repair it because it's just going to be a patch job that will end up failing again. He also told us, contrary to what the original technician said, that we didn't have a drip pan & that's why the water was leaking on the floor. He also, quite rudely, told us that he had been working since very early that morning so he wasn't going to haggle with us. We either wanted the new unit or not and he preferred we didn't get it so that he could go home for the day. I don't know what gave him the impression of us wanting to haggle because we hadn't discussed anything at that point, but it wasn't a very professional way to address a customer and left us with a bad feeling. | |We opted NOT to have the unit replaced by ARS. We contacted another company for a second opinion and for more than $7,000 LESS than the total replacement cost that ARS quoted us we were able to get our unit repaired (which is all we wanted) with a one year warranty - guaranteeing it wouldn't just be a 'patch' repair. The issue was completely contrary to what ARS said it was. And for the record, we DO have a drip pan! It was within the unit which seems to have been too much work for the supervisor to check since he would have had to remove screws and check behind the panel. | |Overall the AC cleaning went well, but things went downhill from there once the leak was located. We felt that they didn't want to be bothered helping us repair the unit and simply wanted to sell us a new unit. | |I would not recommend this company in the future.

Description of Work: I purchased a deal for an AC system check for $59. When I called in to schedule the ARS rep said they would be more than glad to schedule the check but had a "better" deal they wanted to tell me about first. I wasn't surprised, and I wouldn't call it bait and switch, but I did end up going for the "better" deal that cost $180 and included two more visits. Long story short, ARS ended up discovering that the HVAC system in our 4 year old home was installed incorrectly by the original vendor. I was very appreciative of the discovery and follow up regarding the issue. The onsite technician even provided pictures and a diagram to help a layperson understand and explain the issue to our home builder and original HVAC vendor. I would use and recommend ARS again.

Description of Work: I have a contract for maintenance of my home Air Conditioning/Heating units with this company. Have been with them for more than 30 years. They have undergone several changes in name, location and management. They are responsive to my needs but the service techs always seem to be over-worked. Some of the techs are very good, others not so. The cmpany charges a lot of money for the minimal work they do and no longer covers the cost of adding refrigerant under an annual contract. You must pay extra for it.

Description of Work: We replaced our AC and Heating units. They arrived on time and removed old units and replaced with the new units. Technicians seems very knowledgeable and were very courteous. They cleaned up the jobsite after the work was completed. We are very happy with the system and the installation.

Description of Work: More expensive than new company for service contract for 2 units. ARS worked out well for the years I was a customer. However, after 6 years decided to change.

Description of Work: This company came out to do the routine check on the AC. Everything went as planned. The technician was on time, was courteous and professional, and not at all push about the suggestion we think of getting a new unit. I would probably not call the company again, however, since I prefer to work with a local, non-franchise business.

Description of Work: I tried to get a reasonable quote for a new furnace and heat pump. I was not successful in obtaining a reasonable quote for a "right size" furnace and heat pump. I have been very satisfied with this company for many years and have no problems with the company or its employees. | |I was disappointed that we were unable to reach an agreement for new equipment and I did obtain a system at a more reasonable price from another company.

Description of Work: It has been a while now since I had the work done repairing my furnace system, but I have been using them for several years, initially, because they installed the original equipment in my home. I have always felt the personnel who came to my home were very professional and left me quite satisfied they knew what they were doing and did it well.
