Description of Work: We had been customers of ARS for many years and had problems with the other installation of the heat pump and subsequent service. When it was determined that we needed a new heat pump we got 3 quotes, and while theirs was competitive, we decided to change vendors.

Description of Work: The Air Conditioner Compressor was replaced by ARS.

Description of Work: Annual Maintenance of the Air Conditioner and Electronic Air Filter. Fixed the Electronic Air filter by using his fist to bang on the housing structure to bring the electric contacts back into contact position. Both systems originally installed by ARS when my house was built 8 years ago. Exterior maintenance of A/C appeared fine.

Description of Work: We've had ARS do routine maintenance and a new installation at our home. They are not cheap, but have very professional, timely service technicians. I took advantage of VA green electricity incentives to get rebates on more efficient HVAC systems and duct sealing. ARS can help with obtaining these rebates. Remember to submit your forms on time (within 30 days of service) to get rebates!!

Description of Work: ARS provided and installed a multi-zone Mitsubishi Mini Split system for a front addition to our home. Joe Arico is great to work with and the crew of two did a great job to demo the old oversized system, cap the old ductwork, haul away the removed components and install, test and start up the new system. Attention to detail is what brings us back to ARS as this is the third HVAC system we have had them install as well as a tankledd hot water heater. Our home is comfortable, quitely heated and cooled and as efficient as the best new homes on the market despite having been built in 1977.

Description of Work: Initial contact with ARS was pleasant and professional. Our situation was explained (unable to use the service immediately) and it was stated we just need to call when we were ready for the service. When we were ready, multiple attempts at contact, e-mail, phone and phone messages were unsuccessful.

Description of Work: My air conditioner would not come on so I contacted ARS. I was very happy to get an appointment the next day. The service man came on time and began looking at the unit to give me his diagnosis. | |I have an older unit and the repairman stated that the relay, transformer, coils and a few other things that I did not understand needed to be replaced. He recommended purchasing a new unit instead of putting any additional money into the current unit. He also stated that he could have someone from his estimate department come over to give me an estimate for a new unit. When I spoke with the gentleman providing the estimate, he stated how everything was wrong with my air handler. He said that they just happened to have some great rebates on a new air handler and I could get one the next day for just under $5,000. | |Before replacing the entire air handler, I decided to get a second opinion. The other company tested several power leads in the air handler and came to the conclusion that the transformer was not getting power. He clicked the reset button on the transformer and the air handler began working. Not what I was expecting from an air handler that ARS told me was not worth repairing. | |Bottom line, I wasted $89.95 on a false diagnosis with ARS, but it was better than the $5,000 they tried to get from me.

Description of Work: A very complete and thorough examination of our HVAC home system. Very pleased with the professional attitude and knowledge of the technician conducting the inspection. I would use these folks again.

Description of Work: I have used ARS ever since they bought out General Heating. I believe their service has deteriorated over time. They did a Spring service check and service plan evaluation. I have since contracted with another Heating and Air Conditioning Contractor. The price above is for a one year service agreement.

Description of Work: The technician came in to perform a tune-up service of my AC unit. He told me that we needed a new unit because the one I had was on its last legs. Therefore, there wasn't much he could really do to tune up the unit. I have no complaints regarding this, however I do have complaints on a salesman who came from the same company to sell me a new unit. His goal was to sell sell sell the most expensive unit they had. What he should have done was to educate me and inform me about my options and what I truly needed. He did not even bother to tell me the other brands the company sold until I asked. He seemed to get irritated when I was not willing to immediately write a check for $10,000 for a unit which I did not need.
